      WILDing

I often try to do a WILD as I first goto sleep.. I count my breathing, each time I exhale.
I know its a far-catch to slip into a dream doing it this way.. I don't really feel any feelings at all.. I think I eventually fall asleep.

I've woke early in the morning a few times, trying the same method, still doesn't seem to do anything.. I get no SP or HI or anything.

Once, just the other day, after trying one WILD in the evening, then the morning, both failing, I woke up at about 7AM, I went back to sleep and I had a dream which I could remember when I woke up.. I was on some rooftops or something, I remember saying "I'm dreaming, I think", I looked at my hands and they were not like mine (not long and thin, but more big and thicker, like my dads). I think I then said "I'm really dreaming!". I either forgot that I was dreaming, or I woke up.. I can't remember what happened..

I've also tried writing down "I will become lucid" "I will remember my dreams" etc, which failed.

Another question, I usually only know what happened (not that it was a dream, but the fact that the events happened at all) after I wake up and later recall it. I don't really remember doing the things, only sometimes.

What I'm saying is that it is like a movie.. I remember the movie, but I do not remember actually watching the movie.. Is this normal?

And to note, I remember at least 1-2 dreams per night, sometimes upto 4 dreams in one night.

Your dream things are almost exactly the same as mine! I've never been able to use WILD. I just sort of never think it's really gonna work, and guess what? It doesn't. Anyway, I achieved my first lucid by using RC's. They are easy to do and after only about a week or two I had my first lucid. Also, I always advise you to keep a dream journal. Even if you do remember dreams, it helps remember lucids much better. Thats all for now.

P.S. You should try using reality checks.

Yep SOBB brings up a great concept which never fails. Try some Reality Checks to help generate Lucidness. And if you haven't been keeping a dream journal give that a try to help your dream memory recall. Just a suggestion

WILDing won't work unless you have quite a bit of experience attaining lucidity. The reason is that it is SO easy to slip into a non-lucid dream. The closest I got to WILDing wasn't really WILDing at all, rather I was non-lucid and performed a RC.

Shadow is right about the dream journals. You can find your dream signs in them. Don't let the tutorials fool you into thinking dream signs are stable. They change over time so you have to keep up with them. The thing about dream signs is that your brain is using REM sleep, in part, to consolidate memory, that's why certain themes keep repeating in dreams. So if you dreamt of hotels the last few nights, it is likely that you'll dream of hotels again tonight, BUT once the hotels lose their significance they'll stop being your dream sign. THAT's why you need the journal.

I find it really helps to read over the last few nights of dreams, paying special attention to repeating themes, impossible events, significant people. This will help focus your recall on the parts of your dreams that are important for attaining lucidity. You should also RC every time you wake (to be wary of false-awakenings), and every time something significant from your dreams happens in reality (in addition to random RCs you should be doing all day anyway).
