Has anybody ever tried

Asking a DC to alert you that you are dreaming the next time you were asleep? If so, did it work? I've never really been lucid, but I intend to try this as soon as I am able to.

No, but I think I've heard of this. It's a kind of DILD. I think somebody called it DCILD or something like that.

Well, I *personally* don't think it would work that much. In a lucid dream, you know people around you are all DCs, but in a regular dream, you will believe they are are real people. Therefore, i find it unlikely that a DC will come to you and help you get lucid. I could be wrong though.

I've heard of people trying it and that It's worked before. I will try it next time I am lucid :] sounds pretty cool. But if you do tell a DC, you should probably make sure that he appears in your dreams alot.

Hmmm. I don't see that working very well since your dreams aren't directly connected.

However, it can be the same as telling yourself to remember your dreams when you fall asleep. Though I find the idea of a DC reminding you to be pretty crazy.

I've tried it. It didn't work. A lot of people have tried it actually. Some people have had DCs help them become lucid, but it was always unintentionally. It's also a really unreliable to technique anyway, so I wouldn't rely on that to get you lucid. Instead of coming up with different ways of maybe getting one lucid dream, I would spend my time and effort on mastering more consistent techniques, such as WBTB or WILD. Even FILD if you don't seem to be getting anywhere at first.
