Thread: What do you do with Calea

What you bought might not be the real calea zacatechichi. There is a plant going around the market sold as calea but is false. However, there are several ways to identify the real plant from a fake.
Anyway, I recently bought some and I used the tea and smoke method that gave alot of dreams and one particularly long and vivid one. I would advise making an extract for the tea because it is more bitter than a mouth full of soap.

How do you identify if it is fake or not?

Oh cool! The best ways of distinguishing the two i would say are rubbing the leaves, then smelling them, and if they smell like peppery, then it is probably fake.
The other one is the true Calea has a more prominent vein structure.
Also, if its not the most bitter thing you've ever tasted, then its a fake.

Idk i've tried turmeric tea... That was very very bitter.

Turmeric is bitter, but it is only a fraction of the bitterness of Calea.

Hey,smoking Calea destroy a large amount of the active chemicals(which are unknown) and the tea tastes like licking a dogs butt.My suggestion on taking it is to get about 5-6(large dose) and go to a health food store and buy empty pill capsoles and fill em up.take them right b4 bed.My freind did this and it worked great for him.hope i hellpd

i realize i can find the info if i search hard enough, but maybe one of you already has the answer.

If I were to buy the seeds, what USA dealer would you guys recommend. What is the general plant-to-harvest time frame. My climate is North Texas so I figure it should grow quite well.

Also, a question for anyone who has taken any of these dream enhancing herbs; is it like taking melatonin and B-6 before bed, or is there a definite...psychoactive feeling if one doesn't immediately fall asleep. I say this because I love dreaming and handle all normal supplements well, and I am interested in the herbs, but let's just say shrooms weren't the best thing for me to try a few years back (or acid, etc.)

Calea has a mild stoneing effect(kinda like a small amount of weed).The dream part:if you dont become lucid you should have a crazy dream at the miniumum.

I also think,imo that it just erased my usually very good dream recall,much like weed does so i decided since i quit smoking perfectly great tasty weed im sure as shit not going to smoke calea as it tastes as nasty as the tea,

has anyone else just tried grinding it up and mixing it with something (i like it with yogourt) no taste and seemed pretty effective and i would never smoke or drink as much as i can cram into a serving of yogourt

im just also wondering ,since its going thru my digestive system if its at all important to still take it before bed,or is it more important to just stick with it daily and get it in your system??? thanks all and good luck

I bought some. My plans were to grind the leaves a bit, and put them in pills when they come in.

Well my calea arrived today. I still haven't tried (Well minus one leaf to see if it's bitter and/or real; Good lord was it bitter lol), but I made use of some 500 mg capsules, ground up some, and put them in there.
