    1. The Professor in the Loose Shirt

      by , 11-13-2013 at 07:56 PM
11-11-2013 -- [Probably earlier bits I can't remember.] Am on what seems to be a sort of college campus, perhaps in a quad or something. There are a lot of people around and a lot of arguments. Politics or racial issues (repub vs dems or America vs Islam), and a lot of people feeling very strongly or getting upset. There is a blonde professor (female) and Lisa Williams (the DJ, not the psychic) arguing about the issues, and things get tense enough that they actually reach the point of getting into a bit of a fight, shoving each other around and throwing blows.

At one point in all this, I get caught in a legs scissor by a massive guy who is crushing me and causing me some serious pain as he squeezes me with massive tree trunk legs, but I eventually manage to wrestle my way free. At one point I end up sitting down on a bench and talking to a young woman (brunette, 18-20) who thinks I am an idiot, but doesn't particularly have anything against me. Right now she is griping and complaining about her mother, who is the blonde professor. The girl kind of reminds me of Faith from BtVS.

The professor comes along and is arguing with the girl, and seems to be raking up leaves as well, cleaning the area up. She is blonde, somewhere in the age range of 45-50, and has large breasts. She is wearing somewhat loose clothes, and when she bends far enough over while raking and gathering leaves, her impressive breasts end up swinging out, and I am enjoying watching her. She either doesn't notice, or doesn't care, but does ask me to help with the raking, and gathering leaves, even as she is asking about the size of my lawn waste garbage bags. I tell her I don't know what size they are, only that they are fairly big. I don't really want to do this, but it will keep me close to be able to keep enjoying those breasts, so I agree.

I grab a broken rake (the part of the handle remaining is only about three feet long) and start to do some raking, gathering up leaves, and avoiding several 2"-3" thick branches the professor has stacked in a pile on the ground. Soon I also find myself gathering up some litter and garbage out of the gutter, and dodging a somewhat large and possibly danger spider under some of the junk. Meanwhile, a cement truck is backing up to the curb, though I don't know why. Gathering more leaves, and the professor (who is still falling out of her top) invites me home with her and her daughter for some coffee and maybe some food. I am hoping this is going to lead to something pleasant, so I agree, and suddenly we are there.

The house is kind of damaged, and packed with lots of junk, and I manage to find the worn and beaten coffee maker and haul it over to her, then ask her to look at it and see if it needs anything else, so that if it does, I can start looking through all the junk, trying to find it. She says it ought to be OK, and says she is making some meatloaf. This worries me since most people make meatloaf with onions, and I am kind of mildly allergic to onions. The daughter is helping with some of the clean-up and still griping, and I may have kind of half-woke, because I find myself trying to recall the earlier bits of the dream (Lisa and the politics and stuff) and am looking for something to write them down on, but am having problems finding anything.

Suddenly instead of being in the professor's house, I find myself in an enlarged version of the Pageant house, but it is owned by Rosemary. This is like several other dreams in the last year or so, where my room is in the same place, but is a lot larger, and there are four beds in the room, and four of us share it. The whole room is quite messy, with everybody's stuff and clothes strewn all about the place. One of the other roommates (who reminds me of one of the roommates from the Amidon house, though I can't remember his name) is complaining about the mess, and I point out that I am only one of four tossing stuff everywhere, but say that since Rosemary kicked me out, within another week or two, I will have all my stuff out. Meanwhile, I am still looking for an envelope to write the early part of the dream down.

I take a few minutes to pet Lady (one of Rosemary's dachshunds), and the unhappy roommate wanders around cleaning some of his stuff, when Rosemary comes bustling in. She seems unhappy with me, which doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is the seeming reason. She demands to know why I wasn't around for Thanksgiving dinner, and complains of lots of food that didn't get eaten. I explain that, after our last argument, and how she threw me out, I didn't think I was really welcome. Turns out I was.

Anyway, I finally find an envelope to write the dream down on, but as I am trying to do so, the unhappy roommate starts spraying something on stuff. There is no pleasant odor, so it probably isn't an air freshener. It might be a bug spray or something. But since he is spraying it on clothes laying around, books, and even some comic books, I'm getting a little worried. He tells me the comics are his, and not some of mine, but still.... Meanwhile, I still can't concentrate on writing down the dream, and Rosemary may be coming back to do more ranting, so I decide to try and go back to the professor's place.

I exit the house, and find myself on a hill. It may be in Omaha, or possibly in England. It has some of the feel of both. I am wearing roller skates, and find myself rolling down the hill very fast, so step off on some grass to slow myself down for a moment. I see a cop in a patrol car, and am worried he'll hassle me, but I have my back to him, and he drives right past me. I continue down the hill to the main street, and make a right turn onto it, just to discover I have no idea where the professor lives. So I just start wandering the neighborhood, hoping to recognize something.

