      Using music to attaing lucidity?

      Hello dreamnauts!.

I was wondering if we could use a music as a way to realize we are dreaming.
¿could we train to somehow asociate hearing a song with being dreaming?.

I have my computer next to my bed, so I thought I could make a mp3 file several hours long, in which a predetermined song would play in intervals at a low volume in the middle of the night.

So what do you think?. "All I have to do is dream", by Glen Campbell would be very apropiate, dont you tink

I was about to post something like this last night then I decided not to until I tried it.

Try using a song you listen to frequently and leave it playing on repeat over night.

Maybe something that makes you invision something in specific when you listen to it.

I might try this tonight since last night I first tried to concentrate on becoming lucid with darkness and silence, and then as soon as I was dozing off and felt like I was concious through the transition, (seeing lights, hearing voices, sounds) I got too excited and then woke back up..

Hehe, Glen Campbell! Not thought of him in quite a while.

I can see absolutely no reason why this wouldn't work, especially if you listen to the music while setting you intention just before bed.

Please let us know how it turns out for you, OK?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

      Hi!.

Thank you for the fast responses. I´ll try this and report back with the results.

Blacksheep, I think leaving the song continously playing wouldn´t work very well. I think that after a while you wouldn´t hear it, it would become some kind of white noise, making the brain ignore it.
Playing it just a few times with silent intervals would probably work better, you know, the change from silence to music would catch your attention in the middle of a dream.

Perhaps using a song that means a lot to oneself is the best.

Anyway this is all speculation on my part

I think I'll try this tonight as well. Even if it doesn't work it should make for some interesting non-lucid dreams.

Edit: I threw some Star Wars music in there. So even if this doesn't help me attain lucidity maybe theres a fun Star Wars dream waiting for me.
