      Too awake for DEILD

      Hi

I have a problem that prevents me from DEILDing:

As soon as the alarm goes off, Im totally awake and aware of my entire body etc. I can go back to sleep while laying still with no problems, but I can't induce a LD.

      What do you suggest?

Are you sure that you are waking up at the right time, although you are awake so that does indicate to me you are in REM.
Just try and relax and practice, don't move your eyes as your body expects them not to move for awhile when going to sleep.
Relax, be passively aware and keep trying!

I was going to suggest the same thing. For DEILD to work, you have to wake directly from a dream. For it to really be worthwhile, you need to wake prematurely from a dream. Do you feel like you just exited a dream? It might be worth it to set a second alarm for earlier in the morning. For example, I normally wake from a dream at about 5:30am, then go back to sleep before my alarm goes off at 6:30am.
