What now? Whats the best step up?

My dreams have taken themselves to a whole new level for me recently. I'm not doing any method or technique, just writing in my dream journal and reading stuff on DV. I go to bed at a good time and sleep a lot. I also wake up reliably about a third of the way into my sleeping time, which is about 4-5am.

What I was wondering is what to do now? Is there anyway I can work on this? I recall about 4-5 dreams per night, all really detailed and long, compared to some of the dream journals on this site.

What technique should I try now? I don't do reality checks btw.

Last night I had a particularly vivid dream of me running down my street, at night. I then ran back up, and fell over. It was really slow, and I did a front flip and found it hard to get back to my feet. I was then jolted awake by nothing, not sure if a noise woke me up or not, but this was when I normally wake up in the night.

It is really great that you remember 4-5 dreams a night! Congrats!

I would read over this carefully, and pick a technique that you think would be best for you. Once you pick a technique, you need to stick with it! Good luck

I think I should have been a little more informative and specific. I'm not new here, I have been on DV for 5 months now, and I have tried nearly all the methods on here. I was just wondering if there were any methods that people here would think I would do well with?

I already tried WBTB, MILD, DILD, mantras, R.C.s, a bit of DEILD and WILD, but none really worked or showed much promise of anything.

I don't really need a list or methods, just maybe a few suggestions people think I would do well to try, given my circumstances.

Helpful. Really? Is it all down to luck? There is nothing you can think of that really helps?

Depends mainly on the technique. DILDs are probably going to boil down to luck. However, it is possible to use very frequent reality checks while awake (if you have difficulty remembering them, try setting an alarm on your phone to remind you to do one) and other techniques with DILDs to increase the likelyhood of one occuring.

WILDs are the tougher route, but are based more on skill than on luck. This can be made easier, though, by combining other techniques with the WILDs.

No matter which route you choose, effort will be required. But, trust me, you'll get there sooner than you may think. I had my second lucid dream within a week of my first one, whereas my first one took me roughly a quarter of a year. The second one is much easier than the first one.

Also, look at the page Mancon posted. Very helpful information there.

One more thing - be sure to post your next lucid dream for us to read when you accomplish it!

How long did you try each method for?

@Din- Then I would be behind you then. I had my first in about 4 months, and my second hasnt happened, its been a month since my first. I will post it though!

@Korley- Admittedly, not long. WBTB I did for a few weeks, but didn't get anywhere. I tried ADA for 4 weeks, got nothing, and a mantra for a week and a bit, nothing. Everything else was about a week or 2. I just never really had faith in them after a week of nothing improving.

Well there's your problem. You need to try each method, for AT LEAST a month. I say go with MILD and do it every night for 4 or 5 weeks and see where it gets you.
      Mancon and Bossalinni like this.

Okay, thanks, MILD it is then. I am already sorta doing it, for about 4 days now, but I kinda slacked off on it as I couldn't reach my DJ for a night as I was over at a friends house. I'll be sure to give it a proper go tonight.

WBTB seems to have 1/10 shot with me. You can combine it with your DILD. Also, you can try dream enhancers like bananas, apple juice, etc. Plenty of things! Your recall is AMAZING! I only ever remember 2-3 dreams every night.

Well I tried MILD PROPERLY last night. I didn't have as many dreams as the previous nights, but it's only been one attempt, I'm not making any judgments yet.

My mantra as well is "Dream characters tell me to Reality Check".

I say it for about a minute 5 times a day, and for about half an hour or so in bed.
