      An Impromptu Verse or Two

Softly thinking, I see your outline in the sand
The waves wash over you, as I reach out my hand

To meet someone so much like me,
      In strength, desire, audacity

I think of what might be from afar
If for only one moment we could forget who we are

Is this for everyone to think of a impromptu Verse or Two? (i would like to join in if it is )

I like your style of writing

that picture at the bottom looks like Johnathan Davis
"I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you".

That would be great if others also put some verse here.

      Go for it.

      Dreamatu

      Beneath ivory towers, foundations deep
Memories of hidden angst did creep

      Forever moaning, lusting, groaning
Hoping one day to rule the world

      From exalted peeks, daylight sleeps
But night has found a home

Accepting eyes that ignore the truth
May noble causes be not in vain

      And comely brides forever joy
In lovely touches and lustful boys

To be renounced of pride and hate
Til' all the world accept its fate

Trodden down by foot of man
      In ignorance of simple plans

I really like the first one EJ....it reminds me of something I'm going through.

I'll have to read the second one later, when I don't have so many people up my butt. =/

nah Ob..i like the first one...much more poignant!

      hmm...i'm not good at impromptu...
      lemme think about it!

      ah, i know...this isn't gonna be brilliant!

      Standing on the edge
      Of something she doesn't understand,
      she waits for a sign.
      which way to turn?

      Forward is the unknown,
      safety is back behind her.
      But what does she want?

The dark mystery of a new
sensation, or the safety of what she
      knows already?

It's pull is stronger than she,
      she holds out her arms,
      and steps off the edge,
      and finds wings to fly.

Okay, so it has no title, and i think it's rather nonsensical..only i understand it.
'all of the moments that already passed/
try to go back and make them last.'

I love your signature picture Irishcream.

      Ok....extemp...

Daring visions of mortal men and elfish women

Sparing the pain of secrets told

      Of anxieties vague and old

      Planted by religious deceit

To keep us bound hands and feet

But all freedom comes with a price

Mixed with tears in Irish glenns

When merry lovers dance among the ferns

      hey, i like that!

it puts me in mind of the tale of Aragorn and Arwen in The Lord of the Rings...he was mortal, she was an elf...such a sad tale...

try to go back and make them last.'

      distance is the saviour
      the safe glorious emptiness
      soul slowly draining
      will disappear anyday now.

      closeness is the saviour
      the warm glowing fire
but each cut takes a piece
      the end is the same

      another:
      ----------

      lies
      truth
      what difference does it make
      and why do you care?

      trust me
      trust you
      with piece of my security
      why should i risk anything?

      piece of you
      piece of me
      you had more than enough
i've given all i'm willing to.

      proof of concept
      proof of authenticity
      given the evidence
      no wonder you're suspicious

      my self
      my soul
      is not your soul
walk away there's no point here

      bemused
      confused
      i have to wonder
      why do you care?

      deep calls to deep
      scars to scars
      emptiness to emptiness

      each alone in the dark
      but together in existence
      makes lonely loneliness

      in the endless black
      a secret is told
that souls can touch and be reborn

      patiently quietly study my mind
      defiantly quietly embedded in time

      little oblivion
      triumph of laughter

      the hangman does smile
      despite his demise

      add numbers to be multiplied
      countries to be divided

      who shall bare witness
      to a woman so chided

      exuberant in youth
      bitter in mothering

      a world of lost children
      rush to the smothering

      do feel and do see
what has been lost by the free

      when taken by fear
      they do hide every tear
