      Exclamation Dreaming or awake?

Could anybody help me out with this? So usually I wake up in the middle of the night and then go right back to sleep. As I went to sleep I actually watched my self go to sleep I was aware and so I started doing the fild technique. by the way I actually wasn't trying to do this something just told me to start moving my hands so started moving my hands back n forth.I went to sleep and woke up like I was in a dream and found myself with my eyes moving really fast back and forth but my eyes were opened. What is this ? I actually was still sleep. Was I dreaming ?

Most dreams occur during the REM stage of the sleep cycle. REM stands for "rapid eye movement" referring to the rapid movement of the eyes during this stage of sleep. Sometimes when we wake up, we'll still be in REM sleep, even though the dream is over. I think that is what you experienced.
