    1. Doctor Who and the Time Travel Kidnapping

      by , 09-04-2018 at 05:36 AM
09-02-2918 -- Massively cool Doctor Who dream, at least in my mind as I woke up. Earlier bits stumbling around in a house, half asleep, barely able to walk because of a bad foot (from real life today), then I find myself in a sort of a cross between a space ship and a planet. The place is mostly metal, and a slightly odd mix of seeming both medevil and futuristic. The TARDIS is parked in a sort of a junction of blocked off corridors, and is within a slightly shimmering, but almost invisible bubble of some sort of force, so it looks like just the walls of the corridor, but if you walk up to them, you can pass right through them.

I am Andred, the place guard, played by Peter Davison, and the Doctor in this story is the 12th Doctor, Capaldi. I'm not traveling with the Doctor, I am simply on the planet he has landed on. He and his companions (who are never quite seen) are running through corridors trying to figure out what is going on, but I have seen this before, long ago, so I am kind of starting to remember things. Eventually the section of wall that is phased out, allowing passage, is starting to look like some sort of dark iron mask, and as things are becoming more intense, the only thing that is missing, are the glowing red eyes, but I know they are coming.

As I said, things are getting more intense, and one of the Doctor's companions has gone missing. He is trying to find them, and is half-listening at the iron mask, when the bad guy makes some sort of comments about the might of the Sycorax or some such thing, and the Doctor is commenting about how something isn't right here, and I know what it is. At this point of time, the Sycorax should be barely starting their evolution, and incredibly slow and stupid, without enough knowledge or interest to kidnap one of the Doctor's companions ... except that (remember, I've seen this episode before) because of traveling in the TARDIS for a while, they are all soaked in chroniton particles, and having one of them around will jump-start the species' evolution. I know that in a few minutes the Doctor will realize this, and will take the TARDIS back in time to rescue the companion before they manage to get a hold of her, and thereby keep them too stupid to think of kidnapping her in the first place.

But first he has to run around for a bit, and find the clues he needs, to tell him this, and in the meantime, I am just kind of wandering around with him. At one point, he finds a silent sort of weird guy he is trying to communicate with, who seems to look kind of like Chip (Cassandra's servant), but Chip pushes his way head-first through a small hole in the floor. The Doctor begins to follow him, and I'm looking at the small hole and thinking of my large size (mine, not Davison's) and am thinking 'there's no way.' But then I notice that the carpet is rather flexible in the area, and realize the hole is a lot bigger than it appears, but the carpet hides most of it, and I go head-first through, as well.

Dropping to the next level, the Doctor has already run off, and I find myself in a large set of rooms divided by walls here and there, but no doors, a sort of open floor plan. But around the edges of the area there are a lot of confusing, unmarked doors, leading to small corridors with more doors, and a fair amount of people running through them, and nobody is paying any attention to me at all. There is a sort of storage area, with boxes and crates on the ground, and people wandering through the 'aisles' picking out supplies and parts and tools, and there's a sort of lounge area with a bunch of chairs. I duck through one of the doors and through a couple of the small corridors and more doors, but things just keep opening out on even more corridors and rooms, so I head back to where I started, just to find everybody is gone.

So I keep looking around, and more people are arriving again, and in the lounge area, there is an odd sort of display called something like the Eye of Boh, where you sit in a seat and look through a sort of telescope, and your mind is being focused across the universe, to where you are staring into the eye of the provinence of Boh, and are kind of hypnotized. And the passage through the area sort of passes right through the viewing area, so people try to dodge around to avoid being caught in the line of sight, for fear of what might happen. And I see somebody that looks kind of familiar, and find myself asking 'Is that Emma Watson?' and I remember, 'Oh yeah, she did have a guest role in this episode, didn't she.'

She is somewhat young, probably 15 or 16, and looks a little bit different than usual, but still pretty recognizable, and she has taken a seat in the lounge area with a bunch of other fairly young people, and more are gathering all the time. I stumble, and fall back against a wall, and am hoping as I fall that it is a real wall, and I'm not going to knock down part of the set. It is real, and I don't collapse the set, but in the fall, I spot a camera man filming in a dark corridor, and am thinking to myself that the low lighting helps, and that the less observant viewers won't manage to see him in that scene, but the sharper ones will. (ie I am the camera, so his filming there will be caught on film.)

I make it back to my feet, and return to the lounge area, which is getting more and more crowded, and as the crowds grow, balloons are starting to pop -into- existence above them. They make almost no noise, and a barely audible over the industrial sounds of the area. It's also getting darker and darker, so there is less chance of people noticing them appearing, either. The balloons are all black and white, and oddly shaped, somewhat like a Mickey Mouse balloon, except they don't look at all cute, but rather creepy, and as the crowds grow ever larger, and more and more balloons appear, they start drifting down onto the people, where they cause great pain, and cause the people to start screaming and disappearing. I dive out of the way, and am dodging through the corridors again. This time other people are starting to notice me, and beginning to call out for me, and I'm starting to run from them. I find myself back in the shopping/storage area, but this time it is really crowded, and I am having to push my way through the crowds, and am hoping the Doctor hurries up and figures it out, so he can go back in time, and I can take the companions' place, since I am of this time and world, and don't have any chroniton particles to fuel their evolution. I'm ready to sacrifice myself for the team.
    2. Back in Haunted Time Passage House, Hidden Objects Style, Ties to Other Dreams

      by , 07-04-2017 at 05:31 PM
06-03-2017 -- This one was from a month ago, jotted it down immediately, but didn't have time to get it on the computer until now. Much of the earliest bits have faded, but I am probably Harry Potter, judging by much of the stuff that comes later. It is late at night and I am trying to get some sleep, but I am rooming with a slightly stuck up but more or less OK Draco Malfoy. So while I am looking for a little bit of private relaxation time before falling asleep, Draco has been getting more and more into muggle electronics, so wants my help setting up his TV, cable box, DVD, video game systems and so on. So I'm kind of half-assing it, hoping in the process he doesn't stumble across porn and go nuts about it.

I've got most of the stuff at least partly hooked up when somebody new wanders in and notices that his VCR doesn't have the cable channels tuned in, so he's only getting 6 or 7 broadcast channels, and the new guy starts to correct that, and is also showing him how to hook up and use his CB radio. Since he's now got other help, I'm more than happy to just turn around and head to bed.

The next thing I know, I find I'm in a new circumstance that relates to several past dreams, including the Doctor Who/BtVS dream of a few months ago, and many others, including various secret passage dreams and more. I find myself outside an old three or four story house that I think I fought a plant in during another dream I can't find to link to, and I have a lot of memories of the last time I was here, and the things I had to do, but not exactly, or in what order, so I'm still having to puzzle a lot of it out.

I start on the West side of the house, can't say what floor, but I'm kind of looking in a window at a room where the mom has fallen through a trap door in the floor (and possibly also time ala the Tonks scene in the above Doctor Who dream) to a lower dungeon-style room. The thing is, she'll need to be rescued on that floor (and in that time), not through the trap door she fell through. Meanwhile, though I should only have a limited view through the window, I can somehow see all kinds of people wandering up and down stairways throughout the house, though they should be out of sight, and quite possibly in other times. Strange.

I move along the back side of the house, the area that most seems like the plant-fighting area, then I find myself in a hallway along the East side of the house, and there are ghosts wandering through the area, some helping and some hindering the regular people. At first I seem to be one of the ghosts, but as time goes on, I become more and more solid. Meanwhile, I am trying to use my half-remembered knowledge from previous dreams to help the regular people solve the 'puzzle' (it's all feeling kind of like a hidden object game), and am giving instructions. I point to one ghost in a room next to the corridor, and ask it to grab some tools and bring it to me.

I realize almost immediately that this is unlikely to work. The ghost is probably not going to be able to pick up the tools, because it is a ghost. But it might be able to pick them up if that room is in the same time as the ghost, but even if it can pick them up, it probably won't be able to take them out of the room, and finally, if it did get them out of the room, then the tools would probably be insubstantial to me, so I probably wasted my time making the request. The ghost grabs the tools, and starts to bring them to me, but as it passes through the doorway, the door slams shut, and I figure the tools remain in the room. But no, the ghost kept them and brought them to me, and I found I was able to hold them, so that's why I figured I must be a ghost, too, at this point.

I follow the East corridor to a large room at the back of the house, where there are a lot of people and ghosts around, and a lot of junk to possibly sort through. One of the ghosts is an old-fashioned housekeeper dressed in the appropriate garb, and looking just like Hermione Baddeley as the housekeeper in Mary Poppins. The room is one where I found Luna Lovegood in another time trap in a different dream, but this time there is no sign of her. Instead it is a long room with piles of junk to actually climb over, and some broken and damaged walls being guarded by an angry and dangerous tiger, who has several tiny ghost tiger cubs in the area. I suddenly manage to remember that I have to find some balls of ghost food to feed the ghost tiger cubs to be able to get by the real tiger.

