      Tell me how to gauging?

      To anybody here who has their ear piercings stretched.

      Did you use tapers or another method? How long did it take/how long did you leave them in? What gauge are you currently at?

      Not expecting too many responses, but anything would be nice.

      My older brother (Real brother who I dont live with anymore)

      When I tried doing it a few years back I went to Hot Topic and bought a tapered stud, but I couldn't even get it in the hole to begin with so that dream died pretty quickly.

      If you go to a tatto/piercing shop and talk to the person behind the counter they could probably help you a lot.

      Tapers are a good way to go. I know a good number of people that have used spirals which are also tapered. Just put 'em in, and slowly work them down during the day. When stretching you should use either glass or stainless steel, as I've heard wood or bone jewelry can fuse to your skin.

      I'd recommend only going up one gauge at a time. Going up two gauges (e.g. 8 to 4) works ok, but it's more painful...

      How big are you planning on stretching? I'm at a 2 gauge.

      I'm planning on going to a 6, just for now. Sometime in my life I'd like to reach 0, or whichever the highest is you can go until it won't grow back.
