Vampires in the night
A soulless one in the dress of a fine gentleman walks the streets of London at night undaunted by the freezing winds. He passes through the streets lined with upper class houses but suddenly he stops in front of one house to gaze in the window. The hall is brightly lit and dozens of both young and older couples dancing about to a lively tune that drifts out to him. Many people of all ages are standing around the dance floor chatting and conversing with vigor as the songs go on and on. The wanderer is suddenly startled by a young couple bursting out of the front door and into a carriage that had just pulled up. They hop inside quickly but before the servant closes the carriage door he observes the girl holding closely to the man as he arranges blankets over their laps. As he watches the carriage roll away a single tear runs down his cheek as he remembers the long centuries of solitude he has lived alone since his one love was taken from him by her own mortality. The strong sense of loss and hatred consumes him as the now frozen tear on his cheek cracks from the frost that has engulfed it and turns into dust that is swept away by the brisk winter winds.
I wrote this a couple days ago, hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it =).
