    Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness

No order or method to the madness, just random dreams that I found interesting and worth keeping track of.

    1. Drawing!

by , 02-14-2015 at 03:58 AM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
I'm trapped inside a long building with a tornado approaching. I'm safe in here, but I learn that there is a group of people outside. They're trapped out there, and in great danger. So I draw a picture that turns into reality - covering all the ground in foam. They are imposed on the picture, but the ink for their eyes bleeds because it is fresh. I add a vicious zeebra/dog just for fun. Then I flood the world with invisible water, and drop the water level down to my chest. I can breathe underwater, but just in case others can't, I drop the water level again to below the entrance to the safe building.
    2. Pictures of the Simpsons

by , 01-06-2015 at 05:38 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
I take a picture of my mom's dog and cat as they are both sitting in the kitchen right next to each other. They both smile and look at the camera. The perfect shot. Funny how both the dog and the cat look alike, and also look like my dad's weird dog he has. My sister wants to see the picture, but when I look at it, they aren't looking at the camera anymore, even though I already took the picture. I look for another picture, but all I have are photos of the Simpsons in real life. Mostly weird ones, like a tiny animated devil sitting on a chair, with Maggie poking her head around the side, and Marge in the background. Or a photo of Mr Herman.

Suddenly I am on an airplane right next to an animated Mr Herman. Apparently he's a really fat guy, I'm not sure where his character comes from. He says, "I'm Mr. Herman!" and suddenly we're both falling from the plane. Now I'm watching us fall, hit the ground, but all cartoon like.

I stand up, the cartoon effect disappears, and there is a big bottle of whiskey in front of me. Kind of like Goldschlager, but with red bits instead of gold. Must be cinnamon flavored... An old friend next to me tells me I should have drank it earlier, but I can still drink it now. It seems like a tasty idea, so I reach for it, but wake up because I can't feel my arm, and my shoulder hurts. Arm =/= shoulder.

...All of this in an unplanned nap on the couch with the cat on me!
    3. A Personal Lesson in Reality Checks

by , 07-05-2014 at 06:36 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
I am listening to one of my favorite bands through earphones, and take the earphones off to do something else, but the music remains at the same volume. I check, and I am still wearing the earphones. I take them off again, being extra sure that I removed them. Holding them in my hand, looking right at them, the music is still at the same volume. I also feel them in my ears at the same time. I drop the pair I'm holding and feel another pair in my ears again.

My room mate comes up to me to tell me something, but I can't hear her over the music. I take the earphones out, but the music is still just as loud and I can't hear her over it. I focus really intently on reading her lips, but only get part of what she's saying this way. I take the earphones out several times as she is speaking, but the music never gets quieter.

Maybe I'm dreaming? I pinch my nose and cannot breathe. I look at my frame of reference, notice my nose is slightly visible as usual, as well as my face around my eyes. I try to put my finger through my hand, it won't go through. I look at my hands, I have the normal number of fingers: 4 and a thumb on each hand. "I guess I'm just going crazy then" I conclude, still unable to stop the music. I wonder if I am just unable to remove the headphones and am hallucinating my attempts to get them off, or if I am just hearing the music in my head without headphones....

In either case, the music is awesome, so I don't really mind it at all. I sing along for a bit, realizing I don't know the words, I let the song continue. I figured I would know the words if it's in my head, but I don't. I keep taking the earphones out, only to hear the music just the same, and to immediately find the earphones are still in my ears.

A large dog is sleeping nearby. Now it is a horse, the size of a huge dog. It has wedged itself comfortably behind some furniture and wants to get out. I move the furniture a little, and it squeezes through, now in dog aspect again. Turning around, it squeezes back into the furniture, between the frame of a table with no top. It is a large fluffy dog at this point, it lays down, completely comfortable and relaxed. I feel relaxed just looking at it curl up over there.

I wake up and realize I fell asleep with my headphones on, playing the exact same music. Complete continuity from the dream music to the music I'm hearing now.

Maybe I woke up briefly for the RCs, and due to the continuity of music, didn't know I was awake? A crucial element was missing from my RCs however: Truly believing this might in fact be a dream. Instead of this, I was merely wanting it to be a dream.
    4. Vicious Dog Attack

by , 05-22-2014 at 12:29 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
I'm playing a game similar to Fury, where you can pick between different styles of character, each with separate item sets and skills. There is a portal to use to enter battles with other players. I still have beginner items, and am a low level. There are also a few random creatures around outside the portal. I switch to the one that can stealth (go invisible) and begin equipping some of the better gear I have in my inventory, but as I do so, I realize a match has already begun, however I don't have any weapon equipped. I end up equipping scissors, and a pen, and rush over to help my team mate. We end up losing, and are then outside the portal again.

Now with better items equipped, I notice two wolves / dogs behind the portal, I mouse over one and see he's level one. I think it'll be an easy kill, so I stealth over, but then notice there is also a level 6, my level. I try to stealth up behind that one, but he turns to face me, and it is clear I won't get a surprise attack. Spamming the attack button, I end up hitting the level 1, and back off, pulling just that one away. I finish that one off, and return for the level 6.

Ryan tells me, "If you can kill that one, we can finally see what's behind the portal in that direction. Having played the game for a lot longer than I have, I wonder why no one else has managed to kill the level 6 dog.

I am now in place of the character I was playing, and reach out to grab the dog. He tries to bite me, but I grab him just under the jaw, so he can't get his lower teeth under my hand. He is a small brown dog, with very vicious looking sharp teeth, angry eyes, and half floppy pug style ears. I hear Ryan say, "be careful, that think will tear you to pieces." Noticing the viciousness of it's attempts to break free of my hold, and bite into my hand, I can't help but worry about letting him loose accidentally.

I tighten my hold, and as he tries to break free, wiggling all over, I follow his movements and end up holding him up against a wall, in a choke hold. Although this does not deter him one bit, as he still struggles intensely to rip me apart, but can't due to me pinning him in place. I get a better position, and he realizes his struggling won't free him, so he pees and shits everywhere. I don't even look down, although I feel the piss on my legs, I stare the dog in the eyes.

He then talks to me, saying, "I don't want to hurt you." I tell him I don't want to hurt him either, and let him down. He sniffs my hand and then licks it before running back to where he was originally behind the portal. I now look down and see big wet stains on my pants, and goat turds all around.

Ryan approaches the dog, but is immediately met with snarling and an attack position by the dog. He decides against fighting it. I walk past him, and he lets me pet him and scratch him behind the ears.