I ask the housekeeper to hand me the box full of food balls, and I start trying to toss them across the room into the cubs' food bowls, but being ghostly balls, they have no mass, so don't toss well. First I try to help them along by blowing on them, and it helps a little, but not enough. Finally I just throw the entire box of food, which gives it just enough mass to reach the other side of the room, and get a little bit of food in all five bowls. So I carefully creep past the ghost kittens, and the live tiger leaves me alone, and I crawl over more of the stuff, getting nearer and nearer to the ceiling, where I find a sort of secret passage way. It looks like there is a wall, but it's an illusion, and you can move right through it.

I crawl up into a hallway on the floor above, and again I can remember it from other dreams (but not any particular dream the I can link to). I am now in a medium-length corridor. I crawled up through a passage at the floor level, and I know that there is another passage directly across from it at ceiling level, but it seems whatever point I have arrived at, we either have not yet found the step-ladder that we'll need to climb to reach the ceiling passage, or we haven't moved it here yet.

There are doors at both ends of the hallway. The end close to the two secret passages is behind me, and it doesn't seem important. It is probably the first way we entered the hallway, early on in things. I seem to remember the door at the other end of the hallway being locked, and we have to pick the lock. I send my friend off to find the step-ladder, and head to the door at the end of the corridor, just to find it is already unlocked, so we must have already gotten that step taken care of.

    3. NCIS Time Travel Dream Leads to Planning Heroes Movie with HP Characters

      by , 06-13-2017 at 07:32 PM
04-23-2017 -- First part, long, involved dream that I can't mostly remember, except that it had a vaguely NCIS feel to it, and involved time travel and people with individual powers, one of whom was pulled through time multiple times, so that there were 5 or 6 of her present, and we were all trying to overcome bad things, and tell the story of the various powers.

Then I woke up, and realized that the dream made little sense, and most of it's internal logic did not pull together or work, and as I was thinking about how it was too bad, as I could use another cool dream to write down, I fell back asleep, and kind of continued with the analysis of the dream, and thinking of how to make it better as things started changing. Soon I was half-living and half planning out a film to compete with the Marvel movies of a superhero kind of world that was probably based more on Sanderson's Reckoners series.

Bits that I can remember include a baby Groot that looked more like a bowtruckle from Fantastic Beasts and somehow sacrificed himself, that I was trying to figure out how to kill him off, yet still manage to keep him around, except eventually I realized the idea was too close to Groot, so we could never get away with it. Instead, I had to re-imagine the tree creature as a small, but very full bush, so that it was significantly different.

In this dream, the government was all for itself, and keeping itself in control, with no concern for the people, so they had set up agencies where people who wanted anything to do with powered beings would have to go and get approval, but they cheated everywhere. For example, they had signs on the walls stating that anyone who wanted to have anything to do with powered beings would have to fill the paperwork out in Portuguese. So one of the protagonists of the story was summarily turned down for not doing his paperwork in Portuguese, because they just didn't like him, but he retaliated by pointing out the signs to everybody in the office, and telling them all that they would be turned down for not using the language, and trying to clear everybody out.

So finally Umbridge breaks down and tells the guy he can fill out the forms in English, just so he will stop chasing everybody else away, and they start asking him about all these weird scenarios that are supposed to give them an idea about his morals, and whether it is safe for him to be working around powered individuals, but they make no sense. There are questions like "How would you use a power of turning metal into plastic to win a game of Tic-Tac-Toe?" To which he answers that it is an utterly foolish question as A) the power would have no impact on a game of Tic-Tac-Toe, and B) using the power to affect the game, if it could, would be cheating, anyway. After a couple of times of objecting to the bizarre and nonsensical questions, the person evaluating him says that he can already see the guy would be a bad fit for working with powered individuals.

Meanwhile, I am planning out casting, and thinking of having Chris Rock play the part I just described, based on his role in some of the Marvel films (which to the best of my knowledge he has never been in), when I come to realize he isn't likely to be open to coming and doing our film when it would probably cost him further roles in their bigger pictures. Very strange, yet very fun stuff!
    4. Exploring Haunted Secret Passage House, Cross of HP/DW/BtVS

      by , 06-13-2017 at 07:22 PM
03-25-2017 -- An ever-morphing cross between HP, BtVS, and DW. A group of us (an odd mixture of regular people, Harry Potter and Buffy characters) are exploring a large old house that I've explored before in many dreams. Sometimes things remain normal, sometimes they get a little strange, but this one got odder than usual. I'm sort of a Xander-like character, just the normal guy that stuff kind of happens to/around.

The house seems to be morphing into a kind of a cross between Grimmauld Place, the house from the Classic Who episode Ghostlight, and the hotel from the Shining. There is a very evil, corrupting feel to the place, and an odd variety of ... creatures ... are popping out at us, trying to scare us and frighten us, yet over time you almost get the kind of feeling that they are past victims, themselves, now trapped in the place.

At one point, we're exploring one room, and Tonks steps on an area where the floor is weak, and it collapses under her, dropping her into a room in a lower level of the house. The problem is, it is not only a lower level, but also is somehow located in another time, so while we can see her, and are trying to rescue her, we're having a really hard time reaching her. Thankfully the Doctor (the 10th Doctor) arrives, and manages to bridge the gap, so to speak, and rescues her from the evil cat-girl who was after her. So now we're wandering the halls of the horrible place together.

The corrupting influence is still there, but now it is kind of muted, and not as strong, and we realize the TARDIS's telepathic circuits are kind of holding the evil influence at bay. Because of this, the Doctor has got it on a sort of old-fashioned looking pallet jack, and is wheeling it around with us. One of our members is being referred to as 'Dog-Boy,' and I can't help but wonder if it might be Xander, with a hint of the Hyena possession coming out, due to the evil spirit of the place.

Soon we find ourselves in a large room, perhaps a kitchen or a living room, I'm not sure which. One of the beings we're fighting against seems to be a slightly sweet, slightly sassy girl with a sort of a Victorian appearance, who is actually rather cute, and I am sort of falling for her. In the house, only seen under the low lighting of flickering candles, she looks almost completely normal, but then I catch her in direct sunlight pouring in from an uncovered window, and suddenly the makeup on her face shows a completely different image, of a very evil looking clown with razor-sharp, long, demonic teeth.

Doesn't stop me or change how I feel, though. I look her in the face, and explain I am a sometimes clown, too. She doesn't believe me, and I start explaining about the face I designed for my clown. In real life it was a classic white face appearance, with small purple highlights around the eyes and the lips, but in the dream I was explaining it as a rich, violet purple face with white highlights around the eyes, which would probably look rather frightening, itself.

I am explaining how I did a lot of work with balloons, while she is playing with a yellow balloon poodle (sans head), when somebody randomly asks "Hey, where's Dog-Boy?" One of the other enemies, a bit of a mean one, just starts laughing, and says he was killed three days ago, and we never even noticed until now. Personally, to me it only feels like we have been here a few hours, so I'm figuring it was much more recent, but it is still a terrible thing, and as he's still laughing like a loon, I decide to take my revenge on him. I grab a pink bee-body (a kind of twisting balloon) and try to inflate it to pop it at him, but my balloon is full of holes, and won't inflate. So I ask the evil clown girl if I can borrow one of her red ones, and she lets me. The problem is, no matter how big I blow the thing up, it just will not pop! I'm getting more and more frustrated with the thing.

Others are discussing what might have happened to Dog-Boy, and I take the opportunity to spent a little time kissing my evil clown, while also trying to think of a way to save her. Somebody makes an odd mention that kind of indicates that Cat-Girl and Dog-Boy got together for a short time in another time, and had a kid. While others are trying to figure out the logistics of that, I suddenly grasp on an idea of time travel, and saving even the earlier victims of the place, by maybe traveling back in time, saving them and taking them all to another time to safely live out a good life, then bringing them all back to this time for the ending of it all, letting them all have most of a good life.

I start to search out the Doctor, wanting to explain my plan to him, and find him right outside the front door of Draynor Manor, somehow managing to exit the door that is usually entrance, only, and approach him with my idea, but as I run the idea through my mind, trying to figure out the best way to explain it, I can just picture him, ever-more-clearly, muttering about fixed points in time, and how it can't be done, and by the time I reach him, I just kind of glare at him, reproachfully.

"What?!?" he demands, at the way I'm looking at him. "Never mind," I mutter, and start to walk away. But he demands to know why I'm looking at him like that, and I explain the whole idea, and as I expect, he starts muttering about fixed points, and impossibilities, and starts to get angry at me, and accuses me of either being possessed by the evil spirit, or perhaps not even being myself at all, but a replacement that has been foisted on us, and I just re-enter the manor, to see what little I can do for the poor past victims.

