Im going to try my first LD tonight. Anything i should know?

I've been searching around on the tutorials forum, and i've decided to try WILD. I think i can improve my dream recall better by LDing, that way i know what i want to do in it, and therefore i think i can remember it easier. So anything else i should know?

The usually recommended approach is to work on dream recall for a while, for example by keeping a dream journal, before trying to LD. I guess WILD could work anyway. I'm not that experienced, but I would recommend just trying to relax and not force anything. If you try to do something that doesn't seem to work, then just drop it and do something else.
      Just my 2 cents.

Lucid Dreaming and Recall may be separate issues. Yes, typically lucid dreams are more intense than ordinary dreams, but still, if one tends to go straight back down into deep sleep afterward, you may well not remember even Lucid Dreams.

Try drinking more water before going to bed -- to give yourself an excuse to get up after one's dream cycle.

Then, we have found, surprisingly, that negative reinforcement has been effective -- slapping your arm or leg hard enough to make yourself wince in pain, if you wake up without remembering a Dream. It turns out that the body does HATE pain, and will pick up a line to the Subconscious Mind right away and insist that whatever the problem is, it HAS to be fixed because the pain as a consequence of failure just isn't any fun.

Ya usually you want to improve your recall before you move on to trying to LD on a regular basis. Although I'm not saying to shouldn'y try to WILD though that's a really tough technique to master for some (me being one of those people) so the more attempts you make the closer you will be to mastering it. But the bottom line is having LDs will probably not improve your dream recall expressing the importance of remembering your dreams to your subconsious seems to be the best way to improve it and the most talked about method for doing that seems to be keeping a dream journal. So maybe look into that . Unless your lazy like me but hey I still have a dream journal.

*LOL* That's how my swedish teacher tried to teach us grammar in sixth grade. Unfortunately people started to skip classes and felt generally bad about it.
