:D This makes me smile... the message never fails to get out in some way shape or form, this has been said for aeons and will continue to be said for aeons until people get it.
do you notice more movies are coming with this message? star wars, the matrix, avatar, inception, etc... all are blockbusters
Ja Rastafari! :D
"I don't believe it."
"That, is why you fail."
Awww shit Yoda bes be teachin' me tha force!
I believe in it now, that it is possible! I will lucid dream one night, I will do it!
"Allright, I'll give it a try"
"NO! Don't try! Do! Or do not!"
"bleep blip boo bleep blip blippy bleep whistle bleepity bloop"
:))
Still thought, it's hard to just believe. Which is the easiest method, suitable for beginners? I'm lucky that I already got lucid one night years ago, I still remember the feeling and what I did. But I'm kinda stuck going through lots of different methods and changing as soon as one fails for the 3rd night in a row.
Whats the best one that I should just stick to?
Okay... ADA. I know what that is and how to do it, I tried it before, but gave up after 2 days of no results. Pretty stupid I know.
But now with Yoda's advice I believe I can do it.
How long did it take you to get a lucid from this method, just as a measure, you know?
As I had said brother Origami, lol, ADA is the shit.
Yeah I've noticed, kinda hard not to, I have an inkling that the powers that be are trying to exploit the fact that the truth is getting out there, feeding breadcrumbs of truth so that people will be lured in, and then trap them. I really hope this isn't the case and negativity isn't good, but I have to question everything. So when the huge events start coming and earth starts a-changin', be weary if anyone stands up as the leader and says, follow me, coz its probably a false messiah or the anti-christ. WE are 'jesus' who is supposed to return. Understand that also.
YES JAH!
The only reason why I gave up on ADA when you told me about it MrMarley, is because I lost belief in it. I don't think you should be sad that Yoda made me believe in it instead of you.
Because hey, Yoda is he.
Lol I have no care about how you came into understanding, just that you did. :D
At first it was just you, and I gave up after two days. So obviously with two people suggesting it I will last.... to infinity.
durp
belief is really simple.. lie to yourself, believe it. if you believe it i will come true, so you did't lied. a little paradox.
As George Constantza said: It's not a lie... if you believe it..
Right... well I do believe I can do it. As I already have, years ago. I guess I trip up in believing that a certain method I'm trying will work.
But since you, MrMarley and Yoda all believe it, I can believe it too.
This helps when trying to get at least 3 LDs a week. I get 3 or even more doing this. I dont go saying "I hope WBTB and WILD works." I say"WBTB and WILD will work." When I started doing this I started LDing alot more. I used this for teleportation and while it is still hard I can do it.
an ideea popped to my head.. you can use an epic song that you like and gives you the chills and transfer those emotions to the belief of lucid dreaming.. music is also a powerfull stuff...
with pleasure.. i had this ideea while listening to a epic song..
Okay.. I posted a question here about a rubiks cube... it isn't here though.. huh.
Okay, well if I use a rubik's cube while I'm idle, (sitting down, waiting, anytime my mind will wander), and if I just toy around with it to keep me aware, will it work? Is it the same as being aware as you know it?
As in right now, I'm on youtube, and while watching videos I'm using the cube, so I don't get completely absorbed, you know, like with tv and stuff.
Is this still "aware"? What counts as aware?
Yoda is a wise man. You have shown us much wisdom and possibly awakend new lucid dreamers.
if you know what are you doing, where are you, how did you get there, it is called awareness.. check also if it is normal... do the rubik cube is wierd or normal... are you watching youtube videos on a normal pc( or what are you using)?Quote:

is the place where you are normal?
actually George Lucas is a wise man.. Be AWARE!!!Quote:

I do not hope so.. i KNOW so...Quote:

Holy shit, synchronicity is nuts.
Uh, yeah, I recently did this about a week ago, I can solve a rubiks cube and I thought it was a great idea for me to focus my mind on a hard puzzle/problem, WHILE being aware of my surroundings and every minute detail of myself. I mustve read what you wrote like 5 times over, but I don't think what you described is being aware, you're watching the video, but are focusing on the rubik's cube so that you don't focus too much on the video. Awareness is when you notice every detail as it happens, and then it goes, then something else comes into your awareness etc, multiple things at a time. So if you were fully immersed in the video, noticing every sound as well as focusing on the cube, the noise it also makes, how your fingers feel when you turn the sides, as well as your breathing, clothes and all the rest of it, then that is awareness.
Thinking back, I remember having a lucid the day I tried that.. I think I'll try it again today.
I use vista on my laptop. ....not that it really matters.. yeah. Back on point, I suppose the cube doesn't really remind me where I am and all that, it just, I dunno, keeps me in my body. You know when you watch a film, you get so engrossed you don't really think or notice the chair under you or where you arms are, etc. The cube helps me stay focused on my body, while I do things that normally make people forget. I suppose it helps while on the computer, but everywhere else, I guess it's going to take practice.