As I get back to the kitchen or wherever it is that most of us are now at, a strange cross between Rory and Angel is in the process of hanging a huge pack of firecrackers on the wall of the place, while an equally odd cross of Amy and Buffy is wielding a crossbow and trying to shoot the firecrackers to light the fuse. The idea is to set them all off, which will start a large fire on the wall, which will quickly spread to the entire evil house, burning it to the ground, and destroying all the evil victims within it. I am trying to block the shot, keep it from happening, and figure another way out of things, but I'm just not having any luck.

Just before they manage to send the place up like a roman candle, an earlier version of the 10th Doctor bursts through the back wall, accompanied by Rose and Jack, all three carrying big, shiny, advanced sci-fi weapons, as the Doctor confronts the smallest, meekest, shyest member of our party, and exposes -them- as the one who has been replaces and is working against us (instead of me, as he accused earlier) and says he managed to take my plan and make it work, so now everybody has managed to be saved. Which is when I woke up.
    5. The Doctor and the Daleks of Death

      by , 05-02-2016 at 04:28 PM
05-02-16 -- I'm playing some sort of Doctor Who video game, but the longer I play, the more it seems to be turning to real life. (I can still see myself pressing keys to try and move around, but I'm moving me around in a real-life situation.) I believe I am traveling around in a somewhat hospital-like building, when I find we're being attacked by Daleks. I take off running, and the Daleks are following fairly closely behind, and I can't seem to manage to get away from them.

Soon I find myself in a hallway with three elevators, and I dive into one of the elevators, and start pressing buttons, and instead of moving between floors, I am traveling through time. The problem is, the Daleks almost seem to have managed to link to me, somehow, so every time I try and go a few days further into the past, so I can have time to prepare for the Dalek invasion, they have somehow started their invasion a few days early, and are right there waiting for me, as the doors open again.

In addition, the elevators are also working as elevators, and moving to different floors of the building at the same time. The problem is, the middle elevator has no buttons, and if you enter into it, you are stuck going wherever it takes you, with no control over where you are going, and I am popping in and out of the various elevators like I was in a Scooby Doo chase scene. At one point, I dive into an elevator, and find it is the one with no controls, so I dive out again, almost getting caught in the closing doors. I try to dive into the next elevator over, but its doors slam in my face, so I throw myself at the third elevator, and only just manage to throw my arm in as the doors slam on it, then bounce back open again, so I can get in.

This seems to give me a tiny bit of breathing room, but only a tiny bit. I throw myself into an 'office' of the hospital, and explain to the other Time Lords what is going on, and how I am crossing my own timeline, trying to find a way to defeat the Daleks, but that they are somehow time traveling at the same time, and always beat me to it. And as I am explaining, we can hear the laser blasts and screams from other parts of the hospital, as the Daleks are here, but just haven't reached this room, yet. And though I think I am going to be in trouble with them for crossing my owns paths in the time stream, the situation is important enough that they don't seem to care. Unfortunately, the only advice they have for me is something along the lines of 'embrace death.'

The Daleks are getting ever closer, and I head off at a run, bursting into what appears to be a basketball court, and dodging some players who may be real-life friends of mine (one of them possibly Nick), before I run out another door and through more office-like areas. I finally make it to a corner office, where I run in and find myself facing the Grim Reaper, skeleton, black robes, and all. I launch myself at him, wrap my arms around him, and we both smash through the window, and find ourselves falling hundreds of feet.

Somehow this is supposed to allow Death to see multiple realities or time line possibilities or something, so that he can spot an action that I can take that will allow me to beat the Daleks, but instead he is just crying about how all paths now lead to the end of everything, and there is not a single hope left in the entire universe. Very depressing and horrifying. Except ... even though Death cannot see a way through it all, I suddenly know what to do, and how to fix it, even as we are still plunging to our deaths. And then I wake up.
    6. Buffy and the Time-Shifted Life Debts

      by , 02-24-2015 at 08:03 PM
07-18-2014 -- Am in a sort of high school or college setting, there is an attractive teacher around, one of the students is rather weird, and strange things happen around him. Things fall apart, stuff doesn't work, windows collapse shut (or open) when they shouldn't. I have a pole that is a cross between the old poles to open the real windows at grade school, and the poles with the two prongs used to hang up the banners that block off the stained glass windows at church for productions. I am trying to close the windows, but the strange things that keep happening include something weakening part of the pole, and the teacher thinks things won't work. But I kind of manually fix the loose ends into the places they need to be, and they strengthen up again.

Slowly things are changing, and the class setting somehow leads to staying with Buffy (BtVS) and her friends in her two story home in Snohomish, WA, on the hill on 62nd Place, along with the creepy guy who things always go weird around him. He is allowed to be here because somehow Buffy's car had driven into the garage-like pond a couple of years ago, and she couldn't get out because she was drowning. He drove in with another car and half pushed, half pulled her car out, saving her life. He wants to be here because he is creepy, and has an improper interest in all the female Scoobies. All of us males dislike him, but what can we say ... he saved Buffy's life.

But then there is a scene, and some screaming and noise, and it turns out this creepy dude got drunk and drove his truck into the same pond along the side/under the house, and this time it was Buffy who took another vehicle and half pushed/half pulled him out, saving his life and balancing the books. And I point out that things still stay very weird around this guy, because somehow there is some weird sort of time dilation in effect, and even though both events took place two or three years apart, within the pool, itself, they both took place at the same exact time. It is really weird, and the creep may actually be responsible for Buffy needing rescuing in the first place.

The creepy guy is embarrassed about needing to be saved, and leaves, hopefully never to be seen again, and we all head inside to find our rooms and go to sleep, meanwhile, Buffy's mother, Joyce, is standing there in a skimpy robe wanting to know what has happened, and we're all explaining it to her, while I can't help but enjoy the view.
    7. Stopping a Time Traveling Killer and Harry Potter in the Heroes World

      by , 10-28-2013 at 02:41 AM
10-27-2013 -- Not quite sure where I am, as the earliest part of the dream is fuzzy. Might be at the house on Hickory, might be at the Buena Park Mall. Running around, chasing and being chased in the earliest bits. Eventually come across a halfway cute, but young lady (15-16 I'd guess) who seems to be trying to get together with Larry, a roommate I had at the Amidon house. They are in love, and determined to stay so, but her father (who looks like the evil Mexican bandit from the original A-Team pilot (which I watched on Netflix the other day)) seems to intensely dislike the guy, and just glares at him for several seconds, then Larry just disappears into thin air.

The bandit starts bragging about rewriting time back in 1964, to cause Larry to never have even been born, and the girl is devastated. I can't believe this heartless jerk thinks he has the right to wipe out somebody's very existance just because he doesn't like him. That's just not kosher! "Well, at least you mentioned when you wiped him from existance, so I know when to go to, after I kill you, so I can fix things," I say to him, and I reach for him to kill him with a touch, but he disappears. I hear a slight pop behind me, and start to turn, just to see the bandit reaching for me, and I disappear.

We have a weird sort of chase around the mall, appearing here, disappearing there, each of us trying to catch the other, but as time goes on, we start to realize that even when we don't actually see the other person, we find ourselves disappearing if they get close enough to touch us. It seems we are not able to use our powers against each other directly. Finally, I give up, and just end up strolling through the mall, though I am still keeping an eye out for the bandit, because he will probably try to kill me in another way.

By this point the mall has changed from the Buena Park Mall to a strange dream mall I have frequently dreamed of. It has a layout very similar to the Westminster Mall, with it's three 'wings' and three anchor stores, but I always seem to refer to it as the South Coast Plaza, and it's physical location is more like the South Coast Plaza, as well. I am walking to the western end of the mall, which is where I most often seem to enter and exit this mall (odd, since the bus stops are over on the south eastern corner.) I find myself walking through the mall talking with Steve Robinson from PCUMC, while we kind of half watch Bing Crosby, who is dancing through the mall singing to people for some reason. We wander into a clothing store deep in conversation, and don't even notice Bing singing to us until he turns around and starts back out of the store. I turn to Steve and say "Was that ...?" "Yes, it was," he replies. And we call out a belated thank you to him. I decide I have had enough, and walk out the anchor store, planning to catch a bus and go home.

It's late at night, and I walk out of the mall and am heading toward what is sometimes the Sears auto center, but in this dream, there is a big pizza parlor there, lots of customers, bright lights, and a big lit up sign with a slice of pepperoni pizza on it. As I start walking, I remember my popping around, trying to avoid the bandit guy, and I think if I am able to do that, I ought to be able to teleport, so try to concentrate on teleporting myself home to Buena Park, but it doesn't work. Darn! (That's OK, I end up having a better time where I do end up in the dream.)

