Tell me About Cleaning my Guitar

I recently got a new guitar, and I want to know what to do to clean it. It came with some cloths, but what do I put on the cloths?? It's an electric Spectrum Custom Series. With my old guitar, I really just didn't care about cleaning it. Mostly because the electric part didn't work (until I fixed it then it broke a month or two later), so I didn't really play or even touch it much. Now, I have a working guitar, so I want it to stay clean and what-not.

tl;dr: What do I put on my guitar's cleaning cloths??

nice tl;dr: I didn't think people used those these on this forum. Do you play halo? Oh right guitar cleaning. I use fender guitar polish on my guitar it makes it shine. Also I need to look in to fret board cleaning. I hear lemon oil works. I need to check this out for next time I change strings.

Naw, I think Halo is overrated.
Anyway, thanks, I'll have to get some polish.

Polish is nice. I always forget to do it, but if you put mineral oil on a cloth and wipe your strings down, they stay fresh longer. A little oil goes a long way.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

I clean my electric guitar the same way I clean my other electronics: a bit of Windex or some other window cleaner and q-tips (aka cotton swabs, cotton buds, and ear buds). Put a drop or two on the q-tip (not too much), and wipe away. If you're going for a larger area, then use paper towels and window cleaner instead. Again, not too much. Just enough to clean, not soak. And then wipe up with the paper towel when finished.

That's what I did when I spilled soda on my keyboard, with the Q-tips. So should I just put the Windex on the cleaning cloths?
Until I can get some polish, of course.

Sure, I guess. I know little about cleaning. I just said what I do. :-D

Well I find it best to clean it when you change the strings so you can really get into everywhere, and for cleaning substances I tend to just use a slightly damp cloth and just make sure that I am thorough as I'm too scared to risk putting anything else on my guitars. :/ Probably not the best method but it seems to work ok.
