Like most dreamers I have a taste for surrealism but also enjoy drawing the female form. Which is your favourite? I'm working on another right now called White Lace, the translucent white is much hard to draw so it's taking me a while.

The first one is my favourite, but I also like the second one. They are all well drawn, either way. Well done.

I just want you to know that I deleted the img tags but left the links. Your artwork is very well done, but we try to discourage posting any form of nudity, partially in case members don't pay attention and click on the topic. Let me know if you have any questions.

I felt that you captured the posture and position extremely well in particular! Do you have a site where you keep your drawings?

Seriously, amethyststar? I'd be pretty surprised if you can find one person who hasn't seen worse than that after being on the internet longer than a week. I think that pencil drawn, tasteful nudity really is not that big of a deal. It's not like it's photography either.

I agree; besides, there hasn't been one depiction of the vulva in all of these.

      On the actual pictures:

I love the third one, it's excellent. That is amazing shading you've produced there, and the proportions are almost perfect.

Overall I'd say to work on your hair, as it sort of detracts from the art--it seems out of place, almost stylistically different. Also, your faces could use a bit more work, considering the strength of your human form.

I like those very much. The human figure is awesome.
respectively, I think art is a great way for youth to learn culture and anatomy.

A still life of a human figure is something to be admired certainly not ashamed off.

But forget about right or wrong about the art.

Heather is my favorite. Beautiful post that captures a woman like quality. No need for worrying about composition, for there is no background. So you can solely pay adequate attention to the figure which is very well proportioned.

[EDIT]Man.... Joseph_Stalin Has a good point. The third one is nice.

      Oh, and about my opinion

Amazing drawings. Did you use references? Amazing either way.

My only complaint, as Stalin said, is the hair. No offence or anything, but on the hair for the first one, it is more many scribbles directed in the same direction than hair. It is nice around the ears (the scan quality detracts from it, however), but the rest needs a little work. Amazing shading and proportions, though.

Thank you, I know I have trouble with the hair, I think I'm getting better at it though, I think I got the fourth one alright. Yeah I used references, not models or anythings, they were pictures that I found on the internet, I just altered them to better suite my drawing skill and style. In fact type 'artitistic nude' into google and the first image is the basis for the third drawing. I did these for practice, now I'm doing things either from imagination or with a model.

I'll never draw a picture with exposed female genitalia, I'm not opposed to it or anything, but I think that ventures into eroticism of which I'm not a big fan. I just think that the vagina is erotic and not artistic, not like the way the shadows play off of a pair of breasts. But I'll keep the posts to links from now on because it's a humble forum.

Cool. You do good work. I would say that the first one is the best. Though for critique I'd say the face and hair don't seem to be as good as the body. You did very good work on that and it has a good shape, form, and seems not flat. The face still seems like someone just learning drawing. I like the soft dreamy quality of your pencil work.

I like the second one also. It is very cloud-like and dreamy.

The others I don't like quite as much because they seem rather flat. The nipples don't seem in the right space and there is no roundness or form. It is like you are still drawing symbols of naked people not the shapes that actually create the 'realness of form'.

You might like Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain by Bette Edwards. And, as always, I recommend everyone have Andrew Loomis drawing instruction books. http://www.geocities.com/SiliconVall...939/index.html this is a link to an online copy of Figure Drawing For All Its Worth. The book is over 40 or 50 years old but Loomis still has a 'fan club' of people and more every day. Google Loomis. There is another website that has scans of 4 or 5 more of his books. They are not in print any more and hard to get. When one is on ebay it is like hundreds of dollars.
