Exclamation I Am Having Trouble Becoming Lucid?

Hey guys, I am new to the forums but not new to the idea of becoming Lucid.

This past week I have been trying very hard to become lucid in my dreams and be able to control them. But I am having an awfully hard time realizing that I am dreaming, whilst I am dreaming.

I have done quite a lot of research in the past week of methods and tips to becoming lucid. Here is what I have been doing>>

1st. I have been performing RC's throughout the day, everyday.
2nd. I have started listening to binaural beats as I go to sleep...(I have learned it actually makes me fall asleep very quickly)
3rd. I set my alarm to wake me up 2 hours before my final awakening, and continue to hit the snooze button and fall back to sleep for the next 2 hours, while sometimes also listening to Binaural beats.
4th. Each time I awake after having a dream I lay still for a few moments and remember everything I can about the dream. (I have never really had trouble remembering dreams, but now I remember every single dream even better than ever) And I practically keep a mental Dream Journal, since I remember them all so well.
5th. I constantly think how important my dreams are to me throughout the day..IDK if that helps but I really do believe they are important, I always have.

Anyways thats pretty much what I have been doing lately to try and lucid dream. I just can't seem to recognize that I am dreaming, whilst actually dreaming. I even repeat in my head over and over again before falling asleep that, "I will become lucid in my dream tonight, and be in full control."

All this effort and nothing seems to be working! I can never relies I am dreaming!

Its rather annoying actually, because in one of my dreams from last night, I can remember thinking in my dream that a set of stairs was awfully steep, abnormally step actually. I even stopped and took a second look at them and then I just went on walking down them and didn't think anything of it. I can also now recall a lot of odd things about all my dreams, but only after I awake. I can just never seem to pick up on them whist actually dreaming.

Sorry it was such a long post. Hope someone reads it all and can help me!

What else should I do, to try and become lucid and relies I am dreaming???

Guys please help! This is one of my life long goals, that I would like to accomplish and be able to preform whenever I please.

      Thanks in advance

You should realize that one week is actually a pretty short time. To give you an idea, it took me four months to get my first LD
Now of course, this differs for everyone (and I seem to be a bit slow compared to most!) so all I can say is, keep trying and stay motivated! The methods you mentioned are fine, don't change these, in my opinion.

Well you can't expect it to just happen right away, and like Luc said a week's not long. Just keep at it and one day it'll happen.

Everyone learns at different rates, it took me 5-6 weeks to get my first lucid. Now I'm starting to have them at least one every 6-8 days. But don't try too hard. And be patient, one day you'll have one. You never know when your going to have one.
