Would you happen to know of a virtual machine that runs on PowerPC? |
|
using a virtual machine on that laptop is probably not an ideal solution (too underpowered) |

Especially the G4, it's not much of a powerhouse. It was fast for it's time, but it's 5 years old. |

Oh. |
|
Bootcamp them instead, VMs aren't all that great. |

Yeah, it says that it's Windows in bootcamp, but it doesn't know the difference If you have Windows too, you have OSX and Windows, but if you click on Windows, you get brought to GRUB |

That's not my problem, I need to get it onto a flash drive becuase my ps3 cant read discs. I'm planning on installing a VNC server on ubuntu when I hopefully get it on the ps3 so I can use my laptop keyboard and mouse and cd drive, but it's not looking good right now. |

If you don't mind my asking: If your goal is to get Ubuntu onto a laptop, why would you buy an Apple laptop? Seems to me like you're paying a premium for no reason here. You might as well get a laptop from System76. They handle the mucky "getting all the hardware to work" part for you, and it's been absolutely solid for me. |
|
I'd buy a macbook pro (to use as a mac) and then install ubuntu on this laptop (iBook G4). |