Also, how long did it take you guys after starting this method to have an LD?
Lol read my previous post on the last page, you might've missed it.
It took months until I had a lucid dream... even now i don't have regulary i just had 6... but i (am trying).. WILL have more from now on...
Oh I see it, lol, tricky site!
So there is some hope for results tonight. Sweet. Or some results in months. Great.
Well, either way, I'm sticking with this method. Better than trying to do R.C.s every day and maybe not even having that situation come along. At least with ADA, it works all the time.
EDIT: I'l still be watching this thread, you guys are great for tips, but I have to go for an hour or so. I hope to keep grilling you for tips!
Tip: Leave expectations at the foot of your bed when you go to sleep.
What do you mean by that? if you expect to have a lucid dream you will..so expectations are good if you expect a good thing. why leave them?Quote:
Tip: Leave expectations at the foot of your bed when you go to sleep.
Ehh this didn't come out well lol, in regards to Origami, I feel like he worries too much about, will I have a lucid or not and, ah when will I have a lucid. So leaving expectations/worries of having one tonight or within 2 nights having one will allow for a lucid to pop up. I guess the word i was looking for is worries. I'll try again
Tip: Gauge the timeline to expect results by your trials and tribulations alone, and not those of others. SO basically Origami, you should be telling us when you expect to have a lucid dream, not anyone else, going by your feeling/any progress you're making etc etc.. with ADA try it, see what results it yields, if any... more dreams, more vivid dreams, more peaceful dreams, idk.. gauge from your progress.
Random Question: Is this scene in the OP from The Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi?
I just want to know.. but I don't know why.. hm.. interesting.
I hope to have a lucid within a week, if I feel my ADA has been going well.
I also hope that my dreams will pick up, as my journal has only one good entry in the last week.
do not hope! just do it... you are missing the whole piont
Godammit! Well I DO hope I have a good set of dreams tonight, as I was, prior to my dry spell.
But what am I supposed to think for my LD? Should I just know that I will have one tonight, even though it's practically impossible to have one my first night trying ADA properly? What should I think? What do you think?
And sisyphus, I believe it was the Return of the Jedi.
it is not impossibile. you are the one making it impossibile with your point of view. anything is possibile.
try to visualise a scenario before you go to bed with what do you want to do in a dream. personally i really want to meet my dream guide(witch from what I read is my subconscious)
Ok, I will focus on what I want to achieve, and I will believe in the effects of ADA.
I also want to meet my dream guide too. I read up on them, they sound pretty... insightful. It will be cool to see who mine is. I hear people can get guides that look like them, that are really small, different colours, opposite genders to themselves, with wings..
Supposed to reflect who they are in their subconscious. Also supposed to be really hard to meet them, as sometimes they won't be found if they don't think you are ready.
I want to talk pshilosophy with them:D and the semnificance of the things in dreams. and learn more about lucid dreams...
I just wanna get lucid first. Can't wait for that shit. Before I thought that when I get lucid, I'm going to just stabilize then just fly. But now, I'm gonna look for my dream guide. Should be fun, find out a lot about myself.
Ok, well last night, just normal dreams. I tried doing ADA today, but I got as far as breakfast (10 mins) then I slowly forgot for most of the day. Until about 4 o clock, I took a shower and did ADA while there. I'm going to try and keep it up until I go to sleep.
Any tips? I have read all the tutorials, not much comes up there that I don't already know.
ADA does work! Holy crap! Tried ADA all day sunday (as much as I could anyway, I still zone out sometimes), and I had 4 very vivid dreams last night. This can only be because of the ADA. Last nights dreams were all about me, which is strange, as most of my dreams are through some other character, or in 3rd person "floating camera" view.
Stuff was vivid. My phone had text messages on it, I held an air freshener (lol) and a car was VERY vivid and detailed.
I also write ADA on my hand to help me remember during the day- I saw that hand in my dream (while holding the air freshener) but there was no writing on it. I'm not disappointed that I didn't realize, but it's nice to know that it is possible that I may notice it something if I keep at it.
Progress sir. You are teetering on the edge here, very close. One final puuuuuush, imagine how great a LD would be, and you're sooooo close to achieving it. Yeah man keep doing what you're doing. Oh and, I told you so ;).
You certainly did tell me so. I just didn't hang with it because I'm the kind of guy who can't just go with something without getting some kinda of results or feedback really soon. Now with all the people saying how great it is, and Yoda saying how great it is, and having some experience with what it can do (I'm sure last night was because of it), I will definitely stick with it.
When I become lucid, first thing I'm going to do is try to get back to the place where I flew in my first lucid- a kind a cliff place in windy weather. Would be great to go back there, but a full on flight and landscape change in my first proper lucid? I doubt it.
good job! you will have a LD very soon! :D
Yeah, I can feel myself being closer now then I was when I was doing reality checks and looking at clocks twice and waking up at 4:30. For me, none of that stuff works. I guess you have to stick with them for longer, but ADA seems to be doing the same thing, but faster.
