That sounds like a WILD to me. I sometimes get those, but sometimes not. What I've found that works is when you are just about to go back to sleep again, assure yourself that you are going to be entering a dream while conscious, just expect it to happen. Lay your head down and think of nothing. Wait for the dream to start, but keep your mind alert enough to stay conscious until that point. Sometimes thinking of a visual scene helps me start the process. Not immediately, but after a couple minutes or so, if nothing has happened, I calmly start imagining a scene to see if it will expand. Also, to keep myself conscious longer I sometimes gently curl one of my toes in and out very slowly without using much energy. This seems to keep me conscious long enough for a dream to start, at which point I relax completely and imagine that my body is now in a dream and I attempt to move around in it, at which point I usually can. |
