      Idea for a new technique!

First, i have to tell you, im 15 years old and Im from germany, so my english is pretty hard to understand, I guess.

Yesterday, I got a nice idea about a new way to induce lucid dreams while reading an article on a website (im not sure if Im allowed to post a link?)

The thing you'll need is to practice IRON WILL
that means, you set yourself goals,

for example : "today, I will clean up my room" , "I will work for school 2 hours today!" "I will run round my house 3 times now" , simple things like "I will get a shower in 30 minutes", "I'll go for a walk at 3pm" or hard things like "I will write down 100 times I am dreaming on a piece of paper", your goals can also be weird "Untie and retie your shoelaces 5 times" and for a longer time: "improve in school"

Just set yourself some goals for the day or for longer, you dont have to set them as you wake up in the morning, but if you do so, train your brain to ALWAYS remember them and complete them

The hard part of this method is: For building up an iron will you to complete all your goals you set yourself.

The idea: What happens, if you completed all the goals you set yourself for maybe 2-3 weeks and tell yourself : "I will lucid dream tonight" , not only, that your confidence has improved in the time you trained your iron will, but also , your brain has trained to complete all the goals you set.

I dont know if this works, im training my willpower a while now and I can tell you, it will not only help you to may induce lucid dreams, you will have much more stamina completing your goals, more power to do so. First you have to really force you, but after a while, it gets easier and easier, dont thing about your goals to much, just complete them.

      What do you guys think?
      discuss.

Sounds like a good part of any LD approach. I like it.

Also your English is better than many Americans I know!

Nice to hear that, thank you =).
But I have to do some more research about that, It would be nice if somebody could help me at that point.
Im currently reading "The World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge, its pretty hard to understand everything, but maybe It'll give me some inspiration.

There is a section in ETWOLD about strengthening the will. In the appendix, IIRC.

Personally, I'm the world's worst procrastinator and I have to break all tasks down into small chunks otherwise I'd never get started on anything.

I think it sounds cool! Good idea.
Maybe with some self-hypnose? I don't know, but maybe it would make it more easy?

By the way, your English is good.

      Self Hypnosis? for willpower?
I think that my personal strength is willpower and I have no problems completing hard tasks, or losing the will to do it, dont worry about that you dont accomplish your goals or you dont have enough time or anything, just do it.

But we all know: Different techniques for different people, somebody is good at WILDing, somebody at ADA
But I would love to hear that somebody has success with this technique.

      "Hi"?

Tell me your opinions please =).

Today my big goal was to complete a rubix cube (weekend and I dont had anything better to do) and I got it after 2 hours of straight cubing.. .
Now, my goal is to have a lucid dream this night. (That will be my first one!)

I like the idea. It seems like it would work, I have never heard of someone trying this. Are you going to try it? Let us know how it works for you!
