I always wondered this problem. If there one galaxy to the left of us moving away at 80% lightspeed, and another one to the exact right of us also moving at 80% lightspeed. What would the speed of the left galaxy see for the speed of the right galaxy? |

They would see it moving away from them at 96% the speed of light because time is moving at 60% of an outside observer. However, they would also see the galaxy going away from them as 60% closer than an outside observer. |