What did you guys do when you finally got lucid and got to decide what you wanted to do? Might give me some more ideas other than fly, find dream guide and super parkour.
NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT CREATE RESTRICTIONS IN YOUR MIND! THERE ARE NOOOO BOUNDARIES! I changed the landscape with ease in my, 3rd lucid I think, it was easy, I was imaginative, did something that made sense to me and voila.
In my first lucid I rocketed into the sky and free fell, felt so real and amazing, then stopped just before I hit the ground and planted my feet, brushed myself off. Now I'm trying to find my spirit guide, i've tried twice already with interesting results.. think I might post a thread on that.
I would love to read your dream journal and lucid experiences.
I'm just saying I doubt I will get such hard things done in my first lucid. I hear people on here saying their first was 30 seconds on not being able to control much, then it built up from there.
I just don't want to get ahead of myself. I don't doubt that I can do all this stuff, just not on my first ever try.
In my mind, I have no doubt that I will become lucid and do all the crazy s**t. Just not straight out of the gate. However, if you managed to fly and fall and stuff, maybe I can do a bit better than the 30 seconds of not doing anything.
FOOL!!!!!
What is "hard"? Why let other people define what is "hard" and not hard it's a dream for fucks sake you can do anything nothing is hard, its all in your mind, your creating restrictions by listening to other people. I don't just apply this shit to dreams btw. It's not about high standards. Why don't you think you can do all that off the bat? Because of others. You are you. You make the rules, but personally I think there are none.
MrMarley, the world needs more people like you ;)
Believe or not...the mind will ultimately shut down and sleep onset will occour(evolution made it that way). Unless the dreamer is able to crank up the same intention night after night, some of 'wanting to lucid dream' will get in to the dream state.
IMJ
Thanks alot man, but yeah its true, people need to know this, why define what is hard when it all exists in your mind. Literally, there is no hard, there are no restrictions, LITERALLY. This isn't some fancy quote you're supposed to contemplate and never acknowledge, its TRUE, REAL. People don't realise that.
Alright alright, calm down! I was saying hard as in difficult, as a way of classing the different things. Like flying is harder than just looking at stuff. More advanced then, not hard.
Last night was pretty average, two dreams without much vividness, (I was 3rd person for both, watching Spiderman then someone at my school). Thats a problem for me. Only about 30% of my dreams happen to me. The rest happen to other people, or I just watch like a camera without any body. Thats why reality checks would never work for me. I'm never "strolling through a forest full of unicorns when suddenly I realized my watch was the wrong time etc etc".
I tried ADA today as well, but it was harder to do than yesterday. May have been because of what happened today that didn't yesterday, but it was just harder to focus and stay with it.
What is the minimum "awareness" to still do ADA? What I think it is is noticing noises and sensations and seeing things in more detail, as opposed to just "looking" at them. Is this enough or too much? Can I get away with doing a little less and not straining myself to stay aware all day long?
I don't want to cheat on this, but what is enough to do effective ADA? No real point in over stressing myself when I can get the same results with a little less workload.
To quote Yoda if I remember correctly, 'More "advanced" in your mind'. Dude, understand what he and I are saying here.
Minimum awareness, theres no minimum awareness, just notice everything, there aren't any levels to this, it's your either aware or you're not. Whatever aware is for you, thats how aware you should be, don't over-analyze, just be aware. It's as simple as the word. BTW, where did people get the idea that being aware was straining, again it exists in your mind, just relax, you're hearing all the sounds and feelings ANYWAY. You paying attention to it doesn't change anything, LOL xD. Realise dude
I won't say anymore of the difficulty of LD'ing!
It's a strain to try and clear my mind so I don't drift off thinking about other stuff, like what I need to do next or what I just did or what I am doing. When I am aware, I notice gravity on my body, my clothes on me, if I'm sitting I notice the chair, if not, my feet on the ground. I hear everything, and look at everything. I don't just see my dog, I see the colours, it's shadow, where it is, what it's doing..
But then I lose it, after about 30 seconds to a minute. As in I drift off thinking about homework or what was said to me a while ago or whatever.
I guess I should say how long should I be able to hold it for? Or how long each day is long enough to be practice? 10 collective minutes? An hour? Don't just say as long as you can, because if you said that I would just think 5 minutes would do me for the day, but it might not.
All this 'techniques' are man made. Lucid dreaming is also man made, dreams were never meant to be used or controlled so it's not a given that one should lucid dream just by believing it like a religon. And when drfiting off...isn't it normal part of sleep?