I walk south to the street, near the southwest corner of the property, then start walking toward the southeast corner, where the bus stop is, but as I am passing a driveway a big rig is pulling out, and half runs into me. It is trying to make a left turn, but is making it too tight, and is almost hitting a smaller truck (along the lines of an armoured car) that is trying to turn in to the same driveway, and I am just kind of riding on the front of the truck until it is past the armoured car and I can safely jump off. Then I continue along. There are a couple of guys that are hassling a lady walking toward the bus station, but they see me coming and run off. Unfortunately, she decides she is afraid of me, as well, and is running in terror, even when I call out I am not after her and don't have any desire to hurt her. She doesn't believe me, and there is nothing I can really do but ignore her.

I walk up to the bus shelter, and as I enter, I see three women standing there, one of them a slightly older, slim, attractive blonde. She looks at me with a desperate longing in her eyes and asks "Can you see me?" but as soon as she asks it, she disappears. I think back to my teleporting, and the bandit traveling through time, and assume random people are developing weird powers, kind of like on Heroes. I figure this woman is turning invisible, and doesn't seem to have any control over it. But she seemed so very afraid, so I just start talking to the air, hoping she can here me. "I'm guessing that usually nobody can see you. The funny thing is, I could, until you spoke, then I no longer was able to." The woman starts laughing almost hysterically, and the others are laughing as well. It seems I have been pranked! Too bad my teleporting is not working!

Instead I get on a bus. Things are kind of hazy for a brief moment, then I am getting off the bus again, and as I exit I look around, and I have only traveled a block from the bus stop. I didn't actually know where I was going, but it seems I am here. I am at a large apartment complex (or perhaps fancy housing estate) kitty corner from the mall, and while I have never been here before, and don't know any of the details, I know somebody has a room for me to stay at here, and I am kind of drawn to it. The area has a sort of castle-like motif to it, and I walk right into a large mansion that seems to be owned by a nice, mild fellow who looks kind of like Pat Boone, that clean cut sort of look.

We walk down a hall, and he is asking himself "Now where should we put you?" He starts to open one door and I catch a glance of a bunch of cool balloon sculptures in Qualatex's neon assortment, and some aliens made from lime green balloons, and I find myself remembering my last year at Hogwarts, and how I taught Hermione to twist figures much like that. I miss Hermione! Wouldn't it be a hoot if ... but no, I'm not that lucky. He walks me down a couple more hallways, and opens a door to a large room with a set of bunk beds in it, and a third bed off to the side. There are three guys here playing loud music. They ask me what's up, and I explain part of the dream to them (from about the point of Bing Crosby to the bus trip) and they explain that they only have one more song to reherse, then they'll shut down for the night, and I can get some sleep on the non-bunk bed. Somebody also says something about the new girl with the bushy brown hair. "Is she going to Harvard by any chance?" I ask, and a voice that sounds very familiar comes from the doorway "Well, actually, yes." I can't see her from where I am at, but I jump to my feet and turn to the door to find I'm looking at Hermione!

She calls my name (though I cannot tell if it is MY name or Harry!) and launches herself at me, crushing me in one of her patented Hermy-hugs. I just wrap my arms around her and hug her just as tight. I didn't quite realize just how much I missed her until I found her back in my arms. I find myself just standing there hugging and kissing her for about five minutes, while the guys playing music get more and more uncomfortable. Then we finally part, and she starts to lead me out of the room and over to hers. (Those were her balloons.) Guess I am going to be staying in that room after all. Hope nobody minds. Wherever we are, whatever this place is, there are a bunch of people staying here, and there are lines three or four people deep waiting to get into either of the restrooms. Hermione needs the restroom, so I just lean against a wall to wait.

I find myself looking out a large picture window, a huge sheet of glass, overlooking what seems to be a bit of a swamp. I see a swamp boat sitting in the corner with almost a sort of step ladder on it, and on top of the step ladder, Jed Clampett (Beverly Hillbillies) looking much like Granny in her rocking chair on top of the packed truck. I hear this evil cackling, and look up to see a stereotypical witch that looks like she could be straight out of the Wizard of Oz on a collision course with the air boat. So I wave my hand and teleport Jed and the boat somewhere safe, and missing him, the witch crashes into the swamp. Seems I have ticked her off, and in a flaming rage, she throws a large fire ball at me, but I wave my hand again, and cause a portal directly into hell to appear, and it sucks her fire ball and herself into it, and disappears with a pop.

I find myself really hoping Hermione gets finished with the bathroom quickly, because I'd really like the help of her mind to figure out just what is going on here!
    8. Another Battle in the Wizarding War

      by , 09-19-2013 at 12:30 PM
09-19-2013 -- Starts out as some sort of Harry Potter dream, though we're going through training that is a little more intense than you usually see at Hogwarts. I can't say if I am Harry Potter or not, but whoever I am, I am very powerful, and oddly, I find I seem to be able to do things nobody else can do.

Somewhere in our training (which seems to involve fighting our way through various rooms, destroying everything in our paths) we end up being attacked by real bad guys, and I manage to kill several of them, which leads to my being suspended or something. The higher ups don't like that I did this, and because of this, they are trying to block the rest of my training and lock me out of what is turning into some sort of military organization.

I end up consulting with Tom Drick, who explains that I have made some very powerful enemies, and I am probably doomed as far as the regular chain of command works ... but ... I already have most of the skills, I mostly need the knowledge that goes with them. There are certain tests that, if passed, and backed up with enough knowledge and power, can bypass the regular education channels. If I can pass these tests, and show the required skill and power (which I already have, so I should be able to do so again) then I will have earned a place in the 'army' that they cannot deny me.

I decide that could be a good way to go, and I soon find myself on what seems like a college campus (not Fullerton College, but it has a lot of that feel to it.) I am walking up the staircase leading to a library, where I need to go in and request the books and things to study what I need to study, and I am also supposed to meet some sort of retired general that Tom arranged a sort of introduction to.

Problem is, there are a lot of older students hanging out around the door to this library, and I am not sure who is waiting in line, and who is just hanging, but since they don't seem to be forming any sort of obvious organized line, I try to walk right past them and through the door into the library. A couple of the punks seem to object to this, and they start messing with me, demanding to know who I think I am, and why I think I can use their library when I am obviously too young.

I try to explain my situation slightly without going into too much detail, but they catch on completely, and tell me there is no way in hell they are ever going to serve under me. They are so intense about it that it becomes obvious we will never be able to work together, and they will obviously oppose me at every opportunity, regardless of the consequences. I am left with no other option but to kill them. I take out my gun, they draw their weapons, and we begin to fire on one another.

One of them, I manage to draw a bead on, and shoot and kill very easily. The other is farther away, and I just seem to miss, almost every time. But I am dangerous enough that he kind of stalks off to find somewhere out of the way to hide and plot for a little while, to regroup. But he is wearing a very rich blue (think Carl's PT Cruiser) shirt that nobody else has, so I ought to be able to spot him fairly easily. I continue into the library to get my study materials.

But it is now more like a bank counter, or perhaps a court counter at a courthouse (with just a hint of the ice cream counter at Thrifty's thrown in.) I walk up to an older gentleman who I recognize as the one Tom arranged a meeting with, and start to explain things, but the word of the the guy I just killed and the other one I was shooting at has spread, and everybody wants to know what is going on. So I explain exactly what happened, and why I did what I did, and the old guy agrees that I probably did the right thing ... but I have made even more enemies, and the guy says I probably need to take the tests and things to push me even higher in their society. He starts to lay out workbook after workbook on the counter, until I have maybe something like a ten inch stack of books and forms and papers and so on.

I walk back out of the library/office, and find myself in a small cafe next to a pizza parlor that seems like one of the pizza places that I always dream of in the New York dreams, and while I try to find a spot to sit in the cafe, I can overhear the guy who got away a few minutes before in the pizza parlor. He is going on and on about what he plans to do to me, and meanwhile they are giving away blue shirts that look just like his, which is going to make it more and more difficult for me to recognize him. It's kind of like they are going to be firing the shirts off into the crowd with t-shirt guns or something.

So I leave my books and stuff, and go hunting him immediately. As I start taking shots when I have a clear one lined up, he starts running again (and firing back) and we have soon made our way to a cross between the wide open space of a large hotel with a huge inner courtyard (think the Renaissance Sea World or the Embassy Suites you once worked in) and a shopping mall. I am looking across the way to another floor, and taking shots at this guy, though the shop he is hiding in is turning into more of a hotel room.

But there is something odd. I hit the first guy so easily, and my shooting was so on. This guy, it is like everything is clear and sharp until my gun is trained on him, then it just kind of fuzzes up, and it is like I can't get a lock ... almost like he has got some sort of magical anti-targeting system on. He is dodging around his hotel room with the door open, and putting things in the way to make my shot more difficult, and I ought to still easily line up a shot, and make it, but it just doesn't work.

