Tell me about binarual beats and how they work

I'm wondering how binarual work, I only had an experience with them once but I have never used them again after that. When I first used binarual beats for the first time by accident, I only heard one tone and took off my headphones and looked at my arm and only saw one peice of skin spasm. So I don't know if those binarual tones did that or could I just had a normal spasm. When that happened it turned into a ring and then it was gone. Kinda like ring worm because I had it at the time. Well any way. I'm wondering how binarual beats work, I'm really interested in them. Also would they help you with lucid dreaming and help you concentrate more? Also would it be a bad idea to listen to them of your on anti depressants and anxiety meds?

Can you tell me what they do, Do they relax you and help you reduce stress? When you meditate can they help you focus more? I haven't listened to a fully binarual beats yet, So I was wondering what binarual beats are and if I should listen to them or not. I have heard they could trigger seizures if people have them. And I'm not diagnose with seizures so I don't get them. Also should I ask my doctor if I should listen to them if I want to relieve stress and other stuff? Also can binarual beats help with anxiety disorders and stress disorders? Thanks. Sorry for all of the questions lol I'm just interested. And is there a chance of binarual beats causing death during activities and such?

Because I saw a artical on a website about them and I want to know what you think about them. I need all the info I need. And should I ask my therapist about listening to them? Maybe it will help me reduce my stress... Thanks.

Death by binaural beats? Slow down there, while they can have apparently vast effects on some people I hardly doubt that's possible. Binaural beats use a stereo track which has slight but precise differences between the two bands. Those differences have a frequency which should in practice bring the brain to sync it's frequency to the one of the track. That usually takes some meditation and you should be willing to let it happen. But that can hardly apply any real harm. I heard and read of cases though were it might have unwanted effects when listened to for too long, for example during sleep. Back to the frequency; the frequency is what is supposed to make binaural beats useful, it can put you in different states, named after greek letters, from low to high fruequency: Delta-Theta-Alpha-Beta-Gamma. The higher the frequency the higher your level of awareness. Dreams and stuff is usually going on in the Theta-Alpha range. That should sum it up, but you could based on that look at the correspanding wikipedia article if you're interested in something specific: Binaural beats - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
      Or just ask back here.

Further you should consider Isochronic Tones, basically supposed to do the same thing through different means, Isochronic Tones don't necesserily require headphones to be used properly.

Thanks for the information, I agree with you on that end. But I wonder why the site would say that kind of stuff about death or what ever...

Well the only thing I could remotely imagine to be dangerous would be staying in Delta for too long. But the brain isn't dependant on the binaural beats, it's more like a friendly suggestion. When the brain doesn't see it fit at all anymore it will likely stop synching up. Though it would be cool if it wouldn't then you could theoretically use it to trap yourself inside of a dream for a while.

Why can't we?? I have been reading about binaural beats for years and if someone were to use one to get into Delta brain waves, AND stay partially conscious as if in sleep paralysis.. do u think that could be like a synthetic dream?? Hmmm...
