Your opinion on ear plugs.

I am curious to know other people's experience with using earplugs. Or at very least the differences in their ability to attain lucidity while wilding with ear plugs, or absolute silence, as opposed to sound like a fan or something.. What are your experiences? Not opinions, but personal experiences.

I'm not a fan of ear plugs, have never used them specifically for lucid dreaming purposes though, just in general. Plus imo, there is no such thing as absolute silence, I don't think you can get remotely close even (well me at least). As someone who pretends to mediate a lot, I'd like that to credit towards my pseudo-profound remark of the day.

Since i've came home for christmas break i've been waking up in the morning around 9 when my family gets up and putting on earplugs (I go to bed around 2am). Then I go back to sleep for around 3 hours. I have had a couple of nice DILDs recently with them, but I did before I used them too. So I am not sure how they effect LDs in particular, but I love them so I can go back to sleep despite my loud family in the morning

Our hearing is the last sense to let go before slipping off into deep Delta sleep however, it never quite goes dormant. If it did how would we wake up when a loud sound occurred? My opinion on earplugs? Earplugs, I have found, only intensify my Tinnitus (ear ringing) so I never use them.

For me when I sleep with earplugs, I can hear my breathing and heart beat quite clearly and it's too distracting to sleep with (lol)

i use a fan, and sometimes, when i go back to sleep in the mornings, a sleep mask and earplugs. earplugs do increase the tinnitus, but you can focus on that tinnitus and use it as an anchor for wilding. earplugs also keep out or at least muffle the sounds of my neighbors and kids outside.
