i don't really know anything about mack trucks... judging by the headlights i would think early fifties or even forties.

this photo has a funny story to it. my friend and i (she's the gal in the portrait shots) went driving through some backwater towns in arizona and we ended up in this tourist trap called jerome. well we just followed these signs saying "this way" ... we kept joking about how it was some sadists trap to lure unsuspecting college student into his clutches. well we're eventually led to this dirt road that winded through deserted mining facilities... then through a car graveyard and eventually to this "mining ghost town." well we pull in sometime in the morning and it stirs this old man on the hill above us. he gets into this old heap of a car (1930's ford or something) and drives a whole 40 feet down to us. there's a shotgun in his passengers seat... he says that the town isn't open yet and suggests that we come back in an hour. we ask him if it's alright for us to go foraging around his car graveyard and he says yes.

      it was creepy.

A couple of relatives of mine recently visited Jerome (separately), and they both loved it. I haven't been there since I was a little kid.

      my first try at color.

i haven't tampered with these yet. they were taken on e-6 and scanned straight from the negatives.

I reckon the last one would work better in b&w.

      Beautiful

      simple but beautiful.
These cool deep waters where I do dwell, unspoken secrets I long to tell.
Darkly in your dreams, nothing is as it seems and these images disguised so well.
Cry out to be unmasked by careful gleanings are the hidden deeper meanings..
