Tell me how to dance

Well, just as the title says...tell me how to dance.

I know how to do slow dances, but it's those rap songs and stuff I don't understand...

I feel like a fool when I dance to songs like that.

Demonstration required.

You can't dance to rap, only to music.

There are quiet a few breakdancing sites on the net, they could help you.

go to a club where they play electronic music and you will learn that dancing includes observing the backside of your hand and doing tai chi.

My personal fave is a move called 'the box.'

1. Take your hands and lock your elbows at a 90 degree angle with your elbow just above your hips and your forearm perpendicular to your body. Make sure your hands are flat and paralell. Imagine your holding a box.

2. Keeping the proportions of your hands being a part even, lift your left thumb to where it barley touches your right ear.

3. Bring your hand back down 30 degrees, pause for one half second, bring it back to your ear, hold for a half second, bring your arms back to the position in step 1.

4. Repeat steps 2-3 but with your right thumb to your left ear.

5. You will notice that it looks much like you are shaking a Christmas present to hear whats inside.

I once got a whole group of people to do this move along with me. It spread like wildfire.
DISCLAIMER: THIS MOVE IS VERY, VERY WHITE! IF YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO 'BROTHER UP' AND YOU USE THIS MOVE, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOST REP, YO.

I beg to differ. There's this thing called "booty dancing" though I don't think slayer would be interested in learning how to do that

You can dance to anything with a beat.
I can apply all of the dances I previously posted to hip-hop.

Very. It's my favorite thing to do. Haha. I'll just bust out with it [whenever]; like when I'm walking through the mall with no music. Lol.

Oneironaut, because of you I actually can glide now, and well. It's one of the things my friends always regarded me for was my dancing, LOL, once they saw me do it. And I do the same thing with busting out random moves anywhere, the bus stop, when I have to turn 180º, anything. It's even better when you just carry on like you didn't do anything, hahahaha. Since I learned how to glide I can do the moonwalk and all this other trippy stuff that makes me look like I can actually dance, so thank you.

Now to learn the rest of those.

My pleasure.

And yeah, I love to just keep on walking, like nothing happened. Even when you do it in a club, where people are expecting to see people dancing, it always gets a reaction. Hehe.

I haven't been clubbing yet... but I like the reactions I get when I do it in my steel-toes at work... LOL

There is no 'real' way to dance in my opinion, people are always making up new moves, some great, some.. er.. not so great. When I dance, I just do whatever.

Answer: Neither, single-celled organisms did.

I suggest the best way to learn how to dance is experience. I couldn't and still can't dance, but I went to a big party some 8 months ago with literally about 200 people in a big mob dancing. A lot of my friends both female and male were there. I paired up with some of my female friends a few times and they showed me the basic gyst. I think I can handle it without making myself look like a complete ass.

My plan is to get a girlfriend and ask her to teach me how to dance. I'd imagine she'd love the whole "bonding" part while giving me valuable knowledge that I can actually use in my everyday life. More motivation for you to get a girlfriend, Slayer.

I mean, everybody has to start sometime, right?

Get out on the dance floor and shake what you got. It doesn't matter what you know. Just be confident and groove. The rest will come when you feel the music.

Just dance like nobody is watching and let the music take you.

Try it at home, close your eyes, and shake what your Mama gave you !!