Eventually, he has run off from the area entirely, so I guess I am at least too scary to stay around, but I know I will have more trouble with him later. Meanwhile, I have to get back to my books and my meal at the cafe, but it is now several hours later, and near closing. When I get back, I find no sign of my waitress, and have to hunt a bit to find my stuff. I have to leave payment and a tip, but I have no idea what would be a good amount, considering the weapons fire, and how many hours my stuff has been here and in the way. I want to tip well, yet I can't afford to go overboard, and I don't even know what my bill was for.

I pull out a $20 bill and hand it to the waitress, and am waiting to see what her response will be, and she seems at least reasonably pleased, so I am happy, though I find myself thinking back to where I was originally, during this time period, and find myself thinking it is the late 80's, and recalling eating a decent meal at Athenian Burgers for about $5 bucks, and $20 on $5 would be a 300% tip. That feels a little short, but pretty decent, for the circumstances.

Then I come across the actual receipt, and find my bill was only $2, so I feel even better about how much I paid, though I am still running around on the street mumbling to myself about what I paid for meals 'back in' 1987. The older people in the vehicle (a van or bus) that I am traveling in are looking at me and starting to comment on my wording, and saying I must be part of some government time travel program. But they are all past government workers, so they aren't horrified or disbelieving or anything, just kind of interested.
    9. I AM the 12th Doctor!

      by , 07-20-2013 at 02:11 AM
07-16-2013 -- I am at the Hickory house, but it is present day. I was inside, but was being kind of hassled by mom, so I headed outside to take a nap in my car. Except for some reason I end up laying on the ground outside my car where I can look under it and see the rest of the yard. My sister is leaving along with an attractive friend of hers, and I find myself watching the attractive legs while they leave.

A little boy (don't know who he is) comes over and tells me that my mom said for me to get inside. Rather than have any fights about it, I get up and head to my first bedroom, and try to go to sleep, but the door lock doesn't work, and the kid follows me into the room, and keeps bugging me about stuff. Soon he is in my closet, going through my junk, and really starting to bug me.

His mom comes in, and she is a very attractive blonde, though I can't quite place her. (I realize later that it is River Song, but I don't recognize her because her hair is a lot less frizzy than usual.) She seems to be berating the kid about going through my stuff, but it turns out to be much more about berating me. She has the kid pulling out two keyboards from my closet (one I really once had, a small one that was about two octaves short of a full keyboard, and the other full-size) and she somehow starts to push them out a door in the second floor of my room, which until this moment never had a second floor. She claims it was always there, and I just never noticed it before ... suggests that if I don't believe her, I should just ask my roommate Randy (Marcos house).

I am trying to get my keyboards back, so I kind of chase them out of the room and the house, and over to a mall-like area. River continues to berate me, complaining that I don't care about anybody, not even my relatives, and claims that, a few weeks ago when I met David Tennant and Matt Smith I jostled a relative aside as I was getting a picture with them. (In my defense, I would like to point out it was a relative that I didn't even know I had, and I only jostled them accidentally.)

I tell her I don't know what she is talking about, and she proceeds to tell me she is going to send me back in time to 1969 so I can change some things. I say I think she means 1976 (because in this dream '69 and '76 are easy to confuse for some reason), because I have often imagined going back in time to when I was 7 years old and living my life over again to do things better, and try to fix a few big mistakes in the world, if I could, at the same time.

So somehow River sends me back in time, merging me with my younger self two or three times, and it is very hectic and rather crazy. This part of the dream comes across largely as a chase dream, sometimes being chased by people and creatures, sometimes being the one doing the chasing. Parts of it involve government agent Diane Fornell (NCIS) getting caught in a sting operation, and the crooks removing her arms and legs when they catch her, in a sort of flashback to a dream last night where Neville Longbottom was talking about the same thing. Now missing her legs, Diane turns out to be the relative that I bumped and didn't recognize. Turns out she was a big fan of mine, and my not recognizing her sent her over the edge into depression.

Somehow the crooks have caught me and done something to me that forces me into a regeneration, and in the process I grab Diane and hug her, and share my regenerative energy with her, somehow causing her missing limbs to regrow, as I also hug and kiss Abby Scuitto, who it seems I am becoming an item with. [And in two or three dreams in just a few days. Weird.] Meanwhile, I regenerate into the 12th Doctor, but somehow in the three times that I relived my life, I changed parts of history. David Tennant turned out not to be available right at the start of the 9th Doctor's regeneration, so Catherine Tate ended up being the 10th Doctor, and David ended up being her companion for a season, and eventually becoming a somewhat twisted version of the Doctor Donna.

So I am now the 12th Doctor, and I find myself in the middle of the bad sting operation that cost Diane her limbs, but I continue going through and changing the timeline again and again, making a small change here, a small change there, so that when the head crook tells his 20 or so goons to remove her limbs, every single one of them has been replaced with government agents, all of whom turn their guns on the head crook, avoiding Diane ever having her limbs removed in the first place. Decent beginning to my new regeneration, and something screwy enough that what's his name might have actually written it!
    10. Harry Potter and the Evil Spirit / Time Travel with Steve Hite

      by , 06-07-2013 at 05:23 PM
06-03-2013 -- [Guessing on the date. Was somewhere between 05-30 and 06-05. For once, didn't write the date down.] I am Harry Potter, and I am facing off against some sort of evil spirit. I was trusting Dumbledore to take care of it, but he wasn't firm enough, tried to forgive it and rehabilitate it, and ended up getting himself possessed by it, so now I find myself having to take care of it. Hermione is with me, but has no power against this thing. Thankfully, Cedric is also with us, and he and I both have enough power to try and stand against it, and the two of us join our wills ad magic together and manage to force the black shadow out of the area.

Soon we find ourselves looking around the small town that we seem to be in, and are getting to know the town and it's people. We are approached by a very military-looking young man who has just wandered into town, and amazingly enough, I find I recognize him. It is Steve Hite, looking younger than the first time I ever met him (when I was a kid, about 6 or 7, he was probably about 25, but now I am in my 40s, and I find myself meeting him when he looks about 19 or 20.)

We're putting together some sort of town newspaper, and as I tell the people I am working with that Steve is going to be very helpful in helping to train and raise up the kids in the town, they ask me how I know. I can't explain in depth, because I don't know, myself, but I explain there is some kind of time travel thing going on, and that he helped raise me when I was a little kid. They accept that, and tell me that, though each of us has our own story to work on, when we see a reason, we can add information from the other people's stories at the last minute, so lots of helpful stuff about Steve goes into the paper in everybody's stories, and he ends up being made the fire chief of the town.

Meanwhile, there is some small foreign kid who doesn't know how to eat the way we do, and everybody is freaking out about it, so I am trying to get him to come over to me so I can teach him how we eat around here, but as I keep trying to call him over, he eventually turns into a dog, and nobody expects a dog to have good table manners, anyway. Weird little extra bit.

Soon we're standing in front of a store with a roll-down chain front (kind of like the rolldown doors the stores have in shopping malls). We've been given some orders by a corrupt politician (kind of Fudge from the Ministry of Magic) to do something inside, and as we head in, we have to descend a small cliff. The guy with me decides to kind of MacGuyver a rickety zip line, and starts down the slope. I just grab the actual, real zip line just a few feet away, and zip down much faster than him. His, however, takes him exactly where he wants it to, while mine is only into the general area.

Meanwhile, while we are gathering the boxes and things that we are supposed to find, I find myself wondering if I am likely to find the pre-Hite Debbie Hite in this town, as well. In the dream, I know her actual maiden name, but can't remember it, awake. I also have no idea whether or not the dream name was accurate.
    11. Marvel vs DC, James Bond and Future Knowledge, Risk and Mind Reading (Fragments)

      by , 01-24-2013 at 06:58 PM
01-24-2013 -- [Was sick yesterday, and dozed a lot, which means a very bad night of sleeping last night. Seems like I was waking up every 10 to 15 minutes. Because of this, though I had some great dreams or dream fragments, I couldn't take the time to write them down, or I'd have never gotten back to sleep. So, all I could do was memorize a general setting, so we'll have to see just how much of these I can manage to recall.]

Playing some sort of computer game, hints of maybe Runescape or Roller Coaster Tycoon, but its a live version, not playing on the computer. Anyway, I am running around and planting some seeds or placing some flowerbeds or things like that, and I soon find myself running through some odd rooms that kind of make me think of the flash powder factory.

Buried deep in this factory, something is going on, and people's lives are being threatened, and suddenly there is a super hero there to help save the day. I am thinking it might be Aquaman. Darn it. This was the earliest fragment of the night, and also one of the most interesting, but more and more of it is gone.

Anyway, we're now doing things in this area (not that I spend enough time in the flash powder factory to be sure that is where this is, but it is a place with odd rooms, obstacles and traps to make your way through) and there are a soon two or three heroes to help us. But if there are super-powered beings to help us, surely that'll mean there are super-powered beings against us, as well.

Sure enough, as we continue to fight through the area, we start being attacked by other super-powered beings. For our protection, the heroes are loading us into a sort of shuttle craft and launching it, hoping to get us away to safety ... if it can withstand the attack of the bad guys. I think there was some throwaway comment about Doctor McCoy not having a chance to test it because of the timing.

