      Trends in Lucidity

When I analyzed my dream journal and lucid frequency for the past several months I noticed that I tended to follow some interesting patterns. I was wondering if anyone else notices similar trends in their own lucid dreaming frequency both over weeks and months, and within one night.

      Short term:

Personally, I have found that whenever I have a lucid dream at some point in the night, I am far more likely to have more lucid dreams that night. I see several reasonable explanations for this.

-Even if I don't completely wake up after a lucid dream (and I often do), it is possible that the interjection of lucid, conscious thought in the middle of the night has the same effect as a WBTB.

-It is also possible that after waking from a lucid dream, I am far more aware of how the dream state feels, and am therefore more likely to get lucid.

      Long term

Note: For the purposes of this section, a night is either lucid or non-lucid.

My lucidity seems to be determined mostly by desire. Here is an example: Lets say that I have no lucid dreams from Monday to Thursday. Over that time my dream recall tends to gradually increase. I focus more on my dreams, and my desire for lucidity increases drastically.

At that point, I am highly likely to have a lucid dream on Friday. Upon having an amazing lucid dream, I feel delighted, and become moderately satisfied. It seems to me that this satisfaction (as evident from analyzing my DJ) makes me less likely to have another lucid dream the next day.

If I were to have a boring, frustrating, or relatively unclear lucid dream my satisfaction is less, and I am more likely to have a lucid dream. My longest lucid dream streaks (longest is 4 nights I believe) happen when I first have a relatively unsatisfying lucid dream, then have progressively more satisfying ones until My desire is no longer high enough for lucid dreams to occur. This also correlates with a decrease in dream recall.

I am posting this to see if other people experience similar trends in their lucid dreaming endeavors, either in a single night or over weeks and months. If not, do your dreams follow a different trend or do they seem entirely random? Do your lucid dreams correlate more with time devotion or with desire?

I've seen a lot of trends on my LD's but It's more about the place and the people in my dream, like everytime I dream about someone in my family Its really likely that I will get a lucid dream, but I like to think is because I want it that way, I think about that during the day and I try to "program" my brain, so far is just good results
