You are amazing at abstract. I draw abstract a lot, but not nearly that good. It would probably take me a couple of days to do something mabey half that good, haha. Also, if anybody here still goes to school, abstract is one of the best things to doodle. It takes up time, and it's just plain fun. I do it all the time.

      Hey Lance,

I'm pretty critical when it comes to abstract stuff. To me it either tends to easily become junk or mindless movement on the board or canvas. With your pieces, I don't know where to begin:

The variation of your lines is most intriguing! Not only do you vary the widths and tone, but the play of organic vs. geometric lines adds a bit of tension and movement somehow that keeps me looking around. Color I enjoy on a personal level, not heavy and rich yet vibrant enought to enjoy and leaning more towards the earth tones. There also appears to be some thought, or system to what you're doing. There's nothing that irritates me more than looking at a piece of "art" that just has that look of thoughtlessness.

Most abstract art I've come across holds my attention for maybe a minute - I'm just not that into it personally. With your pieces however, I just keep looking for something that I feel is there - hard to explain. Like I know there's something in within the image that I haven't quite revealed yet. And you know, that's what abstraction is - isn't it?

I'm really not as much of a critic as I might have come across here, but I thought a simple "I like it" was inadequate. Great stuff Lance - thanks for sharing it with us

      PS - I liked Issue#5's 1,2, 4(your sig) and 6 most.