So there are super villains surrounding the shuttle as it takes off, and almost immediately the floor is buckling from multiple hits as I *think* Doctor Octopus is under there pounding on it with all his mechanical arms, and as the floor breaks in, the entire shuttle shakes apart. Suddenly we having flying or powered heroes (Superman, Iron Man, the likes) grabbing us and trying to fly after us, while similar heroes and villains are trying to stop them and catch us, all as shuttle bits rain down on the Earth. It was a rather cool scene.

      ---

I was down at the corner house at Hickory and Greenleaf, and we were in the process of putting up some Christmas decorations without the owner's approval, when the owner came bursting out with the cops. Somebody had been doing something bad around the place. I was afraid I would be in trouble, but the owner of the house says he isn't worried about the people that add to his Christmas decorations, even if he doesn't understand why they do, and I explain that we just like the two houses on the ends of the block to be really well decorated as they help to represent the neighborhood and draw people in to look at the decorations. Weird.

      ---

Half watching, half living a James Bond movie, that may have a small bit at a super market (I can remember just a hint) before a chase started. James was chasing the villain through a long tunnel in a mountain, while we're kind of watching the chase on some kind of monitor. We can see they are about to exit the tunnel, and we're right about the timing. But suddenly things shift to a meeting room where M and a couple of her people are meeting with another high government official, and it turns out to be the guy that James was chasing. He's within the government, itself, and they don't yet have the evidence to bring him down.

Soon I find myself standing in what half feels like a class room, and half seems to be a store in a mall. I have just finished watching the James Bond movie, and in a discussion about it, I end up winking at a sort of cute girl. Unfortunately, just about that time I start to recognize some things, and realize that I have been through this before, and some crooks are just about to attack this place.

Sure enough, four or five thugs burst into the room and start shooting. I act like I've been hit and collapse to the ground, while everybody else is running around screaming and getting shot. I start grabbing other people's legs and telling them "Get down, you fools!" and some listen and some don't. Eventually the bad guys quit shooting, and start to check on who they have and what shape they are in, and begin making threats for the information they want.

I've bided my time, and when they aren't expecting it, I strike back, knock some of them out, and me and some of the others make a break for it. As we make it out of the building we were in, but are still crossing the lawn to the parking lot, we see an attractive young woman still pushing her grandmother's wheelchair away from the scene, and we'd hoped they would have already gotten out of here, but I remember from the past time that they don't have anything the bad guys want, so I urge for us to keep on running, and tell them to continue fleeing as I can.

As we reach our cars and start driving off, I'm shown to have known what I was talking about, as the crooks run right past them, to reach their cars and continue chasing us. Soon we're driving through the streets, being pursued. I think eventually we have a confrontation in a mall parking lot, along with the cute lady, her grandmother, and her kids, who have been dragged back into things, but most the details are gone. Still a fun dream, though.

      ---

I'm not sure which came first, the game or the diner, so I'm just going to put the game first. I am sitting at a small card table somewhere, with a game of Risk before me. I am considering playing a game with myself, but find each color only seems to have 15 or 20 army pieces which aren't going to be enough to play with. So I am looking for the box, hoping it will contain more army pieces.

As I am looking, a couple of other people decide they are going to play, also, and sit down. But if we are going to play, there are things we need to do, including deal out the cards to claim the territories and roll dice to decide who is going to go first. So one guy, who might be Dave D., rolls his die, and I roll mine, and since I only rolled a one, it looks like he'll be going first. So I am in the middle of dealing the cards out into two piles, and two more people decide to join, so Dave grabs another stack of cards, and starts dealing them out for the other two people, and we have to redo the rolling to see who goes first.

Soon I find myself sitting in a diner, right as my food is being brought to me. I think I have a burger and some nice, crispy french fries. There is a guy sitting next to me, clean cut, seems friendly, very unoffensive. Seems like a cross between a Jimmy Stewart character and the 'Happiest Man in Springfield', just a really sweet, easy going guy.

Who doesn't seem to be from around here. He has ordered a meal and is waiting for it, but he doesn't seem to know what it is he is getting. He points at my fries and asks what they are, and I tell him they are french fries. The waitress comes up and asks him if she misunderstood him. Maybe he wants a baked potato instead? No, he says, some of these 'fries' should be just fine.

It's an old-style diner, which may make some sort of sense, because soon the buildings are shaking and bombs are falling from the sky, and it turns out to be in the middle of a battlefield somewhere in World War Two. I'm running out of the diner and looking for places I am needed, and I guess 'Jimmy' does as well.

Soon I see him standing near a soldier crouched with a radio (looks much like one of those little green army men from when I was a kid). It seems he can kind of read minds, even if he doesn't have nearly any clue of what it is he is hearing. So he is just babbling random thoughts and sentences in this guy's ear, of the various thoughts he is picking up, most of which are worthless, until suddenly he starts reading the orders that the enemy troops are being given, as they are being given, which is some very helpful information.

      ---

Probably at least one or two more fragments from the night, but I simply can't remember them at this time.
    12. Harry Potter Fights in a Warehouse, Time Travel, Super-Kinky Non-Sex and Babylon 5

      by , 12-30-2012 at 05:12 AM
11-26-2012 -- [Very little notes on this one, and a month late in entering it on the computer, so almost everything is gone. But I have had several other dreams similar to this one that got noted in much greater detail, so there are other places to see the same type of dream.]

Giant fight / chase dream, mostly taking place in a semi-lit warehouse, much like this dream. We're all dodging back and forth between tall racks of boxes and pallets of products, stacked to the ceiling. This one had a lot of Harry Potter characters in the fight, including Neville and the twins.

It starts as nothing more than some physical brawling and chasing, but soon we've got swords and knives, and things are spilling out of the warehouse/department store it started in, and we're now outside the Buena Park Mall. Neville is an ally, and Mr. Weasley seems to have been forced into the role of a reluctant opponent. In the middle of all this stumbles Susan Ivanova, who doesn't know what we're doing, but finds it pretty easy to stay out of harm's way.

[Wish I'd entered this sooner, as I'd probably remember a lot more.]

      ---

11-26-2012 [Same night] -- Can't pull up any memories of how this started, but I seem to be Spider-Man, and I am approaching a seven floor hotel that I have to get into. I am coming at it from the back of the hotel, and between the building and I is a very large swimming pool. I decide I'll try the ol' slingshot maneuver, and shoot out a couple of web lines to some anchors, then pull myself back, and let loose.

I shoot forward with very little force, and am about to belly-flop right into the pool, so I kind of 'super-jump' it. [A type of dream jumping I've had much experience with, where you jump huge distances, by making just a normal jump, and then just willing it not to end, as the jump gets longer and longer.] There was not enough power behind my slingshot, but I just refuse to let myself drop in the pool, and keep drifting closer and closer to the hotel until I end up landing on a balcony somewhere around the third floor.

I climb inside, and quickly take the stairs up to the seventh floor, and when I come out of the stairwell, I barely manage to stay out of sight of my competition on this case ... Shawn and Gus from Psych! The worst thing about these two in this dream is one of them (almost certainly Shawn, because Gus isn't insane enough to do so) is wearing a mini-skirt, which is just wrong!

I take a ladder to the roof / penthouse area to avoid the two of them, and sneak back in right as Gus is leaving the room. (Shawn was already gone.) There are four teen girls here, and I ask them if they know what are the room numbers of the people we're looking for. They give me some clues and point me down a short corridor leading off from the main one.

I move down the corridor to the first room, which is filled with a couple of jacuzzis. There is a couple going at it in the first one. At this point, I already halfway know I am dreaming, even if it never turns fully lucid, and I've already been using tricks like the 'super-jump,' and at this point, I just kind of try to turn it into a sex dream. I don't succeed very well, however.

The second jacuzzi is filled with a bunch of teenish Japanese anime-style girls, and I jump on in, but instead of landing in the hot tub, it kind of stretches and deepens, and I find myself in a large underwater spa, where I have no problem breathing. There are couples all over the place just going at it, and the bits some of them have are very weird. Somehow this entire spa is somehow a good few centuries in the future, and everybody is just ... different. There is one young lady, perfectly formed, blonde, incredible figure, but she is about the size of a house elf! She is incredibly sexy ... but the idea of her trying to get it on with a full-size male ... no!

I finally come across one nice, reasonably attractive lady who seems to be relatively normal, and we get it on, but the lousy dream skips right over that part, and the next thing I know, she's on her way out, and so am I. As I am about to step into the pneumatic tube system that will pump me back to the surface, a nurse steps up to hand me some pills and schedule my next appointment. She tells me she hopes I enjoy my pregnancy, and I glance at the pack of pills in my hand marked something like 'For establishing male pregnancy'. What? Hell no!

