      Am I Unknowingly WILDing?

I've done this before, but I've never really thought much about it. This morning (and many others) I've woken up, written my dreams down, then, trying to go back to sleep, I seem to have a dream. I'm still awake when this happens mind you, and I know I'm awake in a lazy, laid-back sort of way. It's like my mind wanders, but it wanders so far that it begins dreaming while I'm still conscious. This only happens in the mornings after I wake up, and it only happens when I'm not paying attention to anything or thinking in any sort of logical pattern.

Anyone know what the heck this is?
Which leads to the ultimate question:
What would happen if one were eating hot soup with a potential spoon while sitting on a non-existent fence?

I get that too.. I don't know if what your seeing is actual things or not, but I don't see nothing, my brain just starts thinking about all random stuff when I leave it blank, but try to do a WILD.

I just see no real images.. Maybe next time I'll go with the images rather than cancelling them out, it may just lead to something.

Well i have tried that as well, i know what you mean but you are getting closer to WILDing i would say, if your mind wanders just let it wander and see what happens and see what happens while you are still concious

That i would say be WILDing, just keep practicing and saying to yourself " I am now entering a dream" over and over, in a relaxed way with not too much emphasis and you will get there.

That sounds like a WILD to me. I sometimes get those, but sometimes not. What I've found that works is when you are just about to go back to sleep again, assure yourself that you are going to be entering a dream while conscious, just expect it to happen. Lay your head down and think of nothing. Wait for the dream to start, but keep your mind alert enough to stay conscious until that point. Sometimes thinking of a visual scene helps me start the process. Not immediately, but after a couple minutes or so, if nothing has happened, I calmly start imagining a scene to see if it will expand. Also, to keep myself conscious longer I sometimes gently curl one of my toes in and out very slowly without using much energy. This seems to keep me conscious long enough for a dream to start, at which point I relax completely and imagine that my body is now in a dream and I attempt to move around in it, at which point I usually can.
Never stop searching for truth. In your search you may think you have found it, and perhaps you have, but if you hold on tightly to a single thread it will fray and it's greater meaning will become lost. There is always more truth stretching deep beneath the surface that promises to reveal ever greater the infinite, interwoven fabric of truth, woven in the looms of Heaven.

These are short morning dreams, and they can be entered if you focus hard enough.
One interestint way to induce them is to take a hour long nap (or wake up in the morning) and then set your alarm to snooze, so it will beep every 10 min or so. You will notice that you are having a dream every 10 min. This is an excellent method of training your awareness.

I sometimes get that too, but not always in the morning. Sometimes at night when im really tired, if i think about something (which usually includes visual imagery, becuase im a very visual person) my mind of wanders off on whatever it is and turns into a sort of dream. Like the other night, I was thinking about how cool it would be to live in a castle, and i started imagining what it would look like if i could. After a few minutes i went into a dream (i never noticed the transition) in which i ran into a castle and swung up giant, stair like walls on hundreds of ropes that hung down. After i do that for a few minutes, i realize im dreaming and wake up. I don't go lucid, at least i never have becuase i always wake up. I'm rambling now, sorry, but just trying to relate.

Oh wow that happens to me too! After trying the WBTB method I try to fall asleep, i have a vivid daydream thing then i awake with a jolt. BUT I don't wake up entirely! I wake up to the sound of voices that aren't there, i feel like im backflipping over and over again but im actually lying in my bed and i can actually hear the rushing of blood in my ears thobbing audible sounds, and those vibrations, so very strong! the noises frighten me, women screaming and deeeep moans. I try to stay calm I really do but i wake up!

Did I wake up into the WILD process? This stuff sure is weird!
