Yah, I think you're right about the shoulder. It's not necessarily bulky, like a guys, but it might be a bit too pointy. The figure is leaning on that arm a bit, so the shoulder should be pointing upward a bit - instead I got it mostly pointing outward, making it look more defined. I wonder if I soften the edge just a bit if it would help.

The clavicle is a bit too defined as well - but again, if she's applying pressure to that spot...

I think the shoulder is in proportion, but you're right, the clavicle is too prominent. If she was like really skinny it might stick out that much, but the rest of her is well-built, so I think it's a little too noticable.

Actually to me it looks to be the opposite. The clavicle looks about right since the weight on that arm is drawing it up and making it look unnaturally pronounced but it seems like the shoulder is set just a little too far our. I guess though, if we can't come to a consensus on what exactly is wrong with it, it must be so minor a flaw that most people wouldn't notice it at all.

      Sexy, and subtle

HOW Do I not know about this???

[[As you know Joe, I can sit here and compliment your work for days.
I am fortunate enough to get to see these works of art in person.

So Instead I will try to use a little constructive criticism.
I think you have began to loose the female aspect on the foreground figure.
While woman have curves, it seems that there is too much curvature on and around the butt. Perhaps the foot is a tad large as well
It does not seem to look as profound until the tribal paint.
That is my 1/2 one cent worth.
      Otherwise, Another fabulous piece Joe.

I don't think the shoulder and clavicle are too prominent in the figure on the left - that's what a shoulder would look when you are resting your weight on it in that position. I would leave it alone.

But I agree that the figure on the right is starting to look less feminine - I think for me it's because of the bald head and the large-ish foot.

Great job though, Joe! The markings are awesome.

I see others have said that.
      I really don't see it.

The fact that all of her weight is resting on her two shoulders and the gesture of her idling backward, I think would give that impression, no?

Yeah, the entire pose took a while to flesh out and you can see from the amount of sketches I did originally that it went through quite a bit of modification. I think I may have modified one portion of the original pose just a bit too much, making half of it fall a bit beyond the human limitations. I think she needs more hip bone, but then it may not look as 'sexy'. I'm not sure. Maybe if I play with it a little bit now that I can look at it again with a fresh perspective I can figure it out. As for the foot, I totally see that now. It might even be the heel a bit too pointy.

Well you know I've often come across photos of people (usually athletes) in which the pose they were captured in seems a bit unnatural or impossible. I once saw a pic of Michael Jordan in which his arm and elbow just didn't look right at all - almost as if it was broken. Yet, it was just the way his arm looked from that angle at that particular second. Had an artist drawn him in that exact pose, he would have been forced to correct that or it would look wrong. But, how can you correct reality?! It happens more often in pictures of pitchers as they're throwing the ball. I actually kind of like catching photos like this now. I'm sure that's probably what many magazine "airbrush artists" do for covers - correct things that are naturally correct - just don't look quite right or 'ideal' (I'm talking aside from blemishes like cellulite and wrinkles).

Ok, update on the bottom trunk/vine thinggies:

I finally decided to just sit down and finish this one up. It was intended to be a practice piece for the larger version anyway. But, I got a bit carried away with it and started knit-picking little areas. So, I slapping down some paint and got it to the point where it's presentable.

Here's a close-up (sorry, but these pics keep ending up washed out. )

Dagh! I always forget to try and keep track of that. Not sure

      Could I make a request?
Eh, sure - that's what this one was.

I love those braids especially, man
Yah, I had to go back and redo that a couple times - I didn't realize how much attention it actually drew from the viewer until I started rendering it. Probably cuz there's no other texture like it in the picture. That might change, however, if/when I do the final piece.

On a side note: I just bought myself a new sketchbook the other day (haven't had one in a long time) - so hopefuly it will inspire me to do some more drawings. I have a bunch of other ideas for things to incorporate in future pieces (like more hairstyles, piercings, kinbaku, etc) - I just need to start sketching them down on paper.

Thanks all for your support - you're really the only one's Ive shared this stuff with so far.

      More to come!

Very nice; that was really cool seeing the work in progress. I like the how the facial expression turned out too.

      Very beautiful

What size is this T Joe?

Sorry if I missed it somewhere?

There just is something, an essence of sexuality or an aura of sensuality that woman/woman can give to a piece of work.
I can't put my finger on it.

I don't mean 'guys dig the whole lesbian thing either.

      The locks rule

I don't have it around at the moment to give you accurate measurement, but I'm guesstimating its somewhere around or over 11"x17".

      Ok. Cool.

I think I am getting a crush on the girl with dreadlocks.
I have a name for her and everything.

That innocent feel you have given her with her gesture. First kiss, no doubt by another girl.
