I have been trying to become lucid for about three weeks and still can not seem to obtain this power . So, I have two question, for all of you that have tried and succeeded in your quest for lucid dreams. The first: How long did it take you to become lucid? The second: Can you get them whenever you want them, or only once and a while?

HAHA! i must say your screen name made me laugh and cringe at the same damn time!

      WELCOME.

I just learned by reading this site, cover to cover, i suggest it, also-if you enjoy reading, check out the book: EXPLORING THE WORLD OF LUCID DREAMING by Stephen LaBerge
its the *bible* of Lucid Dreaming

and good luck, you'll get it!

Today, everything was fine. Until roundabout, quarter to nine, I suddenly found myself in a bind. Was it something I said? Something I read an manifested that’s getting you down.[/b]

:yumdumdoodledum: :yumdumdoodledum: Welcome dingleberry12286! :yumdumdoodledum: :yumdumdoodledum:

I began spontaneously having them, but would only have a couple a year. After I read the First Laberge book, my frequency increased to once a month or so. After coming here and learning, I am now up to 2-3 per week. If I ever master WILD, I expect to get to at least one per night.

As for how long... Three weeks isn't bad. Many here took much longer than that.
I second Lowercase Society, buy the book and do the exercises. And keep a positive attitude! If you go to bed tense everynight, chances are you won't LD. Get in the Christmas Eve state of mind, you know, presents waiting for you when you fall asleep.

      Good luck!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

      Welcome

It took me 13 days but i'm still trying to learn how to have them anytime, my first lucid dream was a few days after i found this forum(thanks guys ). You have to get EWOD and keep a possitive attitude. As Seeker said in the past, you don't have to be impatience, you have all your life to master it...

Alright Mercubio, I will try taking some melatonin, but first I must ask you where someone would find this. Would it be in a pharmacy, or would I have to purchase it off the internet? I read an article about it and it seems very safe, but before I take it, you must tell me if it had any bad side effects on you. Thank you for your time, I appreciate it very much.

There is a natural food store in my town that carries it, but I've never taken it.

I've been on this forum for about a week I guess and still haven't had a LD. I guess you just have to keep trying and just know that you will eventually have one.