Eventually, I step into a house and am wondering if it is the right place, then I find an answering machine, and it is my sister's, and I find that the message I left her, that I worried couldn't be heard because of my voice, actually came through better than I expected. About that time the professor's daughter tells me I have been rude, and to sit down and eat the huge steak her mother cooked for me, so I guess I found the right house.
    2. Going Lucid, Telling Dead People They're Dead, then Fixing my Crushed Car

      by , 05-30-2013 at 03:31 PM
05-30-2013 -- [A halfway short but fun one.] Hints of computer gaming, perhaps a little Runescape, and find myself in a cross between the Goodwin's family room and my room at BMs. Having a discussion with some people connected to the game, and notice the decor of the room seems to be BMs sewing room as well as my room, and one of the guys backs into the sewing machine, and it starts to sew up the pants he is wearing, while getting all tangled and mangled. Meanwhile I am sitting there petting a dog? Sheep? It seems to be a cross between a bijon, a greyhound, and a sheep, and I am not sure what it is, but it is friendly, and loves to be petted. BM comes in and says JM loves that thing, whatever it is. He comes wandering through, as well, in a rather curmudgeony mood. As he walks away complaining about things, I realize ... wait a minute. He's dead. He died six or seven years ago, back in ... 2008, was it? I'm dreaming!

I decide if I am dreaming, I am not going to let him interfere with me, and I am going to have some fun, so I walk up to BM, drop my pants, and tell her to have at it. She says no, rather angrily. I tell her JM is dead, and remind her he has been for years, but she still refuses. In addition, he comes wandering around again. I stare at him, reminding myself he is dead, and trying to make him disappear, but he just won't vanish, even though he is dead, and finally I get angry, and decide if neither of them are going to cooperate with me, I'm going to go elsewhere and have some fun, dang it!

I walk back to my room and start searching for my shoes, and then pull them on. I'm just about finished with that when BM walks in the room, and I think she is going to lecture me or yell at me or something, so I hide under a table, surrounded by a couple of racks of dresses, but it turns out she came into her sewing room just looking for a needle. I accidentally shift the table around a bit and apologize to her about it, and she's cool with it. Seems as long as I am not trying to do anything with her, she is not upset with me.

So I walk out of the house, looking for my car. There are probably a couple of dozen cars parked around the house, most of them older models that look quite broken down, and I find I can't really remember what car I am driving now, as I have gone through so many of them, recently. I walk past more and more, some of which I can remember driving in recent dreams, some I can't, but none seem to be currently driveable. I vaguely remember recently driving something in a 40s or 50s roadster with small wheels and a very low profile, from some dream that involved some sort of meeting in the Brookhurst moon park. [No idea if it was a real dream, or just a dream of a dream.] I climb through a sort of cross between a small garage and a sort of storage shed, with more dead, scrapped vehicles, and come out at the next store neighbor's, which seems to be almost a sort of junk yard.

As I walk up, the neighbors don'k know me, and are sort of unfriendly. Since they don't know me, they tell me I am probably in the wrong place, and want JMs place ... it's "Over there." with a point back where I came from. I explain I am looking for my car, can't find it, know it has got to be around here some place. Kind of a worn old roadster. "Oops," comes the unapologetic reply, and one of the people leads me over to a large car crusher, which he opens up, and pulls out a large cube of metal. They've crushed my beautiful ... well, my running car! I'm devastated for a few seconds until I remember, it is all a dream, and I decide I can fix this!

They just stare in amazement when I tell them this, but I grab the car's mangled bumper and kind of shake it out like you might shake out a wadded up shirt, and the car snaps back to mostly it's old shape, though it is kind of wrinkled. I smooth out some of the wrinkles while talking soothingly to the car, and it is getting in better and better shape. The tires are really mangled, though, have lost all their rubber, and at the moment are tiny, looking like the damaged castors off an old desk chair. I start gently rocking the car back and forth while continuing to mutter smoothly at it, and it starts to kind of regrow the rubber on the tires.

The tires are getting fuller and fuller, and even the wheels are getting a little bigger, and soon, instead of looking like chair castors, they are looking more like the wheels from a child's wagon, which are certainly an improvement on where they were. I keep rocking the car, and trying to grow them into something more like what you would see on a 40s or 50s car. Meanwhile, I am kind of stroking the hood, which is a faded, dull black with what seems to be an old, torn decal of Jim Carrey as the Mask, and as I start to gently rub along the hood, both the decal and the paint job are becoming whole and glossy and shiny, then I wake up!
    3. Fragments: Dobby's E-mail, Flying on Magic, Visiting with Sirius, and a Dragon in Mammoth

      by , 12-23-2012 at 07:59 PM
[Trying to get them out of the way, a lot of less detailed fragments from the month of December, all put into one post. And I thought there were more of them, but there only turn out to be three ... and last night's very short bits.]

