Having Trouble Being Successful With The WILD Technique

Hey guys, forgive me if this is the wrong forum for this question, but I haven't been here in a while and recently regained my interest in lucid dreaming. Basically I've had a few DILDs in the past when I actively pursued lucid dreaming, but I really want to be successful using the WILD technique. Now I know you attempt it just after REM or during an afternoon nap. The furthermost I can get is to the beginning of REM (I can feel my eyes spasming) with some very faint imagery, but it never seems to elevate beyond that. I lay perfectly still, ignore all of my body's signals to move etc and always remain calm while attempting it. Can anybody provide some advice to aid me in WILDing ?

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got with regards to WILD'ing; was to not focus on the fact you're WILD'ing. I used to lay perfectly still ignoring my body signals to move, but then start thinking to myself things like, "Hmm, I can see some faint images." or "I've been laying here for ages, I should be in SP now!". When you stop focusing on what's happening and just go with the flow, I find it's much eaiser to advance in the stages of the WILD.
