hate to hate...

there is so much hate,
and not enough joy
to balance all things out,
and when you get overwhelmed
you just want to shout.
to the heavens above
to the earth below
to everyone around.
but even though you open your mouth,
no one hears a sound.
is it because they were born deaf to the world
or because they choose to be
someone who doesn't give a crap
about what happens to you or me.
i guess what i'm saying is that we need to act,
don't leave it up to fate,
because so many things can go wrong
that we cannot help but hate.

remember...
to remember is to reminisce,
upon the good and bad,
to think about the things
that long ago you had,
it's to remember long lost love
and to regain the truth,
of hurt, pain, and disloyalties
of when you were a youth.
it is never to let go,
or try to disguise,
the sins, and the morbidity
of all your past lies.
to remember is to reminisce
and think about the past,
but to also look toward the future,
for it's approaching fast.

Nice work Orozco! I'd put line between-

'Lies.' and the second 'To remember is to reminisce.'

Do you recognize how my hair flips?
How my face transgresses for you.
How my fingers twitch and I lick my lips,
All in the name of you?

My fondness of you carves an aperture
Where your tired head may lay
My inanimate soul will finally move
To light for you the way

I have held my lips shut, held my arms open,
And they sway with the intent,
Your touch and your soul, your self in control
Not knowing what you meant.

My playful bumps and teasing smiles,
They bring back memories
They show you life, and help you see
What you and I can be.

How woeful must I sound to you?
Rambling on of my desires.
It gets so complicated right?
It’s hard for my dreams to transpire.

Let love float down and touch your lips,
Let it rest upon your shoulder
Don’t let it overwhelm you though,
Don’t let your heart grow colder

My heart does plead with yours,
To let them both be one.
To let go of the past,
Focus on what has begun.

Take my hand and I’ll take yours
Together we will fly
I’ll surely let you hold me,
And never to say bye…

this is for my literacy class... think it's get me a good grade?
