    Weird waterfall park

    by Azrafox28 on 09-10-2010 at 02:28 PM
Another short, unsuccessful night for recall. I only remember a fragment of one dream which is as follows:

    #1
The setting was almost like a cross between a water park and some kind of natural water resevoirs, stepped at increasing levels to make some really beautiful waterfalls. I was with my friend and her brother, and we were just chilling out as if on holiday. There's a blank in my recall after that, until I end up talking with her brother at the top of one of the pools by the entrance. For some reason, my friend had transformed into a housefly, and we'd managed to lose her in the pools somewhere. Not questioning the change but pretty frantically, we started searching for her. I remember finding a fly being washed down the waterfalls, so I jumped down and picked it up at the bottom, only for it to fly away into a wall. Some third person voice told me that it wasn't her, but then my friend and her brother suddenly came down the steps towards the entrance where I was standing. They looked fine, although the guy was a little pissed off at my messed up judgement.

Then I woke up. A bit of a random, dull night, hopefully tomorrow will be more interesting!

    Second night...

Nothing! No dreams that I can remember at all - I was a little bit over-sleepy last night, and my alarm never went off. Hopefully better luck tomorrow :c

    First entry, and lucid!

Disclaimer: This is the first time keeping a formal DJ, so my style may change with time. Just bear with me - I thought it was best to put *something* up even though my recall is terrible and my writing style is poor.

Wow, alright. I'm finally going to commit to keeping my online dream journal. Adopted yesterday by Spockman, and started getting back into the swing of lucid dreaming again, starting with this. I had 3 dreams last night, the last one being a lucid! So in order, non lucids first:

The first, and shortest dream of the night. I have a feeling it may have gone on much longer than I remember, but here's what i recall. I was playing some kind of video game, only not on a TV, it was more like I was actually *in* the game, controlling the character as a third party. It was heavily influenced by Mario galaxy 2, as well as Sin and Punishment (the two games my brother has been playing recently, hehe). The action was taking place inside a long, giant pipe, with transparent walls. All I really remember is the last part of the action - a big spiral platform that ended in 2 exits, one guarded by blocks. The main character, I can't remember who it was, was floating upward, while the aim was to destroy the blocks using the crosshairs for the secret exit. My brother was talking to me about how to beat the level, from somewhere around me, but I couldn't see him. That's pretty much all I remember. But its my first dream record, so I'm confident that will get better.

I really need to stop dreaming about videogames...

This dream was a little awkward. I won't use real names, cause the topic is a little dodgy. I was on msn, and I was talking to this guy V, who had a huuuge crush on our mutual friend, N (though this isn't the case in real life). All i remember was the outcome of the chat, where I had V spouting off about me setting up one of my other friends, R, with his girlfriend. Something along the lines of "There are 100 x 100 x 100....(etc) people in this country, and you had to choose HER." I remember feeling really guilty, almost as if I'd led him to believe something that wasn't true - it certainly wasn't something I would do in reality. He continued to call me a dickwad, and mentioned something to do with R using the same msn as him. This confused me greatly. Just then, the lights turned on and I was in bed, clothed, using my laptop as my mum comes into the room to wish me good morning. It was the same room I fell asleep in, except it was a TOTAL mess - things all over the floor. I remember as soon as the light turned on I jumped to close the laptop lid, signed off msn and started to take my clothes off (? this was really weird...I think it was to act as if I'd onlly just woken up or something). I also hid my laptop under the bed hurriedly as well as my dream journal. Odd.....since I technically don't have a paper booklet-style dream journal in real life, not to mention I totally missed this chance to have a lucid! She was pretty surprised I was awake, but told me straight away to clean up the mess I had made. i remember climbing down to a hidden compartment in the side of my bed, where there was an opened jar of purple crystals, almost like a powder, though I had no idea what these were. All I knew is that they were all over the floor, and for some reason I freaked out. Then, for no apparent reasons at all, the scene changed to a wall-like slideshow. First, a picture of waffles at a local supermarket. Then, a Nazi flag. Then the dream ended.

Seriously fucked up dream right there.

A lucid dream! I can't remember for the life of me how it came about, no RCs, just realised I was dreaming as it went along. I'd say it was semi-lucid, but I *did* know I was dreaming and I did exert some good control. Only problem was the recall, I forgot about half of it, so what I put here is just the end part and a general overview. The setting was some kind of indoor temple arena, almost like the setting for some kind of FPS game. There were 3 chambers, 2 of which were identical but opposite one another, and had large pools of water. There was a third, smaller circular pool in the main room, and a tall altar in the middle. There were a few other people there who I didn't know, all of whom were apparently lucid and testing their dream powers. I find this really interesting - the setting seemed almost like a training ground for lucid dreamers, and I had absolutely no control over these other characters - they were displaying the same world-altering abilities I had. I don't know what people would make of this, I am skeptical about shared dreaming but I was curious if other people had been in a similar dream, maybe?

As the dream progressed, I had forgotten the list of lucid tasks I had set for that week, so instead I was practising a lot of interesting abilities off the top of my head. I was manipulating the ground like some kind of landscaper (think Samuel from Heroes) using a variety of interesting techniques - using telekinesis, a virtual HUD kinda like on Maya or a similar program, even changing gravity to create some weird and wacky shapes with the ground and the water. I practiced dream flying and shooting fireballs too. There was some kind of minotaur looking monster there as an enemy for practice battle, and at some stage I remember my mum (again) coming into the dream to see how I was controlling these things. The final part of the dream was an attempt at transformation, which failed the first time but surprisingly, worked after that! I transformed into a werewolf (a goal I've always wanted to try) but I woke up before it was complete, so I'm not ready to tick this off my list just yet.

Overall, compared to most of my aimless, short, blurry lucids, this one was quite something. It felt like it lasted 30 minutes, maybe longer, and the level of detail was incredible. I managed to go the whole dream without thinking of my sleeping self, and without needing to dream spin or try desperately to keep the dream scene together. I'm thinking this could be because I was trying out a lot of new things, rather than wandering around aimlessly, summoning girls and trying my hand at dream sex *facepalm*. Control seemed good, I just need to focus more on remembering my lucid tasks, and RECALL. I'm a little bummed that I don't remember so much of this dream, when the parts I do remember were above par to what I usually experience in an LD.

Overall, a very successfull first night not long till I head back to bed and hopefully have another lucid!
