      Tell me about friends

What qualities/traits do you think make a good friend?
What is the point of friends?
Some friend experiences of yours.... cool friends you have? fun stuff you do with them? Anything else you feel like saying...

I'm not asking how to make friends, I'm just wondering about your opinions/experiences, go!

A good friend is someone you can tell just about anything, and still have them stick by your side and respect your wishes. That's one of the most important things in life, having someone to rely on, someone you can talk to no matter what the problem is.

I wouldn't be myself withought my friends. They are crazy, insane & just wonderful.
I love them all to death, but I only have 2 really REALLY close friends.
Hedie is the craziest person i have ever met in my life. She is the person i can tell anything to. When I'm sad she knows how to cheer me up. We always talk about guys together ( she's the type of person who will walk right up to a guy she thinks is hot & tell them his hot). She's one of the sweetest people i know. She's my sister at heart.
Sal is my best guy friend. He is really sweet. His a total athlete. His in track, & basketball. He is overprotective of all his friends that are girls. His like a brother to me.
i have way to many fun stories to tell just one. I'll try to think of a short one, & I'll post it later.

I prefer to have girls as friends. I'm a pretty sensitive guy and they're always there to turn to when I'm feeling down. This wouldn't be the case if they were males. Plus, I'm a 100% heterosexual male with a powerful sex drive and it's pretty fun wrestling with a hot girl who doesn't suspect a thing. They're the best.

They're pretty much the only thing worth staying awake for, aren't they?

There's too many quality/traits that make a good friend; an appreciation for the arts (music/poetry/etc.), an appreciation for partying, intelligence, independence, and blahdeblahdeblah.

The point of friends is social interaction, connections that pull you closer to a completely different personality (or sometimes a very similar personality) in a positive way.

I have many, many friends experiences. For me, I have roughly four or five different groups that I hang out with; there's the 'jocks' that consists of one large group of two smaller ones (always playing sports, know how to have fun and get drunk and all that jazz); there's the 'artistics' (always playing music, singing, painting, smoking weed and drinking); there's the stoner/fighter/punk group (always stoned and chill or drunk and beligerent); and there's my recent establishment of friends who I really don't know how to classify (extremely modest about their talents: freestylers, beatboxers, also musically talented but applied to things apart from piano and guitar... oh, and they smoke about as much weed as I do).

Each person I know is completely different, and the reason why I have so many close friends is because I take the time to get to know each and every one of them. It really intrigues me because every life is a seperate path, everyone has had their own share of fucked up experiences, tribulations, epiphanies, revolutions... it's just a matter of finding out about them.

you're still in high school, right? ...

      anyway,

most my friends are my cross country team mates. They're the kind of people where some of my classmates will ask me if I know about them (not even know them, know about them) and I say "i have no idea who those people are" but then hang out with them on a daily basis

no just kidding they're not that weird. ... ok, they are, but I don't deny hanging out with them. Pretty much the reason I'm such good friends with them is because they're easy to talk to, they're tons of fun to be around, and they're not cliquish at all. It was easy becoming their friends because I didn't feel like i had to be accepted into their "group"... which I still wouldn't be if that were the case because none of the girls that hang out with them talk to me. I've only made friends with the guys (and one girl) but oh well I like them better anyway! They're all really popular but not in the way that you'd think. It's like there's two different kinds of popular at my school, and the friends I hang out with are popular because a lot of people want to be friends with them because they have such loud and hilarious personalities that it's kind of hard not to notice them, even when they're blatantly oblivious of the attention. I love it

I think the best friends are the ones who are silently there for you without them having to mention it. You don't need to sign pacts with other people, you just need some people to talk and hang out with.

Judgment and criticism are the only ways we can learn to change our faults. If it is something that I feel I don't need to change then I wont but unless someone points it out you can never know how the world sees you.

Thats tru but I was talking criticisim to the point of making the one friend feel bad. Personally it takes a lot to get me mad or disappointed. And i greatly appreciate any and all judgemant and criticism. I don't kno how the world sees me or how im portrayed to ppl, but all i can do is be me and my tru friends will love me for the way that I am

Well if the criticisms don't make you feel bad then you probably won't change and why care about how the world sees you, the world is just people and none of them are more right in their opinions than you are.

Nope, freshly graduated (since the end of June 2008). This is just how I classify them; by jocks I don't mean kids who wear lettermen jackets and are obsessed with football and shit like that, I mean the ones who are naturally talented at any sort of sport they play. By stoner punks I don't mean kids who have their hair up in mohawks constantly or really stupid and slow. Instead, they're more of the underground society, associated a lot with the underground violence that goes on unseen or unheard in our town (all trained in fighting). Etc. etc. I just label them so I can refer to them.