IMJ
Ah, brother, so I was right, you are a busy body, you worry too much about things. Look man, once you can free yourself of 'worries' and 'stresses' then you will be able to be aware for the whoooooole day, eeeeeevery day. There's no other way to stop your mind from wandering.
Right now though, do it in 10 minute bursts, say... dunno, 5 times a day. You are very aware from what you said and what I feel, you need to stop doubting yourself. You can increase the time if you want or the frequency, but that's a nice lil chunk to do it in. The truth is, you're supposed to be aware, you're supposed to notice all these details in life and to be in tune with all this, but, things get in the way. Brush off your worries and you're gold.
Oh and, It's not difficult, only difficult in your mind. It's TRUE dude.
I mean drifting off during the day- daydreaming, thinking about important stuff, worries, etc.
I don't think I, or anyone could just really believe that they will Lucid and just do it. Thats impossible or at least far fetched. However, keeping a strong attitude that you will succeed is essential. If you go to bed having been aware all day, but still not believing you are ready to lucid, then you won't. However if you do very little and believe you still won't lucid.
You need to do the hard graft and effort. Not to trick your brain into reality checking during sleep, but to convince yourself that you have trained enough to lucid. If you work so hard that you believe it is enough, you will succeed.
Thats why I want to know how hard is enough. Right now, I'm doing my best- but I doubt it is enough to lucid tonight, or even soon.
If I was told I was doing more than enough, imagine how I would feel, and how that would translate into a dream.
This is where you're wrong... 'unlearn what you have learned'
I don't know who told you this, but it's bullshit. There are times when you KNOW. Things.. Times where you have no shadow of a doubt that something will occur or that something is right or that something is real. Intuition brother, sometimes you just KNOW. If you let go of your worries and be aware, you won't doubt you will have a lucid dream or even believe you will have one. You will know.
You don't need to 'convince' yourself of anything, that in itself is tricking your brain, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg, it's staring you in the face man. Hear what I say... Hear what Yoda was saying man.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu everything i say is wrong.
Just do it and tell me straight out what it is you are telling me.
Sorry I've frustrated you, but I'm just expressing myself man, I feel I gots to say something, I say it. Let it marinade, imma do the same, I'm winding down now lol I'm so ..lively today.
I'm frustrated, just.. confused. You say one thing then when I think I understand you it is different.
Just tell me right out now what you think I need to know, so there is no confusion.
'Cos Jesus I don't know what you mean now!
I have said all that needs to be heard. Brother, I have ALREADY said it. Don't go back and read my posts, you know what I'm saying truly, so feel it.
*Looks at control panel*
*New post by MrMarley*
*Scrolls down as fast as can be*
dude what
I swear to God if this is a riddle...
I only do riddles in my leisure... this, is serious business.
Just kiddin'.
But seriously, tell me.
Hm... I need..... to believe in myself?
Please let that not be it, because that is really cliche.
But if you don't post I'm going with that. Trust and belief in myself will pull me through to the end.
used to watch this scene awile back. the star wars series is full of lucid dream tips... someone should make a mashup.
Okay WTF now. I have no idea what I should be doing. Right now, I'm being as aware as often as I can. I don't even know if this is all I need to be doing or if I'm missing something. I'm pretty sure I am missing something, but SOMEONE won't tell me. Which is fine if I need to figure it out myself, but if it's not am I wasting my time here?!
I have no doubt I will lucid dream. I am going to make a list of what I want to do, and I can nearly see it, what it will be like. But every morning when I wake up and have a few dreams to write down, I don't see any progress at all. I think my dreams are still in a dry spell.
What do I do?
How I wish I could punch you in the stomach and hang you by your penis..."Maybe I should" in my lucid dream tonight. You just one of those 'Christians' who don't want to know the truth that GOD doesn't exist. If you did, your would of lucid dreaming would be destroyed and so will your ego seems it's based on it. I'm angry with the mentality of people here because it's alot of prejudice. I posted something about getting lottery numbers from a lucid dream some years back on the DV chat but all I got were hostilities, plain old FACTS that it cannot be done or will never work...so it means the people here are more interested in flaming those who have no proof along with many other posts I made same response.. hmm...Y not join in..:). So here I am.. The people here should wake up and see themselves in the mirror...YOU SUCK! I'm just giving back what the people think of other people's ideas and hope...WELL DONE!
IMJ
Hey, hey, I'm no Catholic, but I know when someone is being a jackass unnecessarily. This is a dream forum. If you are against the whole idea of making something natural man made, then why are you even here?
Contribute, if you want, and we will read your posts.
But changing the subject entirely or picking a Religion battle is just not on.
And what's a jackass you? Someone who what....disagrees? I did not say anything vulga other than it is man made..for that I'm a jackass? Just proves my point about the people here..
IMJ
You brought it up in the first place, and "Just proves my point about the people here", proves you are being a jackass right now.
