      Sci-fi art I created

      Here they are:

And for you Trek fans out there (A REALLY quickly done drawing which I am still not happy about to this day...inked by hand *shudders because he did this with an extremely crappy pen*)...

There are some other, non-sci fi related ones I might dare to show, but I won't post those just yet.

Yes, to what I could remember When I watched the Xindi-arc again, I realized how incredibly off I was...My embarrassment continues

I still think it was pretty pathetic/halirious, that Archer, even while tied up, was still making demands

I did 'em in Photoshop. Basically just a lot of experimentation, and me being a fanatic with colors. The first spaceship one, was done by: inking with the digital pen tool, and then filling in with color. Because when you auto-select areas, there are small regions (sorta like a white border) that are left white. Originally, the image will look very bland and have many noticable inking errors, but adding in color on a lower layer fills in these gaps. More of a blending in your eye that makes it pleasant.

The space chunks were lighting with a sort of hue tool...I can't remember exactly, but it should come back to me soon enough. Same thing with the land and seas. I colored with a base, but afterwords added in some effects with a lighting tool in the center to give it that "clean and vibrant" feel (also done with the spaceship).

A tip to getting good colors when you're digitally painting, is to try and be simple. That way, you won't overwhelm your image (and possibly yourself), and you'll get a good idea what you're trying to show. Try to keep in a basic "light" category. Take, for example, dark reds, and dark blues, and add certain effects to that "light" spectrum. Most of all, use good judgement.

And, always try to experiment. CTRL-ALT-Z until those buttons break (Backwards shortcut), and try a different coloring approach, or different inking style. Also remember to save some copies of your project, so that if you do change your mind, you don't have to dig through so much; you can "Branch off", so to speak.
