my honest opinion: this "talking to the superconcious" is 90 percent bullshit. simply affirming to yourself is usually not enough to induce Lucid Dreams for most people. But maybe its just cause i havent tried it

Why say it's bullshit if you haven't even tried it? But your attitude it seems like it wouldn't work for you anyway since you don't even believe in it in the first place.
I'm not going to try to prove this to anyone anymore, I know this works for me. I'm just going to simply leave you with this question : Do you want to lucid dream? yes or no?
It's your very attitude that it's bullshit that means it won't work for you. Do you know how ridiculous that statement looks? 'I don't believe in this belief shit'. Your statement was fine until you said 'I haven't tried it', don't bother, I can guarantee it won't work for you. :)
This method really changed my whole attitude towards things in general aswell. I never reality check during the day, I don't even think about lucid dreaming except before going to sleep for a minute or two. I just had 7 lucids in the two months after I started... I had 8 in three days and by doing what? Nothing, just knowing I lucid dream at will. It works wonders for me :D
had 3 this morning. one was pretty long and extremely vivid!
Also, mirror, I'm glad you stuck with it even when it didn't work for you for a while. That's why now it's working so well for you.
please watch this video:YouTube - ‪Yoda Dagobah‬‏ THIS IS HOW A LUCID DREAMER SHOULD THINK!!!
'There is no try'
LUKE: I don't believe it...
YODA: THIS is why you fail...
I just switched back to my old technique, the critic reality testing. I feel more confident to have a LD at night when I "practice" with this technique during the day. :|
Wish there was a tutorial :P
Thank you silverbullet for sharing those awesome videos. Took forever to watch, but were very helpfull. I even started using stuff from the videos to focus on the videos. Anyway, i'm sure i'll have a lucid dream this way. Hopefully tonight, but if not, it's only a matter of time. Should be withing a few days! I think so anyway, and that's the point right?
Theres a new thread ya know:http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/silver...eaming-117015/
Isn't this a MILD? Telling yourself repeatedly that you are a master at lucid dreaming and etc?
It doesn't work too well for a logical brain like mine used to programming stuff and doing math :D however if you can actually succeed in making yourself actually believe what you repeat to yourself it might work. However not everybody has the ability to lucid dream. Just like the rare individuals who naturally lucid dream, there are rare individuals who have so totally illogical and disconnected (like one millisecond it is this image and the next millisecond it is another image, third person view, dreaming of movie-like things that have nothing to do with the dreamer) that being lucid is practically useless.
I do lucid dream however. HRH
You have to attain the right state of mind, to force this beliefs to your subconscious. And I think SilverBullet didn't talk about to say it as a mantra. It is supposed, to have that attitude. He is not talking about HOW to attain that attitude. To get to that altered state of mind, you can for example practice selfhypnosis. In your normal waking state, you are not so suggestible. But if you practice selfhypnosis, you get in touch with your subconscious, and there you are more suggestible.
Hear soon!

This is pretty accurate. It's all a state of mind. That's what naturals have that make them naturals. And ludr, your conscious mind doesn't really have to believe it, that part isn't that important, what's important is that your subconscious does. Your subconscious has almost nothing to do with logic so it doesn't matter whether your logical or illogical.
The last two nights I have gone to bed just knowing im going to be lucid. I didnt go crazy and think about all night, I just believe my mind would do it for me. Both nights i dreamt about lucid dreaming almost the whole night and last night i became lucid for about two seconds lol. But i know tonight i will be lucid. I have no doubts :)
i will definitly try this
You're saying that all I need to do is to set a simple goal, "trust" myself, and not to "try" at all...
I apologize if this comes off as abrasive, but... I CAN'T FREAKING STAND THESE FREAKING "ANTI-TECHNIQUES"!!!
You know exactly what I'm talking about: "Just believe!," "Trust yourself," "DON'T TRY," "Take a break," "You're trying too hard!," etc.
They're broad, dubious, and they trick people into getting out of good habits that actually work and make sense. If a technique is really so easy and effective, then soon enough its reputation will become known and everyone would be doing it. Yet, this just isn't the case. Take Tholey and Laberge: both very skillful lucid dreamers who didn't start out as naturals. They had to earn their skill. They worked hard, and it took them a while to get good.
These anti-techniques are so popular because they are easy to carry out and because they make big claims of success. If this thread's technique is effective in any sense, then it's because it's actually an old technique disguised as a new one: autosuggestion--as already elaborated on by Laberge in EWLD.
"Nothing of value is free. Even the breath of life is purchased at birth only through gasping effort and pain." -Robert A. Heinlein
If you don't want to do it then don't, I'm not forcing anyone. Also, no there are things of value that are free. Like recently.
My brother got a nice wooden piano that should cost A LOT of money, but guess how much he got it for? FREE.
Another: My mother loves to grow, sell, and smoke marijuana. A few days ago she found a sealed bag full of marijuana worth 1000$ in a public garbage at the place she works at.
Nother: My computer is pretty much free (it's a nice one too) It was given to me. When It got messed up with a virus we got it fixed, for FREE.
And another(kinda): My brother got a car for 1000 bucks. It's a pretty good one too. All it had was some problems with the transmission.
I learned to lucid dream very easily, when I tried too hard I couldn't get any, when I didn't try that hard at all they just rushed in.
Maybe it just depends on what you think has "value". I lucid dream very easily. I mean, I have these awesome adventures, I learn things, I expand my mind... And I barely have to lift a finger.
I feel like sometimes people try so hard and dont get any outcome. So people tell them to take a little break because its needed. They work so hard and when they dont get any outcome, they give up and get down on themselves about it. I haven't had a lucid in a while and I've been doing something just like this and I've had some good outcomes.