Sure, if someone came along and said you were a jackass for being religious/christian/etc, then tehy are out of line. But right here, we were posting about the topic, and you just came on, said something, but ultimately brought up the whole religion debate.
So basically, you disagreed with us, or at least one guy here.
Yeah, I'm sorry for calling you a jackass. It's just random what you did is all. At least you didn't just barge in with nothing imj, at least you contributed to the thread.
And MrMarley, I know what I have to do now. I figured out the little task you gave me.
I think you guys misread me....I used Christianity as an example to compare the 'belief' factor. I have nothing against Christianity or any religon...And what I know is that what I said isn't wrong it's an expression of what happened to me. Randomly attacking you?....Y would I do that if you did not yourself.
IMJ
Well why didn't you just say that at the start?
And do you have anything else to add to the topic?
Can we please get back on Topic?
Yes...yes we can. I'm not ready to reply to you yet origami, lots of stuff going on and exams to ace. :D
Oh sure, you need to study, thats why you can't just type out a 3 minute reply. You're still testing me, in a way.
But I already told you, I think I have it figured out.
All I need to do is ADA. Doing so will gradually give me the belief and skills to become aware in a dream. I just need to stick with it and I have it.
Wow, when this thread first came about it motivated me so.......which I am sure was the whole point of the thread.......
Meh....idk anymore....:(
ok no keyboardwarriors anymore here!
for origami:
1. write on the hand "ADA" to remind yourself to do that.(or other sign..)
2.Do RC's aswell. It is very helpful for beginners.
3.After you do the rc, just question your reality. it is a dream? if not why? prove it
4. try imagining everything is a dream... look at people and imagine they are DC's
5.Let go all the stress... do not work so hard for a LD. just remind yourself you can make it easy and before you go to bed visualise for 10 minutes what are you going to do in the LD...
6. Try to WILD. maybe you have talent there...
Now Mr.Marley and Imj.. you have clarified what you wanted to say... You posts now have no purpose and they have to be deleted. Please if you are good guys delete your "fighting" posts. Do not let this thread die...
this is the reaction of your fighting on the forum...Quote:
Wow, when this thread first came about it motivated me so.......which I am sure was the whole point of the thread.......

peace and love for everybody! sweet dreams!
Yeah man, you're right. I just realised what that whole thing was, and it did no good, IMJ, I shouldn't have told you to delete your post, sorry. As to everyone else, sorry for the disruption, I'll gladly delete those posts.
BROTHER ORIGAMI!!!, I guess all thats said has already been said, but I'll just say what I mean. Don't worry, you're doing everything necessary to have a lucid dream, I didn't make that too explicit so that YOU could decide for YOURSELF if you were doing enough, its that belief in self that you need to have, knowing who you are. That's very important, not just in lucid dreaming but in life. I'm trying to help you as a person too, don't ask why, I just want to, so, to have that belief in self you need to leeeet gooooo of your worries. That's the important bit, you needs to ease up, that whatever your worries are they aren't the be all and end all, not by a mile. Once you do that, you'll realise what Yoda was on about, there is no hard. There are no restrictions, and the best part is, it's true ;D. LUCID DREAMING! You are gold here dude, keep doing what you're doing. To me, ADA is the only way in terms of passively inducing a lucid dream, try WILDing aswell, GREAT method for inducing a LD actively, and don't get too cut up if you're not seeing results IMMEDIATELY here, it takes time. In fact ,you should read the thread I started on my WILDing progress, I think it would be useful.. Link.. HYA > http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/need-h...-ld-sp-115475/
Don't even look at taking supplements, magic spells and running around in circles while reading a book about lucid dreaming. In my opinion, just leave reality checks altogether, you'll have much higher lucidity and vividness from being aware than from checking if this is reality. You KNOW its reality, it's just tricking the brain needlessly. You're fine man, you'll have that LD soon.
BUT! One thing you absolutely have to do first, is find your dream guide. Don't do anything first other than that, stabilise the dream by being aware, then shout for your dream guide. Don't even fly dude, don't go magicking stuff out of thin air, PROMISE ME that you will find your dream guide FIRST. You MUST do this.
:D Good luck brother Origami, I know you'll do it. Simple as that, you'll do it, there's no question about it to ME lol.
That paragraph was diamonds. My dreams since I have started ADA (about 5) have been trending like this: First night: 7/10, 7, 6, 5, then last night, 9/10. Two of those dreams, last nights and one of the 7s were quite vivid. One was some fighter character, and all the armour and stuff on him was just super clear. Last nights was a miniature dinosaur model in it's box, it was really vivid.
It is clear that ADA is affecting my dreams, increasing vividness. I drew up a graph to represent the scores my dreams got so far since I started. Thats about 45 dreams so far, trending at about 6-7/10, dipping a few times and other times spiking. Only ADA seems to so far have a positive consistent increase.
I know I'm going to LD. I now also am positive that my dreams are going to get even longer and more vivid, and with the ADA practice, I will start to gain more control.
