      Oldest Known OOBE Induction Technique...

I saw a book on Shamanism a number of years ago(the title escapes me now) whose basic premise was that the ancients knew of a variety of trance poses that would put one in contact with specific Entities or alternate spaces. According to the book nearly every ancient statue/image/figurine contained information of this sort.
Among them was a projection pose that came from a neolithic cave in France. It was really very simple. It involved relaxing on a slope of 37.5 degrees(the diagonal of a 3x4x5 triangle) and holding your right hand(or was it left) with the thumb straight down and the fingers turned out to the side. It was apparently discovered accidentaly by cave painters who happened to be laying on their back resting from drawing on the ceiling of a cave. Apparently the Egyptians also knew of this as they showed it on a temple wall someplace. They took care to hide the hand position, though.

The book claimed that it was very effective, stating that the workshop participants dubbed the platforms made for this purpose "Launching Pads".
At one point I started to building a "Launching Platform" but chickened out as I was really kind of creeped out by the general tone of the work. I am not going to get involved with Spirits. Just in case this one involve one
Perhaps not, as this one didn't seemed to convey much information just a rapid shooting off into the upper world.
      Any comments?

      Nothing wrong with exploring deeper.
This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

I have wondered about sleeping at an angle before, and even contemplated removing the bottom legs of my bed (purely on intuition). It just seems right to me. And, esoteric teachings aside, it's perhaps a more natural and pleasant way to sleep. We assume that sleeping flat is best (mainly because that's how beds are made), but is it really?

I have a metal bed now, so I can't really remove the legs. But I would like to hear from anyone who is willing to experiment with sleeping at an angle.

Sleeping with an angle does make a diffrence, I mean, in a real way.

It helps breathing, takes away pressure from your neck, and so on.

Ecstatic Body Postures: An Alternate Reality Workbook by Belinda Gore
is the book I was trying to remember earlier.

A lot of things to think about...such as what is the difference between a trance and a WILD?

Exactly what it says, their are other ways to do things besides sleep.

or that he is going crazy
Insanity is the mind's only effective defense against reality.
sometimes dreams are so good that it hurts to wake up... .