I drop the pills on the ground, and almost shoot into the pneumatic tube heading for the surface. But others are blocking the tube, trying to force us back down, and threatening me, so I'm having to force my way back up. Soon I manage to fight my way back to the surface, and back into normal time, though I now have a fake ID showing I am something like 12 years older than I am, because of odd time effects.

I make a comment on time travel, and say something about how I at least don't yet have to deal with the Psi-Corp, when suddenly a nearby speaker activates, spewing forth some sort of political message in Alfred Bester's voice. The Corp is already here!
    13. Sears at Closing and Babylon 5 Construction in Mall Parking Lot

      by , 12-27-2012 at 03:13 PM
12-27-2012 -- [This goes back to some old dreams from growing up. Had hundreds of dreams like this, but almost never anymore. But I did this morning!]

First bit I can remember (might not even be same dream) I am at a repair shop where they have been looking at my scooter. I have already paid $170 in advance, and am worried about how much more I might need, because I'm out of work and really don't have any money. Thankfully, the guy has finished all repairs, and was easier than he though, and he gives me $70 of my money back! Yeah!

Soon I am a teen or even a little kid, downstairs at Sears in the Buena Park Mall. This is in the old days, before construction and things, back when the candy counter was downstairs. I am in the portion of the store where both the escalators and a stairway came down, near the pay phones and perhaps restrooms (can't remember the layout as well after so much time). There was more to this early part than I can remember, but I think I was here playing video games with Nick. (Full size machines, not the Atari games.)

At some point, I went up to the ground floor (the other floor at Sears was a lower level), and then was thinking of going back downstairs to meet my friend again. Problem is, I am standing at the escalators, ready to head down, but they've blocked off the down escalator. There are a couple of people running down the up escalator, but with my bad leg, I don't think I'd have much luck doing that, anymore. But I really want to get down there again.

Suddenly I remember the staircase also going down that is just around the corner, so I walk over to it and use it. I get halfway down, and I reach a section of the stairway that is damaged, and much more difficult to cross, but I manage without too much trouble. As I get down to the lower level, I find myself looking at a low planter of sorts (only about two bricks tall) with very light brush / landscaping in it, and among the landscaping, balloons, balloon hats, and perhaps my shows and socks (which for a moment may also be made of balloons.) I start gathering my stuff together, and I have got one shoe and put it on.

I find a basic helmet hat I had made, and somehow Nick had either made or found a cool shark balloon that he had somehow merged with the helmet hat to make a cool, more advanced version of Mark Byrne's shark hat. I am still trying to find my other shoe, and deciding I don't really have any need for any of the other balloons right now. I hear voices coming down the escalator, and find there was nothing wrong with the down escalator, they had just blocked it off because it was near closing, and they didn't want anymore people going downstairs.

It turns out it is store security on the escalator, and they are griping and complaining about having to clear out the store, and troublesome customers and the like. Very soon they are pressuring me to leave. I explain I am gathering my stuff (my current gray towel as well as shoes and socks), and I am still waiting for a friend, but it is changing from Nick to Rosemary [my current real life landlord] and some of her family. But they are pressuring me, so I take the escalator upstairs again. When I get upstairs, half the lights are off, so its kind of dim, and obviously the store has already closed.

I approach the northeast corner of the store (my northeast, since my sense of direction was off, due to a bad compass, the entire time I lived in Buena Park) and though I am not being pushed out the door right this second (the store security is still clearing the lower level) I exit a set of doors right by the corner, but facing Stanton, and find it is twilight outside, and it is snowing. I am pretty sure it is about 9 pm, and Sunday, and most of the mall closed hours ago, and Sears at least an hour ago. [In the summer it would be possible it could still be twilight at 9 pm, but in the winter it would have been pitch black.]

I thought Rosemary was right behind me, but she doesn't come out for a while. I look around for a bit, and eventually go looking for her car in the parking lot, a green Dodge Dart-type vehicle (think Chris V.) but a convertible with the roof down. I manage to find the car, and Rosemary's cell phone in it. I grab the cell phone, and with still no sign of Rosemary, start walking back to the doors I exited from.

Oddly I find the same set of doors unlocked, so I pull one open and walk back in, planning to head back to the escalators, but I hear people coming, and find I'm being yelled at by both security and store management, so I head out the doors again hoping that I didn't get myself in big trouble, didn't trigger an alarm, and thinking to myself that if they don't lock the doors they can't really blame me for coming back in.

The store just has too many doors, and I have no way of knowing for sure where Rosemary will come out [the building had three sides facing the parking lot, as well as one side leading into the mall, and I think each side had three sets of four doors, so that's a lot of exits], so as I worry of missing her, I think of calling her on the cell phone I took out of her car. The problem is, it is a fancy advertising model, oddly shaped, and styled with the Mountain Dew logo on it. Both the talk and the off buttons are hidden within the logo and hard to find. Further, I realize I don't know her phone number, and I can't find it in the phone's contact list, because she doesn't call herself much. [My mind never thinks of the fact that she can't answer if I am calling her on her phone, anyway.]

I give up on the phone, but about that time I spot her, walking through the parking lot, almost at the car. I think she has two kids with her, and I am guessing one of them is Lexi, though she looks thinner than she is now. But I am realizing if I am a young kid, she probably hasn't been born yet, and it is probably Cheryl instead. I don't want to miss my ride, so I start hurrying out toward the car, but Rosemary has already got it started up. She is heading toward me, approaching one of the little traffic lanes in the parking lot, but before I can reach her, she starts to turn.

Because I am a kid, I haven't met her yet, and so she doesn't recognize me or pay any attention when I call out to her. I wave at her, and she just waves back. I try and call out I have something for her, and reach into my jacket pocket to bring out her cell phone, but the male kid in the car (probably Jeffrey) cries out "He's going for a gun," and Rosemary floors it and is gone. Guess I can't get her cell phone back to her. I call after her, but it does no good. Guess I have to walk home.

So I slowly start walking along the side of the mall, heading for the May Company end, when I find myself being forced by traffic out to La Palma on an odd curving exit that didn't exist in the real mall parking lot. I also find myself turning into Lennier from Babylon 5, but a quite young Lennier, probably a mid-teen. The traffic is too heavy for me to find a way to cross, and there is the slightest hint of the Circus, like when Circus Vargas would use the parking lot.

Suddenly I find myself confronted by Michael Garibaldi, and we are in the bowels of Babylon 5, which is being constructed in the Buena Park Mall, and Garibaldi wants to know what I am doing here! Me, I'm just a Minbari wandering the mall parking lot, walking home in a small Earth community in the 1980s. No wonder he didn't believe me! He's being kind of threatening, when suddenly big parts of the structure around us seem to almost be collapsing down on us, with razor-like metal claws slicing out of the metal inches from our heads.

We're dodging around, trying to keep both our heads while Garibaldi is screaming something like "They promised me this had been taken care of!" and as things finally seem to be settling, and I have survived intact, I glance at a couple of sets of claws, and kind of flip them further forward, where they lock in place, and secure the beams they are parts of. As I have done this, more and more of the claws are kind of clicking into place, and it begins to seem the entire problem with things collapsing is they never locked these things in place.

We soon find ourselves in a mall-style utility corridor, but in the station, not in the mall, and we're walking to Garibaldi's office, past a couple of Londo's Centauri dancers. Somehow I say something kind of flirty to them, and wildly out of character for a Minbari, and dead silence falls for a few seconds, giving the scene a chance to finish, and finally everybody (including me) breaks into hearty laughter. The others are thinking it is just odd enough that it might be left in the episode, and I am thinking to myself that this acting gig is kind of neat, even if I am a teen again, and I might want to do it as a career.

But moments later, it is back to a real space station being built in the parking lot, and Garibaldi is escorting me out a door back to said parking lot. As we step out, though, I hear the 'dut dut dut dut dut dut dut dut' sound of bionic power being shown, and Sasquatch from the Six Million Dollar Man goes running past. Lou Ferrigno's Incredible Hulk falls out of the sky like he is completing some 100 meter jump, and the two start fighting on the back of a flatbed truck. Garibaldi thumps the back of the truck as a signal to the driver, and he starts to drive off with the behemoths still fighting on the back.
    14. The Affair and the Time Travellers Hotel

      by , 12-20-2012 at 07:37 PM
12-20-2012 -- [First bits very limited, and might even be other dreams during the night.]

I find myself working somewhere that seems to be a sort of a transportation shop ... repair bays, possibly loading bays, things like that. I am scrubbing floors, even as large vehicles are moving in and out. Somebody doesn't like me, and comes very close to hitting me with something very large (a bus?) that is in front of me in a flash, though I manage not to react.

Nobody likes me and they seem to be kind of hazing me. They cause me lots of problems, but I just keep dodging around everybody as I continue to mop the floor, getting more and more of it completed.