I also took into account the "no worries" bit of your post. I have tests coming up, and I don't normally stress about them, they don't really matter, just end of year stuff. Then I think it's summer holidays straight after, which makes me really happy, and really relaxed.
I try WILDs pretty much every morning, but so far I just nod off and dream a few fragments. How do I take advantage of these?
To sum up, I can almost feel that LD coming. Before it was around the corner, now it's straight ahead.
I'm going to write a list of what I want to do in an LD when it comes. Finding my dream guide was going to be on it, but not at the top. I heard that it is very hard, so I thought simple things would be nice to start off with. I KNOW I KNOW, there is no hard or greater difficulty, it's more like saving the best 'til later.
Why is it of no.1 importance to you? I will go and try to find them, but why first?
I can't tell you why first, but you HAVE to do this first, IT ISN'T HARD. Don't let people tell you what's hard and not, you know this, you said you know, so act on it. You HAVE to have to do this, please don't do ANYTHING else first. You have to trust me on this one, just do that first, if it doesn't happen your first lucid, try and try again until it does. But it will. It'll be a lot quicker for you than other people, that I know.
Ok, I will do it first. I was going to do it after a fly around and stuff, but Il do it straight after a stabilization.
:). Thank you.
For WILDs, try to always do them as a WBTB, my thread will be really useful to you in the whole process of learning to WILD, so check it out. Do a WBTB when you can, and find a nice time slot to stay up, try 15 minutes, if you're too alert, try 10, if not that try 5 etc, trial and error. But, don't expect your first lucid to come from a WILD as im sure you don't, tis ADA all the way.
EDIT: If you have any questions you want to ask me, ask away man :D
Ok, well I did try it this morning. I woke up at around 7ish, then got out of bed, and stood around me room until I wasn't so groggy and bleary. I went back to bed, tried to get some sleep, and I guess dozed off a while later. I had a few more fragment dreams (as I usually do), but no chance of lucidity or anything. Wasn't even very vivid.
I have been waking up every morning at 6, just so I can have a lie in (lol), but I always fall back asleep and I always have little fragment dreams. This was the first morning actually getting up out of bed.
Should I stick with it, or just stop waking myself up early just to go back to sleep again?
I'd say leave it, have a LD first before you attempt WILDing again I guess.
Yeah, I'l just keep building on the ADA, getting closer and closer. Eventually I will get to a point where I am ADA'in without even thinking it, then its only a matter of time. Weekend next, that means lie ins, that means more relaxed sleep, that means greater chance Lucids. Come on!
Also, do you have any little things that you do before bed, that you think may be connected to lucid dreaming? Like for me, I go on the computer or on my ps3, maybe have a glass of juice, then wash up and bed. Should I be doing something else? I heard that looking at bright screens and that right before bed is kinda bad for lucid dreaming.
Yes! I just read this thread all the way through and I understand Marley's frustration. I'm glad you're starting to understand that there is no 'hard', there is no 'impossible' or 'real'. It's all possible if you know it is possible :)
Keep doing ADA, you will have a lucid dream very, very soon.
Thanks. Well last night was pretty good. So far my ADA dreams have been a 7/10, 6/10, 5/10, 9/10 then last night an 8/10. I think it's an upward trend that will keep up. Each day of ADA is one step closer to a lucid.
Even if you are a pro at WILD, you still need to work on your awareness. I find that when I let it slip for a week or two, I start losing lucidity in my WILDs. I will have a successful WILD, but after a few minutes, it will convert back into a regular non-lucid dream. Awareness is definitely key.
I know it's key, I know. Just a few more days, until I feel that I have practiced it enough. I can't just believe that I will lucid, but I can believe easier after some practice. I can tell myself I will lucid tonight, but I just won't as in my gut I don't believe it.
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Precisely ;)
That's great that the quality of your dreams are improving, keep at it, you have that self belief now :D.
There's little tips and stuff around of things to do before you go to bed, these work but aren't a huge factor. I use my iPod every night before going to sleep and I have lucids even if I do this, had several a couple nights before and yesterday had one. Don't get me wrong though, this isn't good, lol not by a long shot, for my overall health, it's not good at all and I'm going to stop this. Just, do whatever you do normally, I guess work yourself into a small routine, not a lengthy hour long bath then watch tv for 10 mintues then play ps3 or whatever, just like, 10 minute routine and that should be chilled, to turn yaself loose for your nights sleep. Definitely DON'T, use electronics say an hour before you go to sleep, don't get into a bad habit >.<.
Origami sir, I believe you mentioned changing your diet to help with lucid dreaming in that other thread ages ago, if this was you, then sir you were spot on, your intuition is correct. Diet plays a big part in being aware, in any reality... I'm doing a lil experiment to do with this and it seems like it has worked.
