Tell me about trashy fantasy novels about dragons

I am feeling a need for some cliche novels again, to get back into the reading spirit; but I need to find the right ones, and the problem with trashy novels is that often trash is bad, rather than good. This is where recommendations come into play.

I also have a couple of criteria.

      - Gotta have dragons prominently; ideally in a non-villainous role. Don't recommend Paolini, he sucks. Ideally more around the quality of the Pern series or above.

      - LOTR sword and sorcery; I've yet to find an example of that I enjoy. Urban fantasy or sci-fi dragons are preferred. But I'm open to suggestions here if it's real good.

A Song of Ice and Fire is absolutely amazing, the best fantasy series every written, but he's looking for something trashy and filled with dragons. ASOIAF has very few dragons, (only in the Danaerys parts), and it's a huge political world with depthly characters and intricate plots - not cliche nor 'trashy'. (But OP, you should at some point before you die read A Song of Ice and Fire).

I admit I intentionally try to stay away from extremely cliche fantasy novels. For entertainment, I read almost exclusively fantasy, but look online first to make sure every time I choose a really good one.

Have you read the series Memory, Sorrow and Thorn by Tad Williams? (Also commonly referred to as The Dragonbone Chair which is the name of the first book)
There aren't many dragons in this one, and I think the dragons there are are more 'evil' (or more like wild animals), but it has the atmosphere and generic plot as a novel that would have dragons in it. It's central theme involves swords (the title is the name of the 3 swords). Furthermore, it's exceptionally entertaining, especially near the last half of series (I didn't like the first book that much, you have to trudge through it first). It's cliche, but sort of makes fun of itself. About a young boy who goes on an adventure and becomes great, falls in love, etc. Although it was a bit cliche, I found the characters, the details of the story, very real in a way. I've read many fantasy series and this is one of the most entertaining. When I think about it, the whole unique entertaining atmosphere comes back. I think the only other book I've gotten that with has been Mistborn.

Overly cliche is bad, yes. I'm not looking for something that's painful to read (Eragon, looking at you) but just something that's not really high intellect. That recommendation sounds like a fine one, Dianeva. I'll check it out.

^ There were actually two dragons and I think only the second one gave three wishes, the first gave one.

I don't understand why anyone would want to read a book with dragons. I've been looking for a fantasy book that doesn't have dragons, and so far have found only few (Mistborn, The Gentleman Bastard Sequence, Tigana). With most, it will seem like there are no dragons, but then some 'original' dragon is introduced (Deadhouse Gates, The Name of the Wind, The Farseer Trilogy...) because the author isn't trying to be cliche. I think if you're trying to be original, don't come up with some original special dragon like one that breathes water, just don't add dragons at all.
