You know how people complain of english in movies?

Lets say it is a movie that takes place in the future or is people from another country speaking english. For sci fi movies wouldn't the language most likely to be spoken be english? It is the most common language throughout the planet. If there was a "common" language it would be english. Almost everyone at least speaks it as a second language. Then consider a WW2 movie with germans speaking english. What is wrong with that? Almost all of the people watching the movie will be english speaking people. Even most of the germans that would watch it probably understand a lot of english.

Anyways, this would make a nice topic if we had a rant section still, hehe. Isn't there someone here who does not agree with me?

Personally English is my native language and I don't think it is the most common language, just the most common where you live.Anyway I would like for the sections of movies that have other people that normally speak a different language to speak that way, just include subtitles.Because almost everyone that watches those movies can also read in Englisg right?
      You guys suck.

Most common where I live? Well, consider the internet...

And one more thing. Lets say all those highly popluated areas like india, mexico, china, etc all became up to date so to speak. If they became more like most of europe or the US they would more than likely use english as a secondary language. I would have to say about half the people I talk to online are NOT from the USA. Some are from the UK and canada, but still there are many from other countries that do not have english as thier primary language. Sometimes I even play on asian servers (late at night) for warcraft 3. They speak english and not the language of thier countries. Now I could be wrong, but it seems as though english is accepted as the "common" language. Consider books where there are many languages. They still use thier native languages, but when they speak to someone from another area they use common. It is the same thing with english. That is my point. Of course I realize chinese is likely the most used primary language.

English is the universal language (rulling out the fact that some of you believe there are aliens, or in fact you are an alien. )

Lets say a French guy, a german guy, and a Mexican guy get together...what language are they going to speak? English of course.
