Stuck


Clouds cover the suns comforting rays
Shadows from the street lights covering me
The lights from the cars go as fast as they come
My eyes are closed; there's nothing in the shadow to see.

Drops falling, but I feel nothing
My body is numb but the rain brings pain
My heart beats to the rhythm of the gentle storm
I really don't care if I'm healthy, pretty, or sane.

My legs stopped working days ago
I drift from spot to spot by my will
Even when I am tired, I have to keep moving
But so far I haven't found a reason to keep still.

I hope the rain never clears
The memories of light aren't nice
Don't get me wrong, I loathe the dark
But after the sunny day is another vice.

So here I am laying here
I'm wishing it wasn't now
but I don't look forward to later
I'm looking but there's nowhere to go.

Not much matters now
I have no real direction
I'm wishing I could turn back
But I can't find where forward is.

The storm is done
The sun is out now
To my suprise I cannot see
But I know exactly where I am.

A light stops
I make my way over
The light guides me away
My only escape from the maze.