Soon I find myself visiting with Dale, Kevin and Fred on the last day of their trip to Disney World, before they fly home, and I am unhappy they have to leave so soon. I find myself thinking if I win the lotto tonight, they can come back tomorrow, and that would be nice.

Soon I find myself in a different place, a sort of casino or nightclub. A fully grown Daphne Greengrass is here, has been involved in some dates or something, and has not been treated very well. She's not been having a good time. I am hoping to step in, change that for her, and have a rather good time myself, since in the dream she is gorgeous. I'm waiting for her to come back from her room or the restroom or wherever sh has gone.

Unfortunately I find myself facing off with an annoyed JK, who is cheating on CK by being here, and is supposed to be the next one with Daphne. I'm disgusted with him for cheating on his wife, and doubly disgusted that he travelled back in time to do so, risking the space-time continuum for such a purpose. And he is telling me to stay out of it. Pah!

We are probably in a nightclub, might be a casino, or perhaps an arcade. I am not sure. But there are a couple of what seem to be pinball games that are somehow trying to block me or interfere with me doing anything about all this, and I eventually stalk off in disgust. I just want to get out of here.

Somehow I have travelled back in time several years. Not sure how many, but almost certainly sometime since I have come to Florida. I find myself approaching what I think is an airport, at first, because I am dodging the main security check point to try and get into the building, using my future knowledge of the place. I step through a side door and enter a sort of lobby.

Unfortunately, the time displacement seems to have a negative affect on a person's biology, and I find myself with a bit of acid reflux, and a mouthful of partly digested food. I run over to a restroom and push open the door. Most of the doors are missing on the stalls, and I can see almost every stall is both very messy, and occupied. I do find one stall that is messy (smeared, unflushed) but empty, and run in and spit out the junk in my mouth. But as I leave, the acid reflux is trying to create more, and I am trying to force the horrid feeling down.

As I walk out of the bathroom, it has become a hotel, instead of an airport, and I am approaching the front desk. I find myself facing a desk clerk that I know quite well from the future, though at this point he has never met me. For some fool reason, I start right in, explaining I am here to book a bunch of rooms for time travellers coming back to the past to vacation.

He considers me mad, of course, but to humor me, he asks me how many rooms I need. He starts to wonder, though, when I tell him he still has 20 rooms available, but I will only take 19 of them, because in the course of the night he will find there is some sort of mechanical problem in room xxx, and I don't want to have to deal with it. (In the dream I knew a room number, but I can't remember it now.)

I find myself quite happy with my new job of making travel arrangements for time travellers, and find myself thinking randomly that at this time Rosie's is still open, also, and I ought to be able to take in a few more great shows there.
    15. The Time Traveling Bookstore

      by , 09-17-2012 at 05:35 PM
09-17-2012 -- [First off, this was not lucid, I did not know it was a dream while I was dreaming it, but part of why I remember the parts I remember so well is because I was recalling the details of what happened earlier in the dream in the dream, not trying to remember it as a dream, but for the possible lawsuit. Also there may have been more before this, and it may have been dull or interesting, but I can't actually remember anything further back than I tried to remember in the dream, except that I am certain that it did go further back. Takes a while to get to the weird, repeat dream, time travel parts.]

Somehow I am in a parking lot of a strip mall. Could be a lot of places, but I'm pretty sure it is on Colonial, near Highway 27 in Clermont. I have no idea why I am here, and everything seems to keep shifting, but I seem to be meeting mom here, and she seems to own a business.

For much of this portion, I am in the parking lot, along landscaped curbs, though it is a business, as well. At one moment, it seems to be a gym that mom owns (anybody who ever met my mom, who weighed over 400 pounds, would know this makes no sense), and at another, a sort of copy center. I am supposed to be doing some work for her, and my 'station' is a table, just sitting in this parking lot.

Somebody knocked the table over, and stuff is scattered on the floor. I am trying to get things straightened up again. Somehow this leads to some time cleaning up litter in the parking lot, and I am talking to mom's assistant, who is kind of cute, looks a little like Rosemary's friend Mary. End up picking up a small sort of alarm clock that has broken into three pieces and am putting it back together so it works.

I ask about it, and they are moaning that it shows the next three jobs we're supposed to be doing, and they are worried things won't get done because the alarm disappeared when the table got knocked over. I explain it was right underneath the table, and I fixed it, and they are happy about it. I am gently tearing what seems to be a page with three coupons on it out of a half-size coupon store thing like I once bought an ad in, as I wait for mom, who is talking to somebody else, inside the store, except that somehow it seems to be some kind of work order for us, regardless of the fact that it looks like a coupon.

Continue cleaning up scraps on the floor, and start to come across several old comic books (ones I have dreamed about in other dreams, within last couple of years) that are just randomly sitting half in the open, half under the tables (that are still out in the open in the parking lot). I am gathering them up to throw them away, except I halfway have some kind of idea that these are some sort of mid-range comic books that are kept under the tables to keep them out of the way. They aren't cheap enough to go in the regular bins, nor expensive enough to be put on the walls, but maybe $40 or $50 an issue. They include a lot of random titles, some old Green Lanterns, and a couple of old Spider-Mans. Somehow this leads to looking at some racks mom has of trade paperbacks, and I am glancing at the thick black and white archive editions of Green Lantern stuff that print 20 or 25 issues in a single $15-$20 newsprint volume, thinking when I have money and a job, I might want to buy a few more.

By this time mom's gym or printshop or comic store is closing for the day, and they are preparing to lock it up. I walk out of the store (finally inside) and head a little north in a mall the store is in. (Almost seems to be the Buena Park Mall). I think I am a few doors down from Sears, and am passing a bookstore that I decide I want to look through. When I first glance at it, it looks exactly like Waldenbooks, but when I look again, it seems to be a different bookstore.

They are probably about to close as well, but they say nothing as I start to browse. It is a long, narrow shop, like Waldenbooks was, and I am walking back the main aisle, looking at the displays on the right side as I head all the way back. As I get to the back, I see these strange mannequin-like figures that seem to be slightly moving or swaying. There is an incredibly long line of them, and they almost seem ready to go down like a row of dominoes.

By this time, I am driving down somewhat narrow roads around some attractive houses while looking at all these mannequins, and soon I am not driving, but being driven. Soon it seems like I am being driven around a very nicely landscaped seaside community. I am seeing people walking their dogs, and somehow I am recognizing things that I drove around or saw years and years ago, though I'm still trying to piece together exactly what it is I am remembering.

We are on our way back, and are getting close to the front of the store again, when I see a small red pick-up truck parked along the curb, and I am suddenly certain I remember that truck. Wasn't that the truck that Ashlyn Gear did a sex scene with some black guy in it? Wasn't it one of the hottest scenes I ever saw? The truck is quite an old model, from the late 70s or early 80s, but it looks brand new. As we're driving past it, I see a door in the building open, and a very young, vibrant Ashlyn Gear walks out and is heading for the truck, followed by a black guy, and everything kind of falls into place.

Back almost 25 years ago, when I was just barely legal, I somehow got a couple of video tapes. One had one pornographic scene on it, Ashlyn in the red truck. The other was a worn video tape of some kind of TV show that had been recorded (poorly) over a tape of porn scenes, and you could catch tiny bits of the porn flashing in and out of the newer stuff. The thing that had been taped over the top of the porn was a drive through the small, well-landscaped community.

I start to confront them about how I saw these tapes 25 years ago, and yet they are only filming them today. And somehow they have an Ashlyn Gear here that is about 25 years younger than the Ashlyn Gear of today. Obviously there is some kind of time travel going on here, and I want to know what is going on. They try to distract me by driving me through a different part of the community, showing me the route I actually remember from the video tape, yet denying there is anything odd going on. I'm asking them to drive slower as we pass the red truck, and am even considering stopping and trying to get into the act.

Soon I am back to the front counter, trying to demand the speak to the manager, except it has turned from a bookstore into a car dealership that sells old classic cars that seem to be absolutely brand new. I keep trying to demand to know about their time traveling method, and they keep acting like I am insane, while trying to sell me a brand new 1980 brown pick-up truck in the year 2012.

We argue for a little while, and I am threatening law suits, and am reminding myself of the entire typed-out portion of this dream in my mind so I can remember it to tell it to the lawyers. Soon I am in the brown pick-up truck, and seem to be kind of stealing it while the sales manager is threatening to call the cops. I tell him he calls the cops and I'll blow the whistle on his whole time-travel thing. I drive the truck out of his lot and on to Douglas Avenue in Altamonte, turning left to drive toward Altamonte Blvd.

[I have no way to prove it, but I am almost sure I had another dream that I was remembering in this dream of driving around the community, waiting for people to cross the street with their dogs, and so on ... though it feels like I dreamed it 10-12 years ago, and not 25 years ago. I can't remember if there were any hints of sex in that earlier dream. I can't remember any, but it kind of feels like it. Weird stuff.]
