      about Wild

I've been trying for some time now, and each night i seem to get a little further.
i havent had the time to get up 6hr after i fall asleep, and then try, so i've been trying at night, when i go to bed.
and it seems like i'm getting further every night
Last night was a little scary too, but i maged to keep calm, because i was just thinking that it's nothing that can harm me or anything like that.. it was this low sound, and then it got really noisy, a sound that was really strange, i dont know how to explain it, other then it sounded like a looong metallic sound, that was low, and then went really loud (REALLY loud) and then just stopped, and i got this tingling feeling in my body, then the sound came back again for some seconds, and went away. Then i started to hear voices, i could not hear what they said, because it was almost like they spoke too fast, and it was not that loud, but i instantly recognised it as voices..
I also started to se various images, that went away, for instance a face with a huge eye was looking at me etc, strange things..
but then i opened my eyes, and went to a normal sleep..

i will try again tonight, because i really really want to get this to work..

You're on the right track! And VERY close! Just try to stay focused on the Hypnotic Imagery a little longer, and you'll be there. Good Luck!

      Congrats on your progress!

That noise can be distracting, I don't get it all the time, but when I do, it is a very high pitched screech, kind of a cross between fingernails on a blackboard and metal scraping against metal!

Keep it up, you are almost there!

Yeah, he's right. Make SURE you do not fall unconcious, because that's one of the hardest parts. Just think logically, if you start to think odd things, stop thinking them. Also, another hard part is entering the dream. Don't try to go too forecefully into the dream, because then it will probably end. Just let yourself go neutrally into the dream. Good luck! You're close.

Same sound as i get then
but i've only heard it once, and that is some time ago, but i do still keep trying,
but my problem is that when i go to bed i'm really tired, and i just give up, and go to normal sleep..

And i live with my gf, so you probably understand that it means that i cant go to sleepwild just when i feel like doing it..

but she's going away for the weekend, so then i have my whole weekend to spend trying this hehe

Try going to bed eeeaaarly. Early like in 10PM. Then you have some more time on your hand to try. Your mind will also be more likely to awake after the experience which acctually is the most important factor when having a LD.... that is remembering that you even had the LD.
When you give up have you ever tried to just keep on lying there continuing "trying", or do you usualy move the body to a more comfortable position? Since even when giving up, and trying to sleep, you still have to drop by the WILD state. So maybe with a little more detachment since the goal is normal sleep but at the same time that little observer analyzing and looking for WILD effects you can get another chance.

Another way of looking at it, and that is easier said than done, is to not give up but just keep on trying. The relaxed state you is in then is close to sleep, like a meditation and enough to recharge. The worst thing that can happen is that you wake up like normal some hours later.

Just some way of looking at alternativ routes to sleep on

Btw what position do you lie in when atempting to WILD?

thank you for the nice answer
nice to see some more norwegians here aswell

i've been thinking about that, to not give up, and to even if i decide to just go to sleep, but still try, but not maybe so har as i normally do.
i think i maybe keep on trying too much..
i do get to that state that i'm paralyzed, but no sounds have come, and nothing more then that i'm paralyzed.. it seems like i'm having trouble moving on..
i've only had those hypogenic sounds once, and that's some weeks ago, was kinda scary, so i just opened my eyes because i thought it was easy to get back to that state, but it was not

I always lie on my back when i try. that seems to be the easiest for me, easier to keep a focus and concentration..

but i'll try again today, and see how it goes.

I forgot to ask which WILD inducing technique your using?

      Hey Hed,

That's great that you seem to be able to get to that LD "doorway" so often - I just wish I could do the same. I experienced the sleep paralysis and scary sounds way before I had even heard about lucid dreaming. Had I known back then, I would have surely WILDed succesfully. But anyway....

One thing I have noticed about the sounds, is that they seem to be manifested by yourself (at least in my experience). I describe my experience in more detail in my post here - but to make a long story short, if I started to imagine something happening, I would instantly hear the sounds from what I was imagining.

One example is that for some reason I thought someone was sneaking around in my room stealing things. Instantly I started to hear the sound of papers rustling and drawers slamming - the sounds were so real that I wanted to jump out of the bed and yell! Yet, I was paralyzed!!

I've been trying to WILD right from the get-go (such as you are trying) and have only been able to get to that tingling sensation in my body and every now and then - a muscle spasm. But, the closer I feel to that doorway, the more excited I get , thus, the more I awaken. ARRGH! A bit frustrating, but I'm sure you can imagine.

PS - hey, I like the 3D work on your site. I'm working on a new site for myself where I can hopefuly put more of my 3D pieces up. I've played around with many apps (Carrara, Maya, Strata, Wings) but I feel most comfortable with Strata.
