Unhappy Didn't go lucid after realizing I was in a dream

I was at a gas station and I realized I was dreaming so I said, "I'm dreaming!" Then my dream got a little clearer (not much) so I reality checked and put my hand through my other hand fairly easily, but still nothing. Then I tried to spin around but I couldn't and my dream faded slowly in a couple of seconds.
      What happened?

It sounds like you did become lucid, but the dream just faded. It happens a lot, as you become lucid more and more that problem will fade, don't worry about it.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

Huh, k, but it wasn't too real. Like still kinda blurry, it wasn't as lifelike as I heard lucid's were.

I know what you mean. I've recently complained about this. I was frustrated because I started to think why do wework so hard for something that doesn't even seem real?? But then I conducted some experiments and it turns out that vividness is based on how good your dream recall is, and how good you can stabilize things. In my last lucid dream I was standing in my mothers room, and I stared at my hands. Evrything instantly became more lifelike. I grabbed the desk in the room and I was in awe at how real it was. After I awoke I recorded it in my journal. Anyways, I guess you could work on recall some more and practice stablilization techs.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

I had that same experience today. I took a nap shortly after awakening, had what seemed like a full length dream sequence and towards the end I thought "I'm dreaming!" --but it was strange. The dream continued as normal because I told myself "You're mad, you're not dreaming... this is real" and I managed to convince myself, in the dream, that it was reality and that I was having a hard time distinguishing now. It was eerie when I awoke..

I was on a 4 day vacation, and I didn't bring my dream journal (/facedesk), but I remembered one or more dream each night, but forgot it later because I couldn't write it down. Dang, what a coincidence.

[EDIT]I also had sleep paralysis the second day (I think). I was up at 6am, couldn't sleep, layed down and thought about something. Then I "finished" (really weird) thinking about it, and then there was black with pink shapes and a high pitched sound with a cowbell clang about 5 times. It lasted for 2-3 seconds, I got really scared, then I remembered to calm myself down, then everything went white then everything went black and I woke up later.
