    Task of the Month Attempt

by whiteink on 03-03-2011 at 12:22 PM
Red = Lucid Blue = Dream Black = Information

Here is my lucid from last night. It was a DILD and my first real attempt at a TotM, even if it was only the basic task.

I can't remember exactly how this dream began but at one point I was involved in some sort of car race. I remember travelling around the track. I was in a car in the back of a semi-trailer that was reversing at speed around the race track. When we came to the straight I knew I had to drive the car out of the track and jump it through some hoops. This all seemed to make perfect sense at the time.

As I jumped through the first hoop I dived out of the car and slam-dunked a basketball through the hoop. This may have continued for the next few jumps, but I can't remember.

Eventually I remember holding onto a big blue rock climbing wall. Basketballs were hanging off hooks in a line directly above each other all the way up the wall. I was about 7m up the wall. It was around this time that I randomly became lucid! I grabbed a basketball and looked up the wall at a hole I had to dunk it into. I realised it would be hard to jump, so instead I should just fly. I flew up and dunked the ball, but it didn't really fit down the hole. I was impressed that I could fly so I flew off the wall and around the area I was in for a little bit.

About this time I remembered the task of the month.
I didn't expect I would be able to make it to the moon to easily as I have had trouble making portals recently, so I decided to attempt only the basic task.

Eating a piece of fruit sounded easy enough, so I decided to look in the fridge. I flew down from where I was hovering and into a door which was conveniently located next to the rock climbing wall. Inside the door was a place that looked a lot like my kitchen. I went over to the fridge and opened the draw that I keep the fruit in. Inside it was a lot of fruit. Strawberries, watermelon, rockmelon, lemons, and pears. All except the strawberries were chopped up into smaller pieces. I grabbed some watermelon and ate it and then ate some strawberries. Neither tasted as sweet as they do in real life. The rockmelon also tasted dull, and I was able to take a huge bite out of the lemon without it tasting sour.

Not long after this I woke up into another dream, briefly went lucid and then woke up in real life.

    Sleep with one eye open

by whiteink on 10-24-2010 at 07:58 AM
About a week ago I had a weird (and short) lucid dream.

In real life: I was camping and sleeping under a blue tarp.

In the dream: I realised I was dreaming (I can't remember how). Through my left eye I could see the outside of a small building, but through my right eye I could only see blue. At first this didn't bother me and I decided to do a reality check to confirm I was dreaming. With my right eye I looked at my nose and I was very surprised to find that I could still see it. I moved my head and the image in my left eye changed but my right eye stayed the same. The dream was unstable and I desperately tried to stabilise it, but the fact that my eyes saw different images didn't help.

Shortly after that I awoke and found myself staring at the blue tarp which was above my head. I realised that in my dream I must have had my right eye open the whole time.
