Tell me about Libya

im going to be moving to Tripoli libya im going to an english school. whats it like there for those of you who have visited there? Is it safe to walk around on your own? do they dress traditional like as you would see in pakistan? If i pick up any arabic there will i be able to use it elsewhere or is the dialect to different? any advice you would give would be appreciated i hope my post doesnt go un-answered!

Well their leader Moammar Gadhafi is smart enough to give the US what they want and stay out of their war path. But by no means does that mean he is not a dictator. Although he claims not to be. He spins it very uniquely. You should check up on the latest ways to earn your free like status of governing there. Good luck. Have you been assigned there or is this your choice? Either way it is best to educate yourself about their lifestyles.

I've done all the research i can on the politics/history/geography but there are no good sourc es for the countrys lifestyle. all the guuides talk about is the weather and old places to visit in tripoli!! to gain entree to libya you need to be "invited" from the inside and i have a relative whos gonna do that. Im going there by choice. Its gonna be an interesting expereince. and ya if anyone has any other advice would be great ly appreciated.

It sounds like an interesting place though im afraid im gonna be living in a sort of green zone where i cant experence the city... anyway next time i post in here it will be from tripoli libya or an airport in europe at the ver least
