A cat's paw see all by itself seems to be emphasizing the idea of "pussy-footing". This would imply not coming down too hard on someone, not treading too heavily or attacking too strongly. Pussy footing can also imply delaying taking any real action.

In your mind you may have disconnected the understanding (the animal's foot) that comes of a real feeling (represented by a cat) making the idea of pussy-footing seem more sinister/evil. [How would you react to the idea that you could be going easy on someone or are delaying taking any action?] The scene can imply that the idea of pussy-footing is making you laugh (being tickled by a paw) but not in a way that the True Self finds pleasurable.

Cats are loners, so this paw might mean you when alone, and regards your movement.
Especially as it started when you had to be with others, school.

I wonder if you had a mix of intense exceitement, and guilt or feeling wrong - or maybe at other times - at wanting so much to be alone?
You could not move, which a cat's paw is for, or maybe did not want to with others so much. Maybe being alone got you nowhere.
Maybe hiding put you out of control which you hated. Maybe even laughing uncontrollably at it, not taking it seriously.