I never mentioned anything about my diet, I don't think. I can sorta see how it would affect dreaming, but I don't have any plans to change my diet.
I have a routine before I go to bed, it's usually either gaming online on my ps3, or browsing dreamviews. Then brushing teeth, pjs, then bed. I suppose I have to change this. I will do a test tomorrow night, where I don't use any electronics an hour before bed.
I actually had a funny "dream" this morning. Well firstly I had a quite long one, then I drifted a bit, maybe woke up, then fell asleep, and I remember lying on my right side, in bed, feeling a jaguar or cougar clawing at my mattress from under my bed. I remember thinking if I let S.P. come on, it will go away, so I did, S.P. came on straight away, and then I woke up a second later, on my left side, as if I had just blinked in my dream and opened my eyes and was suddenly on my left side, it was that seamless and fast a transition.
I'm counting this as progress, as this was actually ME in bed, and not just some random place with a 3rd person view over someone random, like my usual dreams. I went to bed/sleep much later last night, could this have been the cause, or am I actually getting somewhere with my dreams?
Yeah, it was some other guy.. anyway I'd recommend you drink shitloads of water, I mean gallons.. so that you go to piss 15+ times in a day. Haha diet helps so much with everything. I had 2 lucids the past 2 days, and I didn't practice awareness once or do a reality check + subconscious stress from exams, lol amazing shit. Didn't have SUPER lucidity but they were vivid and I knew I was dreaming.
Yeah, this is definitely progress, the jaguar thing was probably SP hallucinations in itself. I frequently find myself in SP randomly some nights, randomly on my back too, when I really never sleep on my back at all, lol. If you want to induce SP it definitely helps if you are on your back. So yeah, it's definitely progress. I havent' really mentioned it, but I've had alot of 3rd person dreams the past few weeks, not every dream, like 2 out of 5 per night typically was me being a 3rd person camera. Now, lol that hasn't happened for a week, the change I think is just that these past weeks I'm coming to be myself alot more, and not worrying what other people think, I'm not saying this is it for you, but maybe it'll give some insight. Happy dreaming brother, I have a good feeling about tonight's dreams :D
Me too. I think my jaguar encounter was not me waking up into S.P. hallucinations, as when I "woke up" to the jaguar, I decided to go into S.P., and when I did, its like the dream was a film, and the reel ended and suddenly I saw the wall as I lay on my left side.
Basically, it went= Dreaming, then I'm on my right side, jaguar, S.P., left side.
I'm not sure what it was, but it was definitely different. Also, last nights dream was surprisingly longer than usual. It had a beginning, then skipped to a different scene in the same story, (oddly enough with a tiger in it, hm.. jaguars and tigers..) then it just finished, I think happily, then other dreams took place.
Also, does it have to be water? Can it maybe be apple/orange juice instead? I don't really drink water, only milk and apple/orange juice in the morning, the apple/orange juice during the day at school, and water at dinner.
Should I be drinking more water, or just more liquids? I have about 6 glasses of liquids a day, 2 of those being water.
Forget counting how many glasses of water you have a day, just drink til you think your bladder will burst. Drink loooooads, and yes it has to be water lol. Do this, and if you're going to do it, then do it, don't do it half-heartedly, so if you don't really want to and won't put effort into it then leave it.
Sure, I can drink and drink a load of water, then go before bed. That helps in dreaming and getting lucid does it?
I accidentally did a test last night. All yesterday, I never really had time to do any awareness things. So last nights dreams were.. well, there was only one pretty bad fragment. This proves that ADA influences my dreams to be more vivid.
So anyway, drinking water = better dreams, etc?
Last nights dreams were.. back on track I guess, not too good, but okay. I'm in the middle of school tests right now, so I have long periods of time where I have to sit and wait for the end of the time or until the tests start, so I practice then. I actually think I got a fair bit done today, like 10 minutes in 2 separate periods.
Water... I've recently realised that water is more than just 'water'.. lol I don't understand how fully yet... but I have that inkling. Water just, fuels your whole body, it helps everything, every cell in your body needs water. If they don't have that juice, that push then you don't have it. Water allows you to be aware, it cleanses your body of all the shit people put into it and allows the body to function normally. Upon cleansing my body of all toxic substances, i.e. modern.. manufactured food, I found myself more spiritually in tune and connected. If you're spiritually 'in tune' then you are aware... of your existence, other beings' existence, and you are aware of what binds you all, love... you are aware that everything is you and you are everything, the floooow that Yoda was talking about, is love. It flows all around you, in you, into the ground, the tree, etc. A couple of days ago I truly experienced this, and it was aaaabsolutelyyyyyyyyy AMAZING!!!!!!! AAAAAAAH Man, life is AMAZING!!!!!!! That is awareness brother. That is true awareness. I didn't try to be aware, I just, was, and then had 2 lucid dreams that night after having done nothing at all, but BE.
