      It was a dream!

ok, so i woke this morning to a vanishing memory of a dream, the details quickly left me, all i remember is two things. one, the girl i like, she was there that's all i remember and two, i realized i was dreaming. i can't remember what lead me to the conclusion, but i felt so surprised, i tried a few RC's. i held my nose and tried to breath. it didn't work i couldn't breathe. "this has to be a dream!" i remember thinking, something about the events of the dream, i remember thinking they weren't impossible, actually quite likely, but i simply knew. i went over to my computer screen, examined it for a few seconds, closed my eyes, opened, and it was the same. i simply couldn't come to the definite conclusion that i was dreaming, as to become lucid.

so there, sorry for the lack of detail, but yes. why did my dream play out like reality? why, even though i knew i was dreaming and was actively trying to prove it, did i not become lucid or at least find something to tell me it was defiantly a dream?

When you do reality checks do you expect it to work or not? When I first did reality checks I did the nose thing and expected it not to work. You have believe it will work everytime you do a RC or it won't. It was probably just doubt that made it not work.

Well you did become Lucid i just think you may have had that little bit of doubt in your mind that was getting in the way ..think positive, believe 100% you can lucid and that you RC's will work, RC through the day, not every minute but when you think about lucid dreaming. If you can gain that little bit of controll and belief it will work wonders for you next time..good luck and any questions throw them at us lol
