      My poetry

      Angel

      "There is eternity..."
She whispered, in the shadows of my doubt.
Her lips a breeze against my ear.
      I felt her kiss once,
      When I pleased her greatly,
And the flutter of her wings bore my hopes to Heaven.

She picked up the shards of glass
      That fell in glittering showers,
The razor edges did not cut her pale fingers
And she mended the pieces together,
As she has done before, and before...
Each time someone put their fists
Through the mirror of my dreams.

I wished upon a tired star
That had faded at the dawn of time,
      And I remember wondering
How many stars have burnt out
When hopes and dreams depend on them?
She lifted my bowed head and smiled
"Their light has not yet fallen..."

She has raised me up when I was down
And even still her memory fell from me.
      How could I forget her?
Her tears fall as pearls in my hand,
      And still I can't remember.
As she engages her sword in battle
With the dark-one who claws her with red nails
      Scraping against her fair cheeks.
      She fights for me
      And I walk away, unnoticing,
      Never hearing her scream...
I have become an angel this night, bearing wishes on pearly wings. While dancing upon clusters of stars and cosmic nebulas, into some enchanted, celestial ritual that turned me into a constellation...

Close your eyes for sleep beckons.
The gates of slumberland swing silently open
To reveal a mystical world with no boundries.
I was human when the mists bore me from the arms of fair Earth.
And carried me through these realms of endless possibilities.
Where every memory is ancient and new
      And time has no meaning.

      Anything can happen here.
      Flaming pixies whirl and twirl,
Bright faeries with colorful wings swirl.
The little elf winked at me,
And how he grinned so impishly.
How I delight in these mischevious creatures.

I have become an angel this night.
      Bearing wishes on pearly wings,
While dancing upon clusters of stars and cosmic nebulas,
And into some enchanted, celestial ritual
That turned me into a constellation-
      An angel now a goddess.
I have become an angel this night, bearing wishes on pearly wings. While dancing upon clusters of stars and cosmic nebulas, into some enchanted, celestial ritual that turned me into a constellation...

      Dreamscape 2

Far beyond the solid earth and past a level or two of
mortal consciousness, through misty corridors and
labyrinths of intelligence, lies the wayworn path to
      the world of enlightenment.

'Tis but the mischievous realms of fairies and cheerful
dragons who beckon the sleeping spirits into this place
of cloud and confusion. Then twinkling cherubim peek
down at them from the celestial heavens and whisper
visions of strange fantasy and dim meaning into the
      slumbering head of could-be angels.

Ne'er hast there been a clear horizon in this starlit land
of the night. Forever a tangled, endless fog of enchantment,
made to be explored by those who tire of the busy,
restless limitations of reality. They visit frequently and
always return home, bringing with them unheard wonders
      of thought.
I have become an angel this night, bearing wishes on pearly wings. While dancing upon clusters of stars and cosmic nebulas, into some enchanted, celestial ritual that turned me into a constellation...

      Abbey

      Abbey

      We hated each other,
      on summer afternoons,
When she'd rather eat in the shade
of the cherry trees and blackberries
And I'd rather her just stand
      and wait
      Instead of chasing her across
the wide expansure of the field
      where she once grazed.

      We bonded, loved
on long rides and cattle drives,
      Lunging up rocky terrain
As agile as the deer that
      dashed behind every hill,
But as careful as a mule
down the steep path of the Grand Canyon.
      She a good mare,
      and I, a good rider,
      We could have conquered mountains.

      I don't ride these days,
She'll bear a foal someday soon,
      and I've moved to where
the sound of hooves against dirt
is silent over the rush of the highway
      before me.
I miss the scent of her,
      on my fingers,
      dirty from leather and sweat.
      on my clothes,
stuck with hair from her impatient nudges.
Hurry up, get on, lets ride.
      She seemed to say...

      A little carefree I was,
      when I said goodbye.
As she left, I told her I wouldn't miss
chasing her across the pasture anymore.
      But I think I wouldn't mind
      running those grasses again
for just one more ride with Abbey.
I have become an angel this night, bearing wishes on pearly wings. While dancing upon clusters of stars and cosmic nebulas, into some enchanted, celestial ritual that turned me into a constellation...

That is some damn good stuff.
I am glad you have decided to share those with the forum.
      ALLdreamers should read "Dreamscape"
I enjoyed the third one the best, (untilted) - yet I understand it the least.
I read it four times. there is somthing there. Like figurung out a math problem and saying , Oh ya that was easy. There is a meaning to that poem that I can't qiute catch. But it is there.

      poetry

      Hello Howetzer,

That untitled poem is simply "Dreamscape 2." I wrote those dream poems back in highschool. Hehe, I'm somewhat pleased you couldn't get the meaning right away. I wrote that trying to be as obscure as possible, as dreams are very obscure.

The dream is real, my friends. The failure to realize it is the only unreality.

      Cliffs of my body

I stood at the cliffs of my body,
Staring down at an abyss of love,
And Your Spirit hovered over me.
Tears spilled from my eyes as I
      realized Your beauty,
      And remembered Your face,
      on the silent, sleeping composure
      of Your people.
      Then You pressed Yourself close,
And I fell in Your loving embrace,
      Drunk with love for You.

      Your heart pounded in mine,
With a rhythm so powerful and loving,
No drum could ever imitate it.
      Then we were dancing.
Waltzing on the shores of my spirit,
Where the waves of time crashed at my feet,
      And washed away mortality.

      I'll never forget those emotions,
When I stood at those cliffs,
And You whispered the promices of
      eternity in my ear.
And I raised my arms to You and shouted,
What Saint Teresa said so perfectly:
"My God- my God! How I love Thee!"
I have become an angel this night, bearing wishes on pearly wings. While dancing upon clusters of stars and cosmic nebulas, into some enchanted, celestial ritual that turned me into a constellation...

      Sonnet - Shadows Casting

      Sonnet - Shadows Casting

I see shadows cast their misery across your wretched face
Like fire cast light and shadows upon the floor.
You lost your love; fell from love's grace
And remain in loneliness forever more.
Tormented by this ancient and eternal sorrow
Which resembles naught but bitter rain.
Sad eyes that shower tears today and tomorrow
But just like the moon your sadness wanes.
As the days pass wearisome and slow, you'll learn
To embrace each morning with gradual growing cheer,
      And forever your heart may ache and yearn;
Your eyes will be blurred by fewer tears
      Of the loss of your love and love's granduer;
The days of your life are less dark and drear.
I have become an angel this night, bearing wishes on pearly wings. While dancing upon clusters of stars and cosmic nebulas, into some enchanted, celestial ritual that turned me into a constellation...