12-23-2012 -- [Very poor and short night of sleep, afraid there wasn't much from this.] Very fragmented, but it was a Harry Potter dream taking place away from Hogwarts. At one point earlier in the dream, I was in a 'reality' where Dobby was my elf (I was Harry Potter, BTW) and to allow us to communicate easily during the summer without having to allow elf popping in a muggle area, Dumbledore gave Dobby an e-mail address to keep in contact with me, and Dobby was really, really excited about it.

At times in the dream, I spent a lot of time at home feeling sick and just mostly laying around in bed, and eating or drinking boring food. Nothing at all exciting, except the times that I would end up falling out of bed. [Hope this, combined with the very poor night of sleep, isn't telling me I really am coming down sick!]

Later in the dream, two other unusual bits ... for one thing, I was in a different reality, where Dobby was not actually my elf, but had become a Hogwarts elf (like in the actual books) and I needed his help. Calling him didn't cause him to appear, so I was thinking of using the e-mail for him, even though it was given in a different world, but I couldn't find the e-mail anywhere, because I kept having to wipe my computer and reinstall everything. [True to life. Will be replacing or repairing computer within a day or two.]

And secondly, in this particular reality, Lucius Malfoy was serving as a sort of wizarding mentor, watching over me. In this dream, Lucius was neither completely good or evil, but much more complex than that. But I had to ask him why his son didn't have any of his Slytherin qualities, as was such an absolute berk, and he admitted he despaired of Draco ever becoming what he ought to be!

      ---

12-13-2012 -- I'm out in a desert area, a long way from home. When I am ready to go home, I just kind of lean back, as if sitting on nothing, then just kind of drift along invisible on-ramps to invisible highways as I fly along non-existent roadways at high speed. No spells or anything, I just kind of tell my magic what I want it to do, and it does it.

I come to a major city, and find a friend of mine, and tell him about it, but no matter what, he just refuses to believe me, so I finally have to just leave him there as I zip off on my invisible whatever it is.

I end up visiting with Kevin B and his family for a little bit, then go on to a slightly spooky hotel. I am running around going up and down elevators and the like to find myself in a dingy back room somewhere. the place is frightening, as are the people, but I'm just here to pick up a dog, so I ought to be able to avoid any trouble.

I head into the back room, where Tucker is running around on the floor, but when I try to pick him up, he backs away and growls at me. I can sense there is something wrong, and speak up about it, but the unfriendly lady working here tells me there is nothing wrong, and to take my darn dog.

I reach for him again, and he's still growling and fussing as another lady walks in the door with another Bijon in her arms. She was given the wrong dog, and assured all was good. But she wants her dog back. Tucker jumps out of her arms and runs over to me, while I glare at the lady who tried to force the wrong dog on me.

      ---

Somewhere around the 8th or 9th of December -- Earlier parts all faded away, but I am walking down the street somewhere, and I've been visiting with Sirius, and have just sent him walking down the street with somebody (perhaps Fleur?), planning to catch up with them a few minutes later.

There is a large half-giant female who suddenly turns into a full giant, with a name of Fredrica, perhaps? I think it might be Hagrid's mother. Somehow we're trying to keep things safe and sane.

That is, until I find myself walking into a classroom setting with Dumbledore in the front of the room, and we are playing all kinds of horrible tricks and pranks on him, before doing even worse to him because of all he's let happen to Harry.

      ---

12-11-2012 -- There's just a little hint of a scene here, standing outside a gas station somewhere, preparing to do a mystery shop, then suddenly the scene changes.

I am suddenly in a cavern deep in the heart of Mammoth Cave, in a deep portion of the cave that few people have ever reached. I am in an area with a river or a lake, but I think it may be a river or lake of acid.

Suddenly there is a huge red dragon in the air above me. Somehow I am swinging the dragon, half in chains by swinging the chains, and half just mentally holding it and swinging it around. I am using it to brush red push pins off the walls of the cavern, but somehow I also bump it against the ceiling, which is bringing some rocks down on top of me.

Soon I am doing enough damage that it shakes large areas of the cave, and the river suddenly triples in size with much more 'water' pouring through, leading to worries that I may have flooded myself, until a portion of the floor collapses, and the water all just flows away into an even lower section of the cave. Short, but neat.
