      :/

I went lucid this morning and floated around. I accidently closed my eyes when I tried to light up the dream and woke up. Was only lucid for like 5 or 6 seconds

First off, welcome to DreamViews Grego!

A 5 or 6 second lucid dream is not shabby by any means. All you need now is some stabilization technique. So if closing your eyes made you wake up, I have some ideas of what you can try instead (closing my eyes makes me wake up sometimes too by the way). Next time you find yourself lucid, instead of flying right away, try looking at your hands. Rub them together, turn them around, all while focusing on them. I find this really locks in the lucidity for me. Then find a door, imagine something cool on the other side, and then open it.

Try that, and good luck. Let me know if you ever have any questions ok? Happy Dreaming

Hey! It was five or six times longer than my longest lucid dream! Keep working, keep working.

      Moved to Attaining Lucidity

Control and Stability both come with practice and experience, but I can give you afew pointers.
When you get in the dream, feel around, use your senses e.g. look at your hands with your eyes
Actively remain concious about how stable the dream is, this should always be in your mind
Shout "Clarify!", that can help, but you have to mean it (:

I had another this morning that was 5 or 6 seconds, but that's pretty long for me. Might have been the longest for me. It doesn't really matter the length or content, more the frequency in which you get lucid. Aim to get lucid often, and then work on quality. It's easier to work on something that you have a lot of time with, rather then working on something that you can only get to every now and then.

My LD's usually last around 15-20 minutes in dream time. I've been LD'ing naturally since I was a child, so I've sort of learned what to do on my own. With over a hundred LD's under my belt, keeping stable in a dream is not an issue for me.