Clarity. Is what I experienced.. and water helps to clear, so so much, I'm just coming to understand this. Unclog your body, mind and spirit, and be truly aware, and then lucid dreaming is just the tip of the iceberg, hahaa xD. I love you Origami
can you please tell more about your experience? I would love to hear it
You had sex didn't you.
But yeah, it's summer now for me, tests are over. I can now dedicate ENTIRE days to just be'ing. I will be aware, not just when I have a break from class etc, but whenever I'm awake. There is no excuse, I have all day to myself.
This is going to be a productive summer.
and... I love you too, but not in any funny way. That's just not me.
LOL. No I didn't have sex, but I felt the best feeling in the world, lol. And.. lol same here, my intention is just love, as you are a human being too, you another part of me, and the whole, life. So, I love you :D. Above all man, this summer, LIVE YOUR LIFE DUDE!!!!!!! BE WHO YOU ARE, WHAT YOU ARE, AND BE ALIVE TODAY! :D Be aware that you are living lol, don't be a zombie man..
Haha, so much has happened in the past week man, but that experience, was amazing. I was lost, now I'm found. When you love yourself and others.. it's the best feeling ever, its.. its actually indescribable, YOU ARE ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 ITS ENERGY!!! AAH man. I felt this one day, and a good way to describe it is Freedom. I was free. Simple as.. So I went, walked around for ages and the beauty in nature man, I walked by looking at the tree's, seeing detail i've never seen before, hearing all the beautiful birds, oh and the animals know, lol they know when you're in tune with life and everything, it's amazing. Walked for ages, being myself, oh and I had no care for this modern world, lol this world is actually crazy that they don't know this. I nearly laughed my lungs out with absolute joy while walking man, I was walking with someone and they said they cared about their 'body image', I nearly died laughing xD. Ah man, this world is nuts indeed. I am my image, my being, I would've gladly walked naked through the streets at that point, and nearly did lol the person had to stop me, I took of my shirt to prove a point how INSANE 'body image' is. lol.. I looked at a car and had to hold myself back with the laughter, us humans have strayed sooo far from what life is, so far.. LIFE! it is.. amazing. On another occasion I felt this immense love and went roaming around, ended up in a park and just walked, felt everything, oh and btw when walking through the streets I knew EXACTLY where to go lol, I was highly intuitive, because I was being guided by something larger, I and I, God, Allah, Higher Self, Jah, Please don't put labels on these things, just be. I was being guided, to help others and to LIVE. SO I'm in this park, every dog that went by felt my energy and wanted to play lol, it's amazing. Oh, and, wow, shoes. Shoes block the flow of energy, like alot of stuff today. Didn't take them off, but walked on the grass. TARMAC! LOL! I nearly died laughing here too, people walk on... tarmac?. Anyway, I forgot to mention, upon entering the park, there was a huuuuge flock of small birds, chirping in unison... wow.. I actually felt them, they were me, there was no question, I was feeling it, ah its hard to explain, I WAS CHIRPING, I was the wind, and the tree's around... the energy flowing, they were celebrating their existence, they chirped in unison, then took off swooshing around a couple times and then flew, it was.. aah man. Hard to convey this. Ended up walking by a lake with ducks by it and birds, I sat down at the edge and just , existed. The oneness I felt was amazing.. and the energy, lol I actually felt energy, chi again I don't really want to use too many labels, but I felt the energy flowing, it swoooooooshed through me, and then into the ground, and it was flowing sooooooo freely, is what I can describe it. It was flowing freely, and I saw it too on another occasion of this pure LOVE, closed my eyes, there it was, LOL I DIDNT SEE IT IN COLOUR, noo sir, It was... It was like it wasnt there but I saw it, and everything around me, my legs, hands, arms. Again its hard to describe.. Like, fleeting lines of energy, outlines, not too much detail, I guess that will come later, lol. But it was amazing, at the lake, I was fine, I was calm, I was.. free.
Freedom sir, Mr Bob Marley is not dead. We are 'Jesus', we are 'Bob Marley' lol you have to hear what I say people, we are. LIVE!!!!!!!!!!
Ah, freedom came my way one day.. People need to hear the message that I am saying, that so many have said, so so many, HEAR AND SEE, use your eyes and ears :D. Man im so lively, I'm going out running, hahahaha ahhahahaa :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3Z4PX2JI_c
So basically, you had some roofies?
quite amazing.. can you tell me how did you got to that feeling? I try to be happy but when i see the foolishness ,the idiocraty, the ugly things, i get depressed. i hope i will be as you.. after all I am you...
oh and I forgot... maximum grade for the Bob Marley song, i am a BIG Bob Marley fan...
Getting kinda strange in here.... what is this feeling anyway? Is it just general happiness of are you just feeling... high?
I have been high many times but never felt like him... just crazy laughter
Well it is odd. How does someone just... be happy and one with the world in the course of a day?
