Here's one I didn't even think was possible, but it is.
I've found that if I think about a scene in my head, and use my imagination to play out that scene, I will enter right into a dream that is related to that scene without even realising it. It's because at one moment I'm imagining it, and the next my mind has ran with it and turned it into a dream I'm not even aware of, or controlling.
I don't seem to go through any of the stages of WILD when I enter dreams like this, though I will always dream if I fall asleep like that. No HI, no sounds, no vibrations and no SP, but I do enter into a dream straight from conciousness. The problem is, I do this without even realising it.
For instance, I was having a nap today, and was re-living in my head a time when I was at a friends house for a party, but I changed some things around and made some stuff up to make it more interesting. It went from my control over the story about the party (which was at night at my friends house) to the me being on a peer with a completely different friend and running along it for no reason, visuals as clear as real life.
The problem being, I'm not even aware of the transition until I've woken up, and then I'm kicking myself for not realising it.
I don't know if I can turn such a situation into a WILD or if I'm going about it all wrong. I find that trying the traditional methods of attempting a WILD -or at least the ones in the tutorials- have not worked well for me at all, but I can always get into a dream using this method.
Is there a way I can make myself more aware of this transition? Most people talk about SP or HI but the transition for me seems to be so smooth that I don't even notice it happening.
Perhaps I need to not get so caught up in the story... But at the same time, if I'm not caught up in it, a dream won't start.
One last thing I feel I ought to say is that I'm sorry to add to the ridiculously large mass of WILD topics out there. I've had natural LDs for a long while, but I've had a dry spell lately and I'd like to be able to induce LDs anyways. I find with LDing that the solutions are problems are very situational depending on the person, and more often than not, I will not find the answer I'm looking for in a different topic.
Thanks for any input that you can provide.
